Chapter 2995 Mental

Penulis: Five Generals
Snow was right under Kaze when the gas hit the ground. The sizzling noise and the melted asphalt road shocked her, turning her face pale.

Kaze frowned, and his expression turned serious as well.

The poison that the Ryokanians used was indeed vicious.

If not for his quick reaction, the poison would easily burn off Snow’s face or skin, turning a beautiful lady into a monster.

Snow could barely keep herself together due to the intensity of the situation. Her face was as pale as paper.

She was not hit by the poisonous gaze because of Kaze’s protection but the dust particles remained in the air.

Taking in even a little made her sick and her heart raced.

Kaze narrowed his eyes. He pulled a silver needle from his pouch and poked it into Snow’s head.

Then, he opened the door and shoved her into the car before closing it.

Kaze then slowly stepped away but after a few steps, his body started shaking and moments later, he collapsed on the floor and started to twitch uncontrollab

At the first chapters, Kaze was defined as invincible and immune to poisons as as the story goes on, he seems becoming weak and ordinary. Come to think that he can even crush a diamond and he was once so fast that he can even catch a bullet but all those abilities as the story goes on he no longer

  • Guardian-In-Law   Chapter 2996 Credit

“Little bastard, regret talking to me like that already?” The ninja looked at Kaze sinisterly and said, “If you just kneel and beg me for mercy, I might consider letting you go, but you have to get up to do that. Hahaha…” He laughed hysterically. In his eyes, Kaze was like a piece of meat on the chopping board, entirely at his mercy. He was sent to Arcadia to carry out assassination missions and the first target was Kaze. There were some others assigned the same mission, but to his surprise, he was the first to act and effortlessly secured the target. All he needed to do was cut Kaze’s head off and claim his reward. He felt that the mission was too easy, like taking candy from a baby. “Hehe, before I came, that woman from the Hara family told me to be careful. She said you are an expert and don’t die. Now it seems she was misinformed. “After I kill you and claim the credit, I’ll report it to the top brass and request them to punish that woman. Best if they could let m

  • Guardian-In-Law   Chapter 2997 That Puts My Mind at Ease

“Aaargh! You sneaky bastard! You ambushed me?! You were not poisoned?! How?!” The ninja got up on his feet with a frontal flip. He could barely balance his body but his eyes were burning with anger as he glared at Kaze. Rage quickly consumed him. Kaze rubbed his face to ease the numbness from pretending to be poisoned. “The poison you Ryokanians used is nothing compared to the Tyban’s Scorpion Clan, so why would I be poisoned in the first place?” “You were faking it?!” The ninja was furious. With gritted teeth, he shouted, “You sneaky bastard! You’re shameless!” “Shameless? Are you talking about yourself?” Kaze was amused by the ninja’s word choice. He said, “I pretended to be poisoned to test you and see how many more accomplices are there. Now it seems like you are alone. That puts my mind at ease.” The ninjas of Ryokan might not be a formidable foe but they were known for their unrivaled patience. During the warring period in Ryokan, the ninjas could hide in a tiny

The ninja was confident in his speed as he had trained since young, yet when he saw Kaze appear in front of him without his knowledge, as if a ghost had appeared, he was shaken. His beliefs collapsed on him. “Did I say you could run?” Kaze stood with his hands behind his back. “I’ll give you a chance to kill yourself. You had a lot of poison with you, right? Pick one and take it. Don’t make me kill you, I don’t want to dirty my hands.” The ninja was hideous and basically a walking rotten piece of meat. Looking at him was already troubling, let alone touching him. “You want me to take my own poison? Dream on!” The ninja spat out a black bead at Kaze and it exploded mid-air. Black gas, darker than the previous, erupted. “Your trick can only work once, yet you want to use it again? You’re underestimating me.” Kaze grunted coldly. He raised his hand to strike his own chest, releasing a loud buzz similar to a thunderclap. The shockwave from the buzz blasted the cloud of blac

