Lily's eyes lit up when Shauna called and asked about pregnancy symptoms. She screamed at the top of her lungs, "Oh, my god! Oh, my god, Shauna, congratulations! I can't believe it! You are -" "That's the thing! I don't think I am pregnant. The other day, I thought that my breast was swollen, and I have been feeling tired lately, but when I took a pregnancy test this afternoon, it was negative," Shauna responded on the phone, sounding woeful. Then, the next thing Lily heard was Shauna's sobbing. Shauna whispered her fears, "What if I'm barren? What if I'll never have a child with Axel's good looks? Then, Axel would leave me and -" "Haha!" Lily laughed her heart out. She was so amused at Shauna that her eyes watered. She said, "Shauna, Axel won't leave you. He loves you! Stop that. You are getting married! You are a little too dramatic, don't you think?" "Look, I did not get pregnant right away. It took Lucas and me a few tries before I got pregnant. Take your time. Enjoy your tim
"Doctor Chan? What is it?" Shantelle asked. The good doctor was acquainted with Shantelle. Doctors, despite having different specialties, often run into each other. "Doctor Shant." The obstetrician said before turning to Lucas, "Doctor Thompson. There is a super stealthy baby." "Super stealthy baby?" Lily asked. "What? Stealthy?" Aiden asked. "My brother or sister is sneaking around?" "Oh, my god," Shantelle finally spoke. "Are you saying -" "Yes," the doctor confirmed. "What?" Lily asked. Her face looked more complicated in each second that passed. "Mo/mo?" Lucas asked. "Yes, Doctor Thompson," Doctor Chan responded. "Mo/mo." "Mo/mo?" Evan was baffled. "Oh, my god! Mo/mo!" Shantelle said with her eyes widening. "What in the world is going on? And what is Mo/mo? Can somebody please speak English for me?" Lily requested, unable to bear the mystery. Evan laughed. He declared, "Lily, you'll have to get used to it. When you marry a doctor, you will often hear medical terms
"Come on, Aiden. Let's go get your mommy," Lucas said as he walked to the lift with Ryan, Axel, and his parents. "Coming, Dad!" Aiden responded while chasing after Lucas. Lily had texted Lucas that she and Shauna had gone to Ryan's condo with Anna. His assistant had miraculously accepted a female housemate, and the same had easily become friends with Lily and Shauna. They walked past Axel's condo first, and the latter let Abner and Martha in before they all made it to Ryan's flat. When they all entered Ryan's home, Lucas' brows drew together. Lucas stood by the living room, noticing the apparent changes to Ryan's abode. Ryan's previously black throw pillows were now covered in blue-green. He had a vase and a flower in the living room, and his curtains were also in the same shade as the throw pillows. "Sir, would you like some coffee? I have some Brazilian coffee beans," Ryan offered. "Would love some cappuccino," Lucas said. "Can you call my wife for me too?" "Here! Here!
"Do you, Axel Green, take Shauna Ross to be your lawful wife, to have and to hold from this day forward, for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and health, until death do you part." "I do," Axel said with a bright smile. "Do you, Shauna Ross, take Axel Green to be your lawful husband, to have and to hold from this day forward, for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and health, until death do you part." When it was Shauna's turn to respond, a whirlwind of emotions swept through her. There was this sense of deep happiness, an acknowledgment of the commitment she was about to make. Her eyes glistened with a touch of sentimental tears. She sniffed delicately and said, "I do." After a few words of wisdom from the officiant, he announced, "Please help me welcome Mr. Axel and Mrs. Shauna Green!" Hoots and applauses filled the air, welcoming Shauna and Axel as a married couple. Before they knew it, it was time to kiss the bride. "Go get her, Man,
Ryan and Anna had brunch at the Diamond Hotel's main restaurant. After leaving their rooms, they were mostly silent, as if deciding what to say to each other next. Anna had to admit Ryan's admission that he liked her made things different. They were being cautious of each other's presence. Eventually, Ryan broke the ice. He laughed and said, "This is part of my plan. I would flirt with you, but I'd rather seduce you with my awkwardness." Anna froze. Then, she laughed her heart out. She replied, "This is an entirely different side of you. You've always been so serious." Ryan smiled. He wiped his lips with a table napkin and said, "This is me trying." Anna studied Ryan's face. She liked the lines on the corners of his mouth when he smiled. It looked almost like dimples. Ryan always looked neat. He often styled his blond hair. But today, unlike his usual suit and tie, Ryan wore a grey shirt and dark jacket, which still made him look good. It hid his muscles well, but that was oka
Lily and Lucas stared at the glass window from their bedroom. "This is tempered glass, right?" Lily asked. "Yes," Lucas replied. "Only the most powerful weapon could shatter the glass." Lucas walked back to the bedside table of their room and pressed a button beneath it. Suddenly, panels emerged from the side, covering the glass windows. He said, "To be safe, we can protect the glass." Thunder roared in the skies, and rain poured harder. The lights suddenly went out, but the generator picked up after a minute, and the power was back again. "This isn't good. We aren't going anywhere at this point," Lucas remarked. "And by the looks of it, the internet will be gone too." "Oh," Lily paused and bit her lip. "What about Leonardo Gelato? Hahaha." A day before Shauna's wedding, Doctor Chan suggested that Lily eat some sweets, hoping it would help baby number two to get moving during the second ultrasound. So, she did. They had dropped by this newly opened Gelato shop near the hosp
