CHAPTER 71: MEETING HIS WIFE

I stood by my dresser, tapping my bare heel on the floor, staring at the rows of dresses hanging there.

All my dresses were too conservative, completely covering everything.

Frustrated, I groaned, closed the dresser, and dragged myself back to bed, nervously biting my nails and shaking my legs.

"Why am I trying so hard?" I questioned myself, glancing at my reflection in the mirror where I stood in just my underwear, waiting for my hair to dry naturally. "It's just dinner, dinner with his wife. Why am I trying to show off?"

I stomped my foot on the floor, returned to my wardrobe, and pulled out a black dress. It had a V-neckline, sleeves that stopped at my elbows, and the length reached my knees.

"Will this do?" I shrugged and put it on, checking my reflection in the mirror.

I brushed my hair, deciding to leave it loose. It had grown longer; I should probably get it cut when I have time.

"Okay, you look good," I encouraged myself, looking at my reflection in the vanity mirror.
