Chapter 24

Sonnet stayed by Myles’ side in the hospital for several days. She finally had time to return home once Myles’ condition had fully stabilized.

The first thing Sonnet did after leaving the hospital was to give Lindy a call.

Sonnet had not seen her children in a week. She missed them way too much.

“Is Uncle Myles alright now?” Lindy asked on the other end of the call. The background was rather noisy.

“Yes, his condition is stable right now. I’d like to visit the children. Where do you live now?”

“We’re outside now. I’m playing with them in the playground!” Lindy replied. “You can come over and have dinner with us!”

Sonnet met up with them in a shopping mall.

The children were overjoyed when they saw Sonnet. Each of them sat on either side of Sonnet while they had their meals.

Lindy got extremely jealous after catching sight of this scene. “Am I no longer important now that your mother is here?”
