Chapter 33 The Xia Family's Interrogation

When she entered the living room, A Miao realized that it was not the right time to come back.

"You still know you should come back!" Xia Mei was going to yell at A Miao when she saw a few people standing behind A Miao. She was stunned, and Xia Wan pushed her away before she came to her senses.

"Mr. Shen!" Xia Wan shouted in surprise. When her gaze fell on A Miao, she turned her words into a question, "What are you doing with Mr. Shen?"

No one answered her.

A Miao didn't know how to answer her, while Shen Xinglan did not care to answer.

"Hey, I didn't lie to you!" Bai Youran walked out from behind. "I told you that she ran away with a man, but you don't believe me!"

Xia Mei immediately yelled as well, "I am going to tell Grandpa. The Bai family will not want a woman like you."

"Xia Mei!" Xia Wan hurriedly stopped her. "Let her talk. Maybe there is a misunderstanding!"

A Miao said with a smile until now, "Go! Go quickly."

"Mr. Shen..." Xia Wan felt anxious, but she still wore a lovely smile on her face. She looked at Shen Xinglan and said, "What the hell is going on?!"

Shen Xinglan said indifferently, "You should ask him."

"Does it have something to do with me?" Seeing Shen Xinglan fixed his eyes on him, Bai Youran snorted and said, "I didn't ask her to run with you."

"But you lost her to someone else." Shen Xinglan looked at Xia Wan, "If I didn't happen to win her back, she would have been sold to Africa."

"Get lost? She actually ran with a man." Xia Mei echoed with pleasure.

A Miao stared at her and said, "Are you deaf or have a problem with your brain? Can't you understand what the gentleman said?"

"Enough." Shen Xinglan said impatiently, "I don't want to be involved in your family stuff. I came here to ask for money."

Then everyone was stunned. A Miao stared at him and lowered her head. "I knew that this pervert had evil intention."

"Mr. Shen..."

Shen Xinglan interrupted Xia Wan and said, "I just said that I won her back. In order to do that, I lost 5 million. You should pay me the money."

"Why us?" Xia Mei got excited. That was five million.

Xia Wan shot an angry glance at her and then bitterly bit her lip, "Thank you, Mr. Shen. We will pay you the money. However, I don't have so much money now. It is not right to disturb the elders, so can I give you one million first?"

"Wanwan!" Bai Youran wanted to stop her, but when he saw Xia Wan's eyes, he felt very sorry. He threw the checkbook on the table and quickly wrote a check of five million. "Here you are. I pay you."

Shen I took over the check and had a look before he nodded to Shen Xinglan.

"Well, then we won't interrupt your sisters' gathering." Shen Xinglan looked at A Miao with a meaningful smile on his face, "Excuse me, I'll take my leave now."

Xia Wan said anxiously, "Mr. Shen, please have dinner with us! My grandfather will be back soon, and you can talk about business matters." Then she winked at A Miao.

"I'm tired after the trip and I have to go to rest." A Miao yawned and ignored her before she went straight upstairs.

Seeing this, Bai Youran followed behind her. So did Xia Mei.

Only Xia Wan, who was left and felt angry, had to look at Shen Xinglan with a smile.

"I don't have time. If the Xia family wants to talk to me about business, they can make an appointment and go to my company." Shen Xinglan said that before he turned and left.

Xia Wan looked embarrassed and followed him. When the car left, she trembled, ran back home, and rushed upstairs.

In A Miao's room, Bai Youran was questioning A Miao, "Was it Shen Xinglan who beat me that day?"

"How could I know?" A Miao asked back. "Do you think that I have the time to take care of you back there?"

Xia Mei looked at her with a grudge, "Why are you coming back? You have been sold by Brother Youran. Why are you coming back?"

"I am so lucky!" A Miao was so angry that she smiled. She had never seen such a shameless person. "I was bought back again!" She snorted. "And in the end, it's your Brother Youran who has to pay for this!"

Bai Youran raised his hand and wanted to slap her when an angry voice rang behind him, "What did you say, Xia Mei?"

"Sister..." Xia Mei looked at Bai Youran.

She had known what Bai Youran had done, but Xia Wan had not. Bai Youran told Xia Wan that A Miao ran away and went missing. He also lied to her that he had already reported this to the police.

