Wouldn't Forgive Myself

“Guess who I found drowning his sorrow in a bar, princess? Are you a sucker for punishment? Believe me, I could easily cause another scandal for you if that is what you want. You owe me. Again.”

Tanya sighed as she looked at the hotel address that Vera had added to that message.

She set the phone aside and looked at the light dancing through the wineglass she was twirling in her hand.

“I hate this,” she thought with a sigh “I can’t believe I am feeling this way because of a man I have known for less than three months.”

She set the glass aside without touching the wine she had been twirling since.

She went to the window and threw the blinds aside.

The stars in the sky seemed to mock her just as the mesmerising lights of the city twinkled at her from a far distance.

Everything reminded her of him.

Despite her better judgment, she had watched him leave the house, telling herself that she did not care where he went or what happened to him.

If only it had been that simple.
