December 10, 2023. Chapter 1-2. The next chapter will be before midnight or after. Thank you for your patience.
"Shauna! Where are you?" Lily kicked the door to a private room and startled the guests inside. "Miss, please. You are disturbing our guests," an employee of the Club Lux said. "Sandy, blonde hair girl with a cute face! Ring a bell yet? Until you tell me where she is, I won't stop kicking doors open!" Lily angrily declared. This was the third private room she had broken into, but there were no signs of Shauna. Of course, upon her entry, bouncers tried to stop Lily, but she flashed her military ID and handgun. She declared that she was there to save her friend in trouble. The male receptionist tried to help find Shauna, but the club was dark, and they had too many clients that night, so he could not distinguish Shauna. "Sir, maybe the VIP room?" One bouncer suggested. "Mister Jace Hernandez is celebrating his birthday with a few guests. I'm pretty sure his friends brought women." The male receptionist instantly frowned. He stuttered, "No. No." He looked at Lily and said, "Whoev
The day before, Shauna left the Thompson Group of Companies desolated. She blamed herself for bringing up the old days when she and Lucas were kids. In the end, Lucas slapped her with the truth, and his words continued to cut like a knife. Why did she even fall for Lucas? If only she had fallen in love with someone else, life would not have been so hard for her. Shauna had been driving around the city for half an hour. She did not want to go home. Just then, a text came in. She read it after parking on the side of the road. Blake: [Hey, Shauna. How are you doing? Please give me a chance to take you out.] Blake Wilson was Shauna's old high school classmate. They met again through a common friend when she returned to Rose Hills. Since then, he has been asking her out. The guy was above average. His family owned three grocery stores in the city. He was handsome enough. He had very light brown hair and green eyes. What Shauna disliked about him was the fact that Blake lived a ca
Lucas was speaking to his Uncle Sean and Aunt Reese outside Shauna's room. Reese was Shauna's mother. "They are still talking inside," Lucas said while peeking through the door. "But Lily has texted me the names responsible. Looks like Shauna opened up to her about it." Reese wept in Sean's chest. She wondered, "Why couldn't Shauna tell us?" "Aunt, I think it's normal for her to open up to Lily. She saved Shauna. Moreover, Shauna is probably ashamed to tell you for now. Give her time," Lucas suggested. "There you are," a familiar voice called. "I came to get some case study files, and then I learned from one of the doctors that you are all here. So I came looking for you!" The person who arrived was Lucas' mother, Doctor Shantelle. She was smiling, but when she saw their panicked expression, she asked, "What's going on?" Lucas was usually composed, but he suddenly felt uneasy. This was not part of his plan. He meant to visit his mother later in the day, but instead, she was the
"Aiden, we shouldn't be disturbing anyone," A man in a black suit tried to get the boy back to walking with him, but the young man wasn't following. The man looked like he was in his late twenties or early thirties, and he appeared to be the boy's bodyguard. "I'm not disturbing her. She could use a Twix!" the boy declared. "Well, she has her Twix now. Let's not bother her," the man said. He then turned to Shantelle and remarked, "Ma'am, I'm sorry about this. Aiden can be very stubborn -" "I'm not stubborn," Aiden objected. "I'm just determined. There is a difference! I want to befriend this lady, and nothing is wrong with that!" "It's - It's fine," Shantelle ultimately said, stopping the bodyguard from taking Aiden away. "If it's okay with you, Mister. I like talking to him." "I -" Despite having just cried, she forced a smile. She wiped her face again and said, "I miss kids, and he is pretty adorable." "See? She said I'm adorable! Aiden turned to the man and said with a smirk.