"No wonder Shen Xinglan said so!" Xia Wan was pissed off by Shen Xinglan before, and now when she knew that Bai Youran even lied to her, she was going to cry.

Bai Youran quickly comforted her, saying, "Don't be angry, I didn't mean it." He warned A Miao with a glance. "It was her who wanted to gamble with others. I couldn't stop her. And I didn't have enough money to give her, so I have to return first."

As soon as she heard this, Xia Wan felt angrier. She wiped off her tears and suppressed her temper, saying, "You can go back now. I will tell my grandfather about this."

Xia Wan really did not want to talk to him. "Enough, it is a great event and I have to tell my grandfather. Don't worry! Even if he knows the truth, he will not blame you."

It took Xia Wan a great effort to send Bai Youran away. Then she anxiously waited until she told all of these to Xia Yongqiang in the evening. When the whole family sat and had dinner together the next morning, Yao Lili yelled as soon as she saw A Miao walking downstairs.

"A Miao, Come over here!"

A Miao leisurely walked to the table and sat down. When she was about to get a piece of bread, Yao Lili patted her hand. "You can't eat. Tell us, how did you make Shen Xinglan send you back?"

Looking at the red fingerprints on the back of her hand, A Miao bit her lip and said, "I don't know, but I think it should be because I am from the Xia family!"

"You must make it clear, bitch! What happened that day exactly?" Yao Lili shouted. "You resemble your mother who seduced men at a young age."

"Boom!" A Miao smashed the table and stood up, shouting, "You are not allowed to defame my mother!"

"Sit down." Xia Yongqiang, who had never spoken, chimed in. "And you, what are you talking about? You are an elder. Is that appropriate for you to say something like this?"

Yao Lili pursed her lips. "I’m just too anxious..."

"A Miao, sit down and tell us. Your aunt is not intentional." Xia Haixin touched A Miao's shoulder.

Enduring the urge to kill these people, A Miao sat down with her fist clenched and stared at Xia Yongqiang, saying, "I was scared that day. I didn't expect Shen Xinglan to suddenly appear and save me. He said..."

"What did he say?" Xia Wan asked anxiously.

A Miao bowed her head and her eyes blinked. "He said that because you were Xia Wan's sister, and I saved you just by lifting one of my fingers."

"Really? Did he really say that?" Yao Lili was more excited than Xia Wan.

Xia Wan frowned. "But when he sent you back yesterday, he was not very nice."

"I don't know." A Miao wore a blank expression. "But I heard him talk to his men on the road. He said that he could not let the Xia family know what he wanted, lest the Bai family be upset when they know it."

Yao Lili still wanted to ask more until she was stopped by her husband's gaze. Xia Yongqiang pondered for a moment, his eyes staring at A Miao. A Miao didn't dodge, but she looked scared.

"Okay, this is the end of the matter." He stood up. "A Miao has to stay at home for a few days. Don't go out."

A Miao cried, ran pass Xia Yongqiang, and madly ascended upstairs.

"Look at her, how uneducated she is." Yao Lili squinted and said. Then she immediately smiled and looked at Xia Wan, "Listen to me, my daughter is so beautiful. How can Shen Xinglan not be tempted?"

Back to the room, A Miao placed the jade pendant in her hand on the table. It was a square jade with a good texture. The strange thing was that a jade bronze mirror was embedded in the middle of the jade.

"Don't you want this? Oh, I will give it to you!" A Miao laughed with a sly look. She took a few pictures of the bronze mirror with her phone and then quickly ran downstairs.

Xia Yongqiang was about to go upstairs when A Miao was rushing toward him.

"Watch out!" Xia Yongqiang pushed her away, and A Miao almost fell down off the stairs. She quickly stood up and said, "I'm sorry, I didn't mean it."

Xia Wan looked unhappy after she muttered with Yao Lili. She helped A Miao up quickly and said, "Grandpa, don't be angry. A Miao will pay attention to it and never run on the stairs!"

"I see. I won’t do this anymore." A Miao lowered her head.

Xia Yongqiang glanced at her impatiently and went upstairs.

A few days later, A Miao was finally able to go out. She went to Shen Xinglan's company using the excuse of returning to her old house.

"Don't you want the bronze mirror?"

Standing in front of the office table of Shen Xinglan, she smiled and said, "Here you are!"
