AVA'S POV

I got to my office but my thoughts spiraled. I still couldn’t believe that Jason had agreed. He had actually agreed.

When the words left his mouth back at his office, I half-expected him to laugh or take them back, but he didn’t.

"Was he playing some kind of trick on me?" I wondered.

Jason wasn’t the kind of man who gave up control easily, especially not when it came to the company. And yet, he had just agreed to give me shares – something real, something significant.

I must admit, I was moved – my heart softened. Why wouldn’t it? Just 1% of Campbell’s shares is worth hundreds of millions.

10% of the shares was something I could never earn in my entire life, even working as the director of the design department.

I decided to put my thoughts aside and focus my attention on a new design I was working on.

Not knowing how long had passed, later that afternoon, someone knocked on the door of my office.

“Come in,” I said without raising my head.

The door opened,

AVA'S POV My pulse tightened, my thoughts still swirling from my encounter with Laura. What now? I opened the message: "Let's have dinner with Grandpa tonight at his favorite restaurant. 7 pm. I'll meet you both there.♥️" I stared at the message, my chest tightening. Dinner at Grandpa’s favorite restaurant? Jason and I had visited the place before and he told me the story behind it. It is owned by a close friend of Grandpa's late wife, his Grandma had loved it so much. I left work early that day, and the events of everything that had happened still weighed on my mind. As I pulled into the driveway of Jason's villa, I tried to push the thoughts aside. Tonight wasn’t about me and Jason. It was about Grandpa. He deserved a peaceful evening, and I wasn’t going to ruin it with my chaos. Walking into the house, I was greeted by the comforting aroma of freshly baked bread. Martha, Grandpa’s caregiver, stood in the kitchen, carefully slicing a loaf while humming an old tune

AVA'S POVThe ride home was quiet except for the soft sound of the car engine. Grandpa sat next to me, his lips pressed together, his face dark as he stared out the window. He looked upset, and I felt just as bad. Jason not showing up had ruined what should’ve been a special evening for Grandpa. Why did he make plans when he knew he wouldn't keep them? I wondered what could be so urgent that it kept him from coming. “Grandpa,” I said softly, glancing at him. “I’m sure Jason didn’t mean to miss dinner. He said something came up.” I shouldn't have defended him when I didn't even know the details of why he couldn't make it but I just didn't want to make Grandpa feel down. Grandpa turned to me, his eyes cold. “That boy has responsibilities, Ava. I’m not upset for myself, I’m upset for you. He asked you to set up this dinner, and then he doesn’t even have the decency to show up?” "Why did he make plans that he knew he couldn't keep?" Grandpa asked, lines creasing his forehead.

AVA'S POVThe photo on my screen was like a dagger to my chest. Laura's hands were draped over Jason's shoulder, her lips close to his cheek while Jason's hands were resting on her waist. The intimacy of it was undeniable, and it made me feel sick. My hand trembled as I locked my phone and placed it face down on the nightstand. I wanted to cry, to scream, to throw something. But instead, I sat there in silence, my emotions were a mess inside me. I took a deep breath, telling myself to calm down. What was the point of crying when nothing ever changed? The 10% shares he gave me made me think that maybe – just maybe he values me more than Laura but now I felt dejected again. Jason always seemed to find his way back to her, no matter how much it hurt me. He claims Laura wasn't his first choice yet he stood up both Grandpa and I because of her. I wasn't going to cry, and I didn't, but it still felt like a sharp knife kept piercing my heart all through the night, causing me unbeara

JASON'S POV Ava's words hung in the air, hitting Laura like a blow. Laura's smug expression faltered and her face reddened in anger even the sales associate's mouth dropped as they stared at Ava, then glanced back at Laura.Clearly shocked and curious about why Ava said such words. My stomach twisted as I looked into Ava's eyes. She wasn't angry. No, that would have been better and easier to handle. What I saw in her eyes was resignation when someone was done and didn't care anymore. And I got scared. My mind reeled back to last night, the reason I’d missed dinner with Grandpa and Ava. I had planned the dinner myself, thinking it would be a chance to prove to Ava that Laura wasn't my first choice and that my family came first. I even told myself it was time to take a stand and show her that she mattered more than anything or anyone else. But then Laura called on my way to the restaurant. Her voice trembled over the phone, and she cried telling me she couldn't go on anymore

AVA'S POV The days following the jewelry store incident felt like a blur. I buried myself in work and avoided unnecessary interactions with Jason. Grandpa had already returned to his house, though his doctor warned us to still be mindful of his health and to avoid stressing or saying anything that could trigger him. That was a relief, I couldn’t bear pretending everything was fine and the thought of him witnessing the tension between Jason and me. Today, Sally called, insisting I come to her apartment. “I have something to cheer you up,” she said vaguely. I hesitated at first, but Sally’s energy was contagious. If anyone could brighten my mood, it was definitely her. When I arrived, I didn’t expect to see Kevin Tyler lounging on Sally’s couch, holding a glass of wine like he belonged there. “Kevin?” I froze at the door, my mind struggling to process his presence. Kevin Tyler, the professional basketball player, also happened to be Jason’s old friend and someone I had

