Part Eighty-Five

Vincent bristled and he sneered as he looked at me. I knew I could take him but I didn’t want to make a scene ten minutes into our arrival at Teeven’s gathering. This was not my territory and assaulting the Alpha’s son might not go down that well.

“You dare speak to me like that, in front of my pack?” His anger was more evident now and Teeven stood up and looked at Vincent.

“Perhaps you can settle it with a little fight challenge?” I nodded my agreement at Teeven’s suggestion and Vincent sat back down. He was of average height and he was skinny, there was no muscle that I could see.

“Fighting is barbaric. The future of the world lies in other things.” My dislike for Vincent grew. He was weak and he would ruin this pack when he took over from his father. I was keeping a tight lid on my own emotions because I was nearing the point where I’d say to hell with it all and just beat the living shit out of him.

There were a few minutes of uncomfortable silence and people appeared with platter