"Yes, he is my son. Before I left, I got Lily pregnant, but I did not know." Lucas' reply on the phone continued to ring in her head. Her heart would not stop racing. 'Oh, my god!' She thought. 'Lily fell pregnant, and she raised Aiden on her own?' She felt a mix of emotions. Shantelle wound up ending the call, feeling angry and sad at the same time. Shantelle felt profound sadness upon discovering that Aiden had been without his father for ten years. The idea of her grandchild turning to Twix for comfort added to her heartache. She was even more sad that she had not learned about him. Then, she was disappointed at how Lucas dealt with things and how Lily kept Aiden from her and Evan. Out of nowhere, she felt someone tug on her dress. Shantelle turned around and saw Aiden standing next to her. He said, "Grandma, are you okay? It looks like your problem is serious. You should have another Twix." Then, before Shantelle could reply, Aiden hugged her around the waist. He said, "An
"Can we put Aiden to bed?" Evan requested from Lily and Lucas. "Does he still listen to bedtime stories?" Shantelle asked. "Does he want a glass of milk and a cookie before going to bed?" "Oh, I love bedtime stories!" Aiden responded with enthusiasm. Lily nearly coughed out blood at his son's answer because Aiden graduated relatively early from bedtime stories. At six, he was already learning basic coding for kids. Bedtime stories bore him, but he wanted to hear one from Lucas' mother. "Great!" Shantelle happily asked, "What book would you like me to read for you, Aiden?" "I like anything, Grandma," Aiden claimed. Much to his dismay, Shantelle urged, "Come on. You should have a favorite one. We can just d******d it online." Panic flashed in Aiden's eyes as he turned to Lily for help. Lily mouthed a book she used to read him when he was five, but he couldn't read her lips from where he was. So, Aiden replied to Shantelle, "I - I like One Piece!" "It's very nice! I love Monke
Lily and Lucas were back at the Thompsons' mansion on Monday afternoon. Lucas took an early off from work to introduce Aiden to his siblings. While waiting for everyone to arrive, they settled in the garden's Gazebo. The Gazebo was surrounded by a beautiful selection of plants and flowers. The fragrance of roses hung in the air, contributing to the newfound calmness in Lily's heart. "Hiya! Hiya!" Aiden was showing his grandpa some moves from a distance, and just as he simulated his powerhouse kick, Evan groaned and clutched his groin. "Oh, my -" Lily gasped in horror. She had just reconciled with Lucas' parents, and her son had to kick his grandpa's balls? Lucas immediately ran to their side, but Evan laughed very quickly. He said, "Got you!" Lucas was a good five meters away, and he remarked, "Dad, seriously." Aiden pointed at Evan and then to Lucas. He laughed and said, "Grandpa Evan is a fox!" The three men, who bore a resemblance to each other, laughed at what happened. T
"Relax, Aiden will be fine," Lucas said. "He is with Mom and Dad." "Oh, I'm not worried about that. I - I guess I'll miss Aiden?" Lily turned to Lucas and asked. "Do we really have to be away for two days?" "This day doesn't count for a whole day, Lily. It's four in the afternoon," Lucas objected. "So, we will only be away for thirty-two hours." They still had bodyguards following them around, but Lucas was driving his Lexus, while the other bodyguards were in their own cars. Lucas said they were heading to the highlands of Rose Hills, another property he bought upon his return. "Is it safe?" Lily asked. "It's very safe there," Lucas confirmed. Lily was silent for a good few minutes during the drive. Then, she recalled the night before and how welcoming Lucas' siblings were. She remarked, "How come? How come Marcus or any of your sisters were not angry at me?" "I had made it clear to them that you and Aiden are my happiness. I'm pretty sure they had a talk with Mom and Dad."
Hi Readers, I did not realize until last week that some of you were trying to access The CEO's Ex-Wife Is A Famous Doctor. To those who were wondering, there is a new version of the book with a few chapters of Lucas' story attached. Dear Beloved Readers, Thank you for supporting me with Lucas and Lily's story. I also appreciate the care and patience you have shown me over the past two weeks. I have a few announcements. So, here it goes. Author's Health. After what happened to my eyes, I realized that I must give time for myself. And it is not just my eyes; I have gained weight. Lol. I blamed it on the holidays, but it's already March. In line with this, I will take it a little slow in my next book, enough for my eyes to rest so they won't get strained from all the screen time. I know you are all used to me delivering two chapters daily on most days, but in the next book, I will probably publish an average of nine to ten chapters per week. I need this badly, so I am asking for your understanding. Note that you can always read at the end of the week or after the book is completed. What book will I publish next? I know you love the Wrights and the Thompsons, but I have been advised to write outside the s
Four years passed. ~"You might have a mom, she might be the bombBut ain't nobody got a mom like mineHer love's 'til the end, she's my best friendAin't nobody got a mom like mine" ~ Dancing to the tune of "Mom" by Meghan Trainor, the children danced in simple steps to appreciate their mommies on Mother's Day. This was a gathering that Amara had organized for the mothers in their family and close friends. The seven-year-olds, Autumn and Maeve, and the four-year-old Ivaan were forming hearts with their fingers, and together with Shauna's and Anna's daughters, they found partners to sway along to the music. Shauna's daughter, Mareese, was nearly seven, while her son, Shawn, was three. While Mareese had Shauna's looks, Shawn was a definite copy of his dad. Shawn was less coordinated with the other kids dancing, and that was because he thought dancing was only for girls. Still, Shauna appreciated her son's efforts. Anna's daughter was dancing with the group too. Ryan and Anna nam
