Part One Hundred and Seventeen

The house was full of noises when Robert walked in with Christian and he decided to stay for breakfast as well. Christian leapt into my arms like he always did and told me about the scary dinosaur movie he had watched with Robert.

Robert smiled. “Jurassic Park’s not that scary.”

“Robert, he’s five! To him it is scary.” Robert opened and closed his mouth and then looked sheepishly at me.

“Sorry,” he mumbled and I shook my head.

I told Shoran and Adara that they were to stay at home with Christian. I didn’t want to give Alexander any opportunities to be in the same room with her. Adara tiredly nodded her head and remained on the couch.

“It’s almost time to go.” Malachi nodded his head as I kissed Adara goodbye.

“Where are you going?” Robert had remained seated as Carl, Frank and Richard stood up and grabbed their keys.

“To the den. We need to finalize Alexander’s claim on Malachi’s belongings.”

“Let’s go.” Robert stood up but I stopped him.

“No Robert …” His look silenced me, something
