Fern's Perspective

The door clicked shut behind me. I knew I had to face Giovanni alone. His brow was furrowed, his lips pressed together, and his blue eyes, flecked with gold, showed that his wolfishness was closing in.

I tried to cross him, but he stepped closer, forcing me to back away until I was pressed against the door. With nowhere else to go, I watched with wide eyes as he leaned toward me. His breath fanned my cheeks, his firm, ripped body pressed against mine, and his tone was dangerous.

"Say it again..." The growl in his voice made me shiver with fear.