Since the storm had hit Rose Hills, Anna and Ryan had spent their days cooking their meals together, visiting Axel's parents, and mostly, cuddling in the living room and watching the rain. In the past few days, Ryan has not missed showing off his abs, and Anna swears he looks gorgeous. How she wished she could touch his broad chest and chiseled stomach. Ryan had always worked out in the gym, but now that the hotel was conserving energy, the gym and other facilities were temporarily closed. Anna saw him do his pushups in the living room the other day. Yep, she saw him half-naked again, his sweat tracing his muscles and his long legs stretched on the carpeted floor. It was the second time Anna concluded that Ryan was definitely yummy. Quite a few times, they had shared a kiss. She and Ryan had kissed four times, with Ryan taking the initiative. Each time, it was always mind-blowing, heart-pumping and breathtaking. Of course, Anna did not reveal those exciting feelings when thei
Days came and went. The storm passed, but the Thompson Group of Companies still did not open its office building due to property damages that required repair and replacements. Lucas had ordered most of his employees to work from home, given that their home environment could accommodate it. Some employees were sent to nearby city branches and off-site offices. Some held office at the Diamond Hotel. It allowed Lucas to stay home with his family while caring for Lily's pregnancy demands. Lily was not only starting to have cravings, but she had occasionally been forgetful. Lucas remembered covering this in some conferences with other doctors. They called it the pregnancy brain. During pregnancy, the body would send a flood of fluctuating hormones, like a truckload of different sizes and flavors, affecting all kinds of neurons in the brain. These physiological changes in the brain often cause women to experience memory problems, poor concentration, and absentmindedness. With this kn
Hi Readers, I did not realize until last week that some of you were trying to access The CEO's Ex-Wife Is A Famous Doctor. To those who were wondering, there is a new version of the book with a few chapters of Lucas' story attached. If you are trying to re-read your unlocked chapters, kindly search for the old version in your library. Another option is to go to your profile in the app, go to your wallet, and then check "episodes unlocked." If you have any questions, concerns, or suggestions, you can find me on social. It's the best way to make an inquiry because I don't get notifications for reviews or comments. Sincerely, LiLhyz
Dear Beloved Readers, Thank you for supporting me with Lucas and Lily's story. I also appreciate the care and patience you have shown me over the past two weeks. I have a few announcements. So, here it goes. Author's Health. After what happened to my eyes, I realized that I must give time for myself. And it is not just my eyes; I have gained weight. Lol. I blamed it on the holidays, but it's already March. In line with this, I will take it a little slow in my next book, enough for my eyes to rest so they won't get strained from all the screen time. I know you are all used to me delivering two chapters daily on most days, but in the next book, I will probably publish an average of nine to ten chapters per week. I need this badly, so I am asking for your understanding. Note that you can always read at the end of the week or after the book is completed. What book will I publish next? I know you love the Wrights and the Thompsons, but I have been advised to write outside the s
Four years passed. ~"You might have a mom, she might be the bombBut ain't nobody got a mom like mineHer love's 'til the end, she's my best friendAin't nobody got a mom like mine" ~ Dancing to the tune of "Mom" by Meghan Trainor, the children danced in simple steps to appreciate their mommies on Mother's Day. This was a gathering that Amara had organized for the mothers in their family and close friends. The seven-year-olds, Autumn and Maeve, and the four-year-old Ivaan were forming hearts with their fingers, and together with Shauna's and Anna's daughters, they found partners to sway along to the music. Shauna's daughter, Mareese, was nearly seven, while her son, Shawn, was three. While Mareese had Shauna's looks, Shawn was a definite copy of his dad. Shawn was less coordinated with the other kids dancing, and that was because he thought dancing was only for girls. Still, Shauna appreciated her son's efforts. Anna's daughter was dancing with the group too. Ryan and Anna nam