AVA'S POVJason’s sudden presence in the room turned the carefree atmosphere tense in an instant. “Jason, you came. I thought you said you weren't coming?” Kevin said in a carefree tone, as he stood up to shake Jason's hand, but he ignored him. Instead, his piercing gaze moved from Alex to me, the anger in his eyes evident and undeniable. Kevin seemed to understand the reason for his attitude and simply sat back down beside Sally without saying another word. “Jason,” Alex greeted, his tone polite but Jason ignored him too. His eyes were locked on me completely. “Ava, I need to talk to you now,” he said coldly. I pretended not to have heard him and quickly stood excusing myself, "I’ll be back Alex." My chest tightened as I made my way to the ladies’ room. I needed space, somewhere far from Jason, somewhere to gather my thoughts and calm my nerves. The cool air of the bathroom was a small relief as I leaned against the sink, staring at my reflection. My heart raced. “He

AVA'S POV I could feel my heart racing as the tension in the room rose. Sally and Kevin kept glancing between Jason and Alex not knowing what to say. I looked at Alex and then at Jason. I was done with the drama with Jason. “Okay, Alex…let's go,” I said, trying to stay calm but my heart hammered in my chest. Jason's fist clenched tightly and his eyes flashed with anger but he didn't say anything. “Ava…” he said finally. “I've made my decision,” I interrupted, keeping my voice steady. Sally gave me a proud wink. “Call me when you get home, okay?” I nodded, giving her a small smile. “I will.” “Let’s go,” Alex said gently, his hand resting lightly on my back as he guided me toward the exit. Behind us, Jason’s jaw clenched, and I could almost feel the fury radiating off him. I didn’t look back. Alex looked surprised when I told him I wasn’t going to Jason’s villa but to Sally’s apartment. However, he didn’t ask why, and I felt relieved. The ride there was quiet at first, but

I couldn't sleep last night after returning home from the club because I didn't find Ava anywhere in the house. I tried calling both her and Alex and neither of them answered my call. I was restless the whole night, my thoughts running wild as I waited for the day to break. It's not that I didn't trust Ava – I do. It's Alex I don't trust. Early this morning, I rushed out of the house like a madman to confirm Ava’s whereabouts, without even taking a proper shower so I couldn’t just give up. Not yet! “Ava, please,” I pleaded again, my voice breaking slightly. Her eyes stayed cold. “Don’t make me do it, Jason.” I felt like I was standing on the edge of a cliff, and Ava was the one pushing me off. I wanted to argue, to plead with her to listen, but something about her tone told me it would

JASON'S POV Stacks of paperwork covered my desk, demanding my attention. Contracts, approvals, financial reports – I had barely made a dent in them, yet the day was already slipping away. My head throbbed from lack of sleep, but I forced myself to focus. Ben hadn’t gotten back to me yet concerning what I told him to look into. Even Ava has refused to speak with me. I tapped my pen against the desk, staring at the untouched papers in front of me. I found it impossible to concentrate on work. My mind kept circling back to that one question – the one that had haunted me ever since Laura spat out her bitter words. The thought had consumed me, making sleep a distant memory. I exhaled, shaking my head. "Focus Jason." I needed to focus. Just as I reached for a contract, the door to my office burst open. “Jason!” I looked up, frowning as Laura stormed in. Her blonde hair was perfectly styled as always, but her eyes were wild with panic. I clenched my jaw. “What the hell are yo

AVA'S POV Jason didn’t call again. Days had passed since Sally last informed me about his desperate attempts to reach me, but now… nothing. No messages. No calls. Just silence. I should’ve felt relieved, but instead, a part of me remained cautious. Jason wasn’t the type to back down so easily. He had tried calling me endlessly after the Avaris Luxe opening, and then suddenly, he just gave up. Unlikely. I pushed the thought aside as I scrolled through emails, making a mental note of upcoming meetings. Avaris Luxe had only been officially open in America for a short time, and already, things were moving fast. Faster than I expected. Just then, a soft knock sounded at my door. “Come in,” I called, not looking up. The door opened, and Sally walked in, a small smirk on her face as she clutched her tablet. “You’re going to love this,” she said, sliding into the chair across from me. I leaned back, arching a brow. “That depends. What is it?” She tapped a few times on her s

AVA'S POV After dropping Emma off at school, I wasted no time getting back into the car. The moment I shut the door, I let out a quiet breath, steadying myself. Today was important. My first official day running Avaris Luxe in America. I couldn’t afford to be late, not when I had spent the past three years building myself up for this moment. As the car moved through the streets, I tapped my fingers lightly against my lap. My mind was already racing with everything I had to do meetings, reports, and ensuring everything was running smoothly. But despite all that, a part of me still lingered on what had just happened at Darton School.I hadn’t expected to run into Laura there of all places. But seeing her with that little boy confirmed what I already knew she was still as manipulative as ever. Using her own son to make a statement, to remind me that she still held some power. But she was wrong. I wasn’t the same woman she had once tried to destroy, the same woman she had made lose h

