“If you wanted to eat some, you should have told me. Why did you ask someone else to buy them for you?”

“I didn’t ask for them. He bought them himself. I was even wondering how he knew that I liked peach croissants!” Myles quickly replied.

Sonnet opened her mouth slightly in surprise. How did Maxwell know that her father liked peach croissants? He bought them from that particular store too!

“I think it was maybe Jaybie and Lune who asked Maxwell to buy them for me to make me happy, but they didn’t want him to tell me,” Myles guessed.

Sonnet smiled. “Maybe.”

Nonetheless, she knew in her heart that although Jaybie and Lune knew that Myles liked peach croissants, they would not know which store he preferred.

How exactly did Maxwell know? She had to go back and ask him.

Then, she tucked her father in and said, “Dad, go back to sleep. I’m going to talk to the kids and then leave.”

“Okay, go back early. I’m fine over here. You don’t have to come and see me so late at night.
