"I know, Blakey. I'm useless, aren't I? I have this strange illness and have become a burden to you and Yasmin..." Elise sounded increasingly pitiful as she spoke. Her tears flowed ceaselessly.

Blake felt helpless and handed her a tissue. "It's not your fault. No one wants to be sick. Don't think too much about it," he comforted her.

"Okay." Elise nodded and asked sadly, "Blakey, you won't leave me, right?"

"No, I won't."

Yasmin came downstairs at that moment and happened to overhear their conversation.

In the morning glow, she glanced over to find the man standing tall and strikingly handsome. The woman with him was delicate and pure.

She asked him not to leave her, and he made her a promise.

Yasmin's heart turned cold.

She didn't want to be upset, but she felt suffocated.

Yasmin didn't feel like eating anymore, so she grabbed her bag and prepared to go to work.

"Yasmin." Blake looked up and saw her. She was changing her shoes at the door, obviously about to leave.