JASON’S POV Laura’s heels clicked loudly against the marble floor as she stormed out of my office. I could see the hurt on her face, but I felt nothing. Once, I might have cared. Once, I might have tried to explain myself, to soften my words, to make her feel better. But not anymore. I had spent years thinking about her feelings – years that had cost me everything. Even when I was married to Ava, Laura had been a shadow in my life, always there, always pushing her way in. And I had let her. I had been too weak to shut her out completely because of the debt I owed her parents, and it had destroyed my marriage. It had cost me Ava. It had cost me my child. Or at least, that’s what I had believed. I ran a hand through my hair, exhaling slowly. Ava had a daughter. The words played in my head over and over again. Laura had said it so bitterly, so smugly, as if she wanted to rip my heart out. "While you were being loyal to a woman who divorced you and left you, she was busy moving

LAURA’S POV The moment I saw her, my blood boiled. Ava. Even her name left a bitter taste in my mouth. Standing there in her perfectly fitted dress, looking calm and collected, as if she hadn’t just humiliated Jason and me in front of the entire city. As if she hadn’t made a spectacle out of us, dragging Jason out like some common criminal while the media had a field day. It had been two days, but the shame still burned inside me. Every news outlet, every social media post – everyone was talking about it. I couldn’t step into a boutique without hearing whispers. Even at the charity luncheon I attended yesterday, some women were still giggling about it, hiding their smirks behind their champagne glasses. But here Ava was, acting like nothing happened. I clenched my fists, my nails digging into my palm. I wanted to yell at her, slap her hard to wipe that calm expression off her face, but I wouldn’t embarrass myself in front of all these people. Parents were everywhere, dr

  • Goodbye, Ex-Husband, Next Please   CHAPTER 0127

AVA'S POV The morning sun filtered through the curtains, casting a soft glow across the room. Today was a big day. Not just for Emma, but for me too. I returned to America not as an employee, but as the CEO of Avaris Luxe. The power in that title sent a quiet thrill through me. The past three years have transformed me into someone stronger, someone who no longer waited for things to happen but made them happen. But before all that, there was something more important Emma. Her excited giggles filled the room as she bounced on the bed, already wide awake. “Aunt Ava, wake up! It’s my first day of school!” I smiled as I sat up, running my hand through her soft curls. Her big, bright eyes were filled with excitement, her small feet kicking under the covers. “I know, sweetheart,” I said, playfully tugging her nose. “Let’s get you ready, okay?” She nodded eagerly and jumped off the bed, running to the wardrobe. Watching her reminded me of how much had changed. Three years ago, I

JASON'S POV My world stopped, I couldn't breathe as my eyes locked on the woman on the stage. Ava was here. Three years. Three damn years, and now she was standing right in front of me. Not as the woman I once held in my arms, not as the love I lost, but as her. The CEO of Avaris Luxe. The woman who had just taken the entire room’s breath away. I didn’t even hear half of what she said in her speech. My ears were ringing, my head spinning. All I could do was stare at her at the way she carried herself, at the cold confidence in her eyes. I swallowed hard, my grip tightened on my glass. My heart was pounding so loudly that I was sure Laura could hear it. My whole body was focused on the woman standing before me. The applause erupted as she finished her speech, and I barely registered the sound. My vision was locked on her as Alex Grey stepped forward. He smiled at her. He reached out and she took his hand. A muscle ticked in my jaw. Alex leaned in, whispering something in her

LAURA'S POV The atmosphere shifted the moment the lights dimmed. A hush fell over the grand hall, conversations dying as if the entire room had taken a collective breath in anticipation. “Ladies and gentlemen, please welcome the CEO of Avaris Luxe.” The announcer’s voice echoed through the vast space, commanding attention. I straightened, my grip tightening around Jason’s arm as my heart pounded with excitement. Finally. The mysterious owner of Avaris Luxe was stepping into the light. The entire world had speculated about the person behind the brand rumors whispered of a secretive, powerful figure, someone untouchable, someone who controlled an empire with nothing but vision and ruthless ambition. I lifted my chin, my posture poised as my eyes locked onto the stage. All around me, I could hear the hushed murmurs, the quiet gasps of anticipation. The spotlight flickered. A poised, confident figure stepped onto the stage. And the air in my lungs vanished. My fingers, still

LAURA’S POV The day had finally arrived. The Avaris Luxe grand opening – the most exclusive event of the year. A night of luxury, power, and influence. I had spent days preparing for this. The moment I would step onto that red carpet beside Jason, the cameras would capture us, and the world would finally see what I had always known – I was Jason Campbell’s future wife. I stood in front of my full-length mirror, adjusting the neckline of my dress. The deep emerald silk draped over my body like liquid, hugging every curve in the most flattering way. It was bold but refined, the kind of dress that demanded attention. Under the lights, the fabric shimmered, exuding power and confidence. Exactly what I wanted. Jason’s suit matched my dress, a detail I had carefully planned. I had picked out everything – his cufflinks, his tie, even the exact shade of fabric. When the designer sent it over, I had fully expected Jason to refuse, to toss it aside as he did with everything I tried to