“Mr. Chairman! You’re alright!” Snow breathed a sigh of relief seeing Kaze unscathed. She then asked about the ninja, to which Kaze replied he had taken care of.He did not want her to see the gory scene in the woods. Soon, Conan arrived with his men, together with Collier. When Conan learned that Kaze was ambushed, he contacted Collier immediately. Collier was already the deputy chief of the South River Branch. He was qualified to utilize resources in Riverbank, becoming someone much more useful than Conan locally. Conan had gotten more and more mature in doing things. He was no longer led by blind confidence and could recognize his shortcomings. Collier knew he had become the deputy chief of the South River Branch because of Kaze. His life and future were basically in Kaze’s hands. Therefore, when he heard something happened to Kaze, he quickly made his way to the scene. Since Collier was already at the scene, Kaze could skip all the troublesome procedures. He then s

“If you think so, then so be it.” Kaze simply smiled it off. Patrick was struck by a sudden realization. Kaze did not deny it but it was something that should not be made verbal, so he chose to answer vaguely. A moment of silence later, Patrick said, “Reiko Hara was at the Weather family’s last night. My family handed me over. “I was hiding outside but I was deceived by those old bastards. They then handed me to that woman. “They tortured me because I transferred the shares to Sky Ocean Corporation without their permission. Now I realize that the companies and assets Casius ordered me to oversee do not belong to him but to the Ryokanians. “One of the Riverbank Seven is nothing but a dog working for the Ryokanians.” He scoffed and mocked himself with a bitter laugh. If Casius were a dog to the Ryokanians, then Patrick would be the lackey of a dog, making him even more miserable. Kaze barely reacted to Patrick’s emotional speech. He asked, “The Ryokanians forced you to

“I want payback!” Patrick sprung from his bed and dropped to his knees on the floor. With his bones already fractured, the sudden movement sent a jolt of pain through him, leaving him drenched in cold sweat.“The Weathers turned their backs on me, so I want to make them pay!“The Ryokanians ruined me, and I want payback! “But I know I’m defenseless against them. “I can only turn to you for help, Kaze. I know you’re strong. You killed Casius, didn’t you? “You simply choose to remain discreet. That’s why everybody thinks you’re a loser. I used to be one of those idiots. “I can’t give you much. All I can offer is the confidential files about Bronze Sparrow and clues to Casius’ secret assets and overseas accounts,” Patrick said pleadingly, his gaze intense on Kaze. Kaze narrowed his eyes at Patrick for a moment. He did not account for Patrick’s behavior. Patrick was just a show-off, an airhead, and a bully. After the last incident, Patrick would do everything to get b

  • Guardian-In-Law   Chapter 3002 Here’s the Tiger’s Cave Again

“Aaron is leagues above Aiden. He became the South River Strategic Department’s chief commander in his early thirties. Still, Aiden holds up on his own among his peers in Westeros.“The Westeros heirs answer to Aiden. He’s one of the leaders of the community. “Aiden must come to some sort of use so that Reiko would be subservient to him.” She, as a woman, felt a natural disgust toward such matters.Snow was resentful of the fact that Reiko plotted to murder her and Kaze. Hence, Snow assumed the worst of Reiko and Aiden’s relationship. By coincidence, Snow was not far off the mark. Kaze read the file and learned more about Aiden. “It appears Aiden is not just an airheaded heir. “He’s not going to stop now if you’re the reason he’s here.“The Ryokanians are using him to get rid of me, but he’s manipulating them to do his bidding too.“The man in the tree is just the appetizer. The Ryokanians are trying to sound us out. Poor thing. He thought he was special. “I think we

  • Guardian-In-Law   Chapter 3003 South River State Commissioner

Snow was aware of the beef between Kaze and the Tiger’s Cave. Among the four special institutions, only the Viper’s Den thrived in Riverbank. The Tiger’s Cave was not pleased with the situation. Hence, the organization sent Genesis of the Weathers to cover the piece of territory in hopes that her family’s influence would expand the Tiger’s Cave’s connections into the city. All they needed was a big case to solve. To make her mark, Genesis returned to Riverbank and set her sights on Kaze. It was bad enough that the case was a bust, but Genesis got herself killed by Southern Tiger for shooting at two of the Eight Tigers. Consequently, the Tiger’s Cave’s presence could only mean trouble. Sensing Kaze and Snow’s gazes, the young man beamed. “I should introduce myself. I am Reuben Swan, the new commissioner of the Tiger’s Cave South River State Branch.” Despite the modesty in his introduction, the arrogance reflected on his face was for all to see. “Reuben Swan?“The West

