Olivia walked back and forth in the house, her anxiety growing with each passing moment. She checked the doors and windows again, but they were all locked. Victor had never gone to such lengths before.

Her thoughts risen. What’s happening to him? How could he do this?

When Victor finally comes from his study, he looked too calm. He carried a tray with breakfast, his behavior was as though nothing had happened.

“Good morning, Olivia,” he said, placing the tray on the table.

She looked at him, disbelieving. “Victor, what’s going on? Why are the doors locked? And where’s my phone?”

He smiled lightly, but his eyes were saying something else. “I’ve taken steps to ensure your safety. You don’t need to worry about anything.”