Over three months passed. "Ready for our first round?" Aiden asked with narrowed eyes. "Ready!" Autumn and Maeve said at the same time. His sisters were in the playroom with him, smiling from ear to ear. Earlier, Autumn and Maeve were unhappy because they missed Lucas and Lily. Their mother had been confined for four days since she had another C-section to deliver their baby brother. To cheer them up, Aiden went the extra mile and created a fun activity for them on a Friday afternoon. Together with the caregivers, Aiden cut out large and various shapes in different colors. The mechanics of the game was simple. Aiden would dictate the shape and color, and they would step on it. The highest number of correct answers would be awarded a prize. "Blue star!" Aiden said, and his sisters scrambled to find a blue star and step on it. "Next, an orange circle!" Aiden added. "Green square! Red triangle!" They did not necessarily get all of them. Like how Autumn thought orange was re
Six months passed. Ryan and Anna's wedding was held at The Green Pine Restaurant and Lodge. Around the venue, candles flickered, and soft fabrics moved in the mountain wind, making everything feel magical. The wedding happened under the moonlit sky, and the hills stood in the background, watching as two people joined their lives together. As the celebration extended, the couple had a romantic dance at the end, swaying to the tune of "Lover" by Taylor Swift. Ryan wore a black suit, while Anna wore a mermaid wedding dress. ~ "Can I go where you go?Can we always be this close forever and ever? And ah, take me out, and take me home (forever and ever)You're my, my, my, myLover?" ~ Ryan had a big smile on his face, his eyes glued to his now wife while Anna looked at her husband adoringly, her hands wrapped around his neck. Anna's eyes were gleaming, her red hair adorned with gems tied into a beautiful bun behind her head. Halfway through the song, Anna and Ryan looked around. An
Over one year passed. "Ladies and gentlemen, distinguished guests, and nature enthusiasts," Axel said while addressing everyone in the crowd. He was standing before a podium and on a makeshift stage. Surrounding him stretched a vast expanse of land adorned with lush green grass, while the venue for the press conference was sheltered by the shade of trees and pines. "A warm welcome to all of you on this glorious day as we gather to celebrate the grand opening of The Green Pine Restaurant and Lodge." Axel smiled as he stared into the eyes of those watching him. He resumed, "Today is a testament to the harmonious blend of nature, hospitality, and my family's love for farming." "This farm resort is a dream realized - a way for us to bring you the countryside and do what we love to do as a family. We, the Greens, love to farm," Axel proudly announced. "Just an hour away from the Rose Hills proper, you can escape the hustle and bustle of city life and immerse yourself in the beauty of
"My feet are killing me," Anna complained after she, Lily, and Shauna went shopping for clothes for the past four hours on a Saturday afternoon. Shauna bought maternity clothes, while Lily and Anna bought clothes for themselves. They all rested on one of the benches inside the mall. Anna and Shauna took both ends of the bench while Lily sat in the middle. Once settled, Lily asked, "Is the baby coming out yet?" The idea of going to the mall was Shauna's. She was already forty weeks pregnant, but she had no signs of going into labor. She thought that strolling around would help. Shauna rested her shopping bags on the floor. She touched her belly and said, "No, I don't feel anything." Suddenly, Anna screamed, "Ouch! Luke! What the -" "Anna, come back with me!" Out of nowhere, Luke appeared, and he grabbed Anna's wrist. Luke did not appear well. His hair was disheveled, and he had dark bags under his eyes. He begged, "Anna, please forgive me." "Luke, what are you doing? Didn't R
### MARCUS' FLASHBACK ### "Hey, Guys! Can I join you?" Kamila said while taking the vacant seat next to Lace. "Looks like our parents have made a huddle of their own." "Of course. They always do that," Lace replied. "We should have a gathering of our own." "I'll go to join Samuel and the others," Amara said, referring to their uncle Sean's second son. "Go," Marcus said. It was always like this during gatherings; they split into different groups. "Let's drink," Kamila proposed with a mischievous smile. Marcus laughed. He looked back, searching for Keith, and when he found Kamila's father having a drink with Evan and their other uncles, he said, "So, that's why you came here." "Yeah, good luck getting a drink when I am near Dad," Kamila remarked, and she laughed. "He does let me drink, but not too much." "I think not too much is okay," Marcus commented, but either way, he asked a food server for another bottle of wine. He winked at Kamila and assured her, "Don't worry, I'll
Louise was celebrating inside. Finally, for the first time, Keith Henderson would see that Kamila wasn't the perfect daughter he had assumed her to be. Since the Hendersons had granted her a scholarship, Louise had seen how easy Kamila's life had always been. She realized that life was so unfair. Here was Kamila, tall and beautiful with long and shiny black hair. She was often the center of attention during their college years, leaving Louise in the backseat. In the past, Louise earnestly appreciated Kamila, but the more she was exposed to how the Hendersons lived, the more she coveted Kamila's life. Louise would have had a chance to live that luxury if only she had been chosen for the management trainee position for Prima MedCare. The problem was that Kamila was in the way of her dreams. It was obvious that Keith Henderson, being the CEO of the insurance company, would prefer to bring in his daughter rather than an outsider. Knowing this, Louise had been trying to find a way t