“I have pointed you in a direction. If you still can’t trust your team, you can go to the Viper’s Den.“There’s one thing, though. Don’t rely too heavily on the Viper’s Den, or your company will be left without secrets.” Kaze’s suggestion gave Snow assurance. She considered tapping into the Viper’s Den’s resources. However, Kaze warned her against excessive dependence. “Why did you say that, Chairman Lee? Will the Viper’s Den stab me in the back?” Surely, the Viper’s Den took orders from Kaze. The Viper’s Den would always be an ally so long as Kaze was the branch leader. “I just don’t want you to put too much faith in others. You find loyalty by developing your own team. Those who revere me will never trust you completely.” Kaze analyzed the situation. Snow ate her supper and looked at Kaze in confusion. “You can only count on the people you win over. You can’t trust anyone else, and that includes me.” Kaze would never hurt Snow. However, he hoped that she would fin

  • Guardian-In-Law   Chapter 3721 Time Heals

“As you said, all is in the past. What’s the point of dwelling on it?” Leah perked up. Such was life, but it took her too long to understand the harsh reality. She guessed things were just not meant to be. “I’ll think about what to get Kaze. Rest well. We’ll visit him in a few days.” Taking the matter seriously, Katie wanted to get gifts ready ahead of time to thank Kaze. “Alright. I’ll see what I can do too. I want to be in touch with the outside world. I don’t care what they have to say. This is not my fault. I won’t blame myself.” Leah wanted her phone back to contact her former friends. Ultimately, she needed to move forward instead of backward. She had to face and fight back the rumors with courage. It was the crucial step to kick trauma in the face. The abduction was kept hush-hush for the most part, but Katie’s frantic search for her daughter at the cocktail party did not go unnoticed. Hearing about the incident, the influential people were keen to find out

  • Guardian-In-Law   Chapter 3720 Moment’s Gone

“When did Kaze start setting it all up? I get the feeling that everybody played into his hands right from the start, and he had controlled every step of the way.” Leah realized that Kaze was an amazing man. Nothing could go past his eyes. “I don’t know.” Katie feared someone like Kaze. She would not be caught dead near him. Even when grasping the situation, Katie dared not look into Kaze for fear she would be targeted. Katie was careful not to show her face around Kaze. For all she knew, Kaze might get back at her. “But he came to Butterworth alone. We met at the train station, and he helped me out of a bad situation.” Leah felt warm and cozy inside just remembering the events. They did not know each other then. Kaze was kind to help a stranger out. From then on, Kaze could do no wrong in Leah’s eyes. Leah befriended him and found him nice. Her interest in him grew. They also got along well. Her memories of Kaze were sweet. Anyone could hurt her in the world, but

Even though Katie was the CEO of the Northborn Group, many eyed her position. There were too many vying to replace her. Without dedicating herself to her work, Katie risked falling from grace. Katie had been too eager to find success to give her daughter the best life. Leah could not understand the pain Katie had to go through. “I understand it now. I explained the nature of my relationship with Kaze to you, but you just wouldn’t get it.” Leah stubbornly expressed herself in hopes her mother would understand. “I just couldn’t get it through my head that you have grown up. You make an easy target since you just graduated and have not stepped into the real world.” Katie would not always be there for Leah. Hence, Katie did her best to get rid of potential danger. Her overprotectiveness triggered Leah’s defiance. It was Katie’s fault for not realizing it sooner. “I’m not angry with you. I didn’t understand a mother’s good intentions, but I understand now. I will listen to

