Chapter 515

Jaybie lay listlessly on the bed with flushed cheeks.

Sonnet reached over to touch his forehead and immediately furrowed her brows.

“He has a fever, doesn’t he? What should we do?” Sophia asked.

Sonnet began to dress Jaybie. “We should take him to the hospital.”

“It’s raining outside. Let me call a cab first, and you can wait here,” Lindy said quickly.

She got on her phone to order a cab, while Sonnet fed Jaybie some fever-reducing medicine.

When the time seemed right, she carried Jaybie downstairs, but the cab still had not arrived.

After Lindy called the driver again, she frowned and said, “The driver said it’s raining too heavily, and he has to cross a railway tunnel bridge on his way here, but it’s already flooded. He can’t make it. What should we do?”

Sonnet looked at the pouring rain outside and then at the dazed Jaybie in her arms, feeling nothing but concern.