Over three months passed. "Ready for our first round?" Aiden asked with narrowed eyes. "Ready!" Autumn and Maeve said at the same time. His sisters were in the playroom with him, smiling from ear to ear. Earlier, Autumn and Maeve were unhappy because they missed Lucas and Lily. Their mother had been confined for four days since she had another C-section to deliver their baby brother. To cheer them up, Aiden went the extra mile and created a fun activity for them on a Friday afternoon. Together with the caregivers, Aiden cut out large and various shapes in different colors. The mechanics of the game was simple. Aiden would dictate the shape and color, and they would step on it. The highest number of correct answers would be awarded a prize. "Blue star!" Aiden said, and his sisters scrambled to find a blue star and step on it. "Next, an orange circle!" Aiden added. "Green square! Red triangle!" They did not necessarily get all of them. Like how Autumn thought orange was re
Six months passed. Ryan and Anna's wedding was held at The Green Pine Restaurant and Lodge. Around the venue, candles flickered, and soft fabrics moved in the mountain wind, making everything feel magical. The wedding happened under the moonlit sky, and the hills stood in the background, watching as two people joined their lives together. As the celebration extended, the couple had a romantic dance at the end, swaying to the tune of "Lover" by Taylor Swift. Ryan wore a black suit, while Anna wore a mermaid wedding dress. ~ "Can I go where you go?Can we always be this close forever and ever? And ah, take me out, and take me home (forever and ever)You're my, my, my, myLover?" ~ Ryan had a big smile on his face, his eyes glued to his now wife while Anna looked at her husband adoringly, her hands wrapped around his neck. Anna's eyes were gleaming, her red hair adorned with gems tied into a beautiful bun behind her head. Halfway through the song, Anna and Ryan looked around. An
Over one year passed. "Ladies and gentlemen, distinguished guests, and nature enthusiasts," Axel said while addressing everyone in the crowd. He was standing before a podium and on a makeshift stage. Surrounding him stretched a vast expanse of land adorned with lush green grass, while the venue for the press conference was sheltered by the shade of trees and pines. "A warm welcome to all of you on this glorious day as we gather to celebrate the grand opening of The Green Pine Restaurant and Lodge." Axel smiled as he stared into the eyes of those watching him. He resumed, "Today is a testament to the harmonious blend of nature, hospitality, and my family's love for farming." "This farm resort is a dream realized - a way for us to bring you the countryside and do what we love to do as a family. We, the Greens, love to farm," Axel proudly announced. "Just an hour away from the Rose Hills proper, you can escape the hustle and bustle of city life and immerse yourself in the beauty of
"My feet are killing me," Anna complained after she, Lily, and Shauna went shopping for clothes for the past four hours on a Saturday afternoon. Shauna bought maternity clothes, while Lily and Anna bought clothes for themselves. They all rested on one of the benches inside the mall. Anna and Shauna took both ends of the bench while Lily sat in the middle. Once settled, Lily asked, "Is the baby coming out yet?" The idea of going to the mall was Shauna's. She was already forty weeks pregnant, but she had no signs of going into labor. She thought that strolling around would help. Shauna rested her shopping bags on the floor. She touched her belly and said, "No, I don't feel anything." Suddenly, Anna screamed, "Ouch! Luke! What the -" "Anna, come back with me!" Out of nowhere, Luke appeared, and he grabbed Anna's wrist. Luke did not appear well. His hair was disheveled, and he had dark bags under his eyes. He begged, "Anna, please forgive me." "Luke, what are you doing? Didn't R
### MARCUS' FLASHBACK ### "Hey, Guys! Can I join you?" Kamila said while taking the vacant seat next to Lace. "Looks like our parents have made a huddle of their own." "Of course. They always do that," Lace replied. "We should have a gathering of our own." "I'll go to join Samuel and the others," Amara said, referring to their uncle Sean's second son. "Go," Marcus said. It was always like this during gatherings; they split into different groups. "Let's drink," Kamila proposed with a mischievous smile. Marcus laughed. He looked back, searching for Keith, and when he found Kamila's father having a drink with Evan and their other uncles, he said, "So, that's why you came here." "Yeah, good luck getting a drink when I am near Dad," Kamila remarked, and she laughed. "He does let me drink, but not too much." "I think not too much is okay," Marcus commented, but either way, he asked a food server for another bottle of wine. He winked at Kamila and assured her, "Don't worry, I'll
Louise was celebrating inside. Finally, for the first time, Keith Henderson would see that Kamila wasn't the perfect daughter he had assumed her to be. Since the Hendersons had granted her a scholarship, Louise had seen how easy Kamila's life had always been. She realized that life was so unfair. Here was Kamila, tall and beautiful with long and shiny black hair. She was often the center of attention during their college years, leaving Louise in the backseat. In the past, Louise earnestly appreciated Kamila, but the more she was exposed to how the Hendersons lived, the more she coveted Kamila's life. Louise would have had a chance to live that luxury if only she had been chosen for the management trainee position for Prima MedCare. The problem was that Kamila was in the way of her dreams. It was obvious that Keith Henderson, being the CEO of the insurance company, would prefer to bring in his daughter rather than an outsider. Knowing this, Louise had been trying to find a way t