Leah’s face beamed, but her mother’s words threw her into a daze. In the end, she tried to squeeze a smile to assure her mother. However, Leah could not muster a smile. Those days lingered with her like a recurring bad dream. Whenever she recalled the incident, she felt trapped in that nightmare again. Leah wanted to let those memories fade away, but she just could not do it. She would get startled awake late at night and trace the scars across her skin. During moments like this, she resented Perry. Leah was rather cheerful during the day as if the past was behind her. However, it was simply a way for her to escape the pain. By the way Leah was behaving, Katie instantly regretted the question. She should not have probed. Even if they avoided the elephant in the room, they could pretend like nothing ever happened. Nevertheless, the act of asking brought up unsettling times for Leah. “It’s my fault. I shouldn’t have asked.” Katie gently held Leah, hoping to cast

  • Guardian-In-Law   Chapter 3717 Perry’s Fate

When the ambulance door closed shut, Leah wailed once more. The reality of her rescue finally sank in, and she grasped that it was not just a dream. It was a pity that she did not have much time with Kaze. She longed to spend more time with him. “Don’t cry, young lady. You’ll get better soon enough. Don’t worry about the scars on your face. I can administer medicine to help you,” the doctor said while wiping her tears. “Thank you. I’m finally out of the hell hole.” Leah’s worst nightmare would be to be trapped in there forever. Kaze watched as the ambulance disappeared into the night. He then turned to face the villa. “Apprehend everybody in there. Perry should be punished for his crimes.” Kaze had not intended to go after the Duncans, but the family had crossed the line this time. Leah was an adorable and vulnerable woman. She was abused beyond recognition. It never occurred to Kaze that the Duncans could be so cruel. “Perry has passed out in there. Where should

With the secret out in the open, the housekeeper dropped his attitude. He pointed at the basement not too far away. “My employer is in there.” The housekeeper grimaced and kept his head down. Kaze laughed. Unaware of his impending doom, Perry was still living it up. It was absurd. Perry was playing with fire by hurting Leah. “About time you wise up.” Arthur smiled and patted the housekeeper’s face. He opened the door to the basement. Kaze walked to the bar counter and picked up the best bottle of champagne there. He fiddled with the bottle before carrying it to the basement. The other Viper’s Den members followed him. Kaze took a stride down the steps, to the basement. The noisy music was blasting before they reached the entry. Kaze was filled with a mix of emotions. Nevertheless, he said nothing. He opened the door and walked in. The light in the basement was bright, making everything perfectly clear. However, the people inside were not bothered by the

“You know him. It’s Perry Duncan, Leah’s ex-boyfriend.” Snow did not see the point of hiding the truth, so she laid everything out. “Leah must be feeling foul because she was unaware that she was being stalked. By the time she realized what was going on, she was taken into a vehicle. “We spotted the vehicle they departed in from the surveillance footage. They headed to the mountain up north.” Snow had a general idea of the location. “I got Arthur on the job. He’s putting up a team from the Viper’s Den.” Snow was uncertain of Kaze’s stance toward Leah, but now that she was made aware of the situation, the least she could do was help. Katie belonged to the Viper’s Den, so Snow was lending a hand to a friend in business. “Thank you. Please save my daughter.” Katie was nervous. The Viper’s Den was the people she could count on. “Arthur is good, but he’s slow. I’ll do it,” Kaze said. The whole thing was unrelated to him. Kaze was well within his right to stand on the si

Even so, Elsie was out to get Leah. Elsie could pick up on Perry’s delight when she took a swing at Leah. Poor Elsie was just trying to survive by catering to others. People like her learned to pick up social cues and read body language to please customers for money in return. Their income would double if their customers were happy. Leah was the obstacle. If the women could not get rid of her, they would lose their profit. They had no hard feelings for Leah, but they stood on opposing ends. “You should be fawning over Mr. Duncan, not begging me,” Elsie said while grabbing Leah’s hair to pull her up. Leah snatched Elsie’s wrist to try and break free. “Let me go. I never did anything to you.” Leah was no doormat. She did not want to cross these people or get involved with them. She still hoped that by waiting here, her prince would arrive to save her. However, all she got was a cruel beating, and she had enough. “This isn’t my fault. Blame Mr. Duncan for your cir
