Chapter 35 Shen Xinglan's Invitation

Receiving this news, the whole Xia family was so ecstatic that the unpleasantness caused by A Miao was gone. Xia Yongqiang was talking to his family doctor when he heard this.

He was supposed to have the physical examination last month. However, the doctor had been away, thus he had to reschedule the medical examination to this month. When Xia Wan came in and told him the news, he forgot to be angry with the doctor anymore. He immediately hung up the phone and asked Xia Wan about it.

"Did he personally invite you?"

"It was from his subordinate. I saw the man last time. He is always with Shen Xinglan." Xia Wan excitedly showed the invitation to Xia Yongqiang. "Shen Xinglan invites me to be his prom date."

Xia Yongqiang took it over to have a look, "A birthday party? I didn't see it in the news..."

"What do you mean, Grandpa?" Xia Wan's smile froze. "Is the invitation a fake?"

She was pissed because the invitation specifically indicated that people who were not invited could not attend the party. Her name was not on it, so she could not go.

"What are you doing?" Xia Wan stopped her. "Put it back."

Xia Mei was going to cry. "Why? Why can she go? Let's see what she wears!" She was going to rip the zipper of the skirt apart.

"If you do this again, I will let Grandpa shut you up!" Xia Wan grabbed the skirt and pushed Xia Mei away.

Xia Mei fell to the ground and couldn't suppress her emotions anymore. She cried out loudly.

"Are you okay? I didn't mean it." Xia Wan's eyes flashed and she reached out to help her up.

"Go away!" Xia Mei pushed her hands away. "I don't need your fake kindness."

Yao Lili was going to scold her when she heard a loud shout.

"Stand up. How uneducated you are!"

Xia Yongqiang walked downstairs and looked at his young granddaughter with a black face.

"Grandpa... I..." Xia Mei was very afraid of Xia Yongqiang. She stood up with the help of the table, sobbing.

"A Miao?" The door was half opened before Xia Wan pushed it and went in.

A Miao just came out from the bathroom, and her bald head was full of water, which looked particularly ridiculous.

"I'm having a fever." A Miao's voice sounded hoarse. She picked up the cup and drank half of the water in it.

"You shall take some pills and have a good sleep. We are going to the banquet tomorrow night together." Xia Wan personally fed A Miao the medicine and helped her cover the quilt. "I will help you hang up the dress. Remember to try it on tomorrow."

A Miao made an ugly smile. Just now, she was still wondering if Xia Wan was giving her the wrong medicine, now it turned out to be the true antipyretic, but... "What banquet? I won’t go."

She coughed and said, "I don't want to go. I don't feel well." This was the truth that a blind man could tell.

Xia Wan touched her head and then she noticed that A Miao's eyes seemed to be different from usual.

"What are you looking at?" A Miao suddenly opened her eyes.

"Is it an illusion?" Xia Wan looked at her carefully and found that they still looked dull.

"Have a rest!" She stood up. "You have to go to the party tomorrow."

After she left, A Miao picked up the mirror from the bedside table and looked into it. She pressed her eyes a few times until she found nothing wrong.

Eastern City was a higher-class place than where the Xia's villa located. Each villa had a different style and there was even a building that looked like a spaceship.

It was also the place where A Miao had been to because it was Shen Xinglan's antique villa.

"You didn't see her?" Shen Xinglan was sitting on a large, high-backed chair. His black night-robe made him look sexy and mysterious.

Shen I shrank his neck. He especially wanted to ask his Boss who he was asking for. But he knew that if he dared to ask, he would definitely be killed.

"I only saw the two ladies of the Xia family." After thinking about it, Shen I asked tentatively, "How about I send someone else there to have a look?"

Shen Xinglan did not speak. He squinted, thinking about something no one knew. After a while, he looked up at Shen I and his expression changed. "Why are you still here? You shall go check personally."

"Ah!" Shen I was stunned and he nodded before his Boss's face darkened. "Yes, got it. I will go right away!"

In the midnight, the security system of the Xia family suddenly stopped running without being noticed by the people who were asleep. A black shadow sneaked into a room on the second floor. Looking at the person sleeping on the bed, he picked up the medicine on the bedside table and poured out a pill. Then he left quickly.

After he left, the red dot on the monitoring camera flashed and the camera resumed operation.

"Wanwan!" The next afternoon, Bai Youran rushed to the Xia's villa.

Xia Mei walked toward him and said, "Brother Youran!"

"Xia Mei, where is your sister?"

"She went out to get her hair done." Xia Mei complained, "My grandfather does not want to take me to the party. Can you take me there?"

Bai Youran had no time for this, so he responded perfunctorily, "You are still young. What are you going to do in that kind of party?" Then he pushed her away and went to the second floor.

A Miao lay down immediately and said, "I won't go."

"It's not up to you." Bai Youran pulled her quilt. "Change it yourself, or I will change it for you!"
