Liz POV

I feel much better after all of Deimos’s blood has been fed through my body. I dare to get to my feet and look in the mirror. The cuts and bruises that had marred my body are gone, and I look almost normal.

There is a glow to my skin that was not there before. I lean closer to the mirror to inspect my skin closer. When someone behind me clears their throat. I jump in fear at the noise. I quickly spin around and see Stella standing in the doorway with a smirk on her face.

“I see you are feeling better,” she says, and she genuinely looks relieved, which is more than I can say for her brother. Deimos didn’t even bother to hang around to see if I would heal from his blood.

“I am, thanks to your brother,” I say, plastering a fake smile across my lips.

“Don’t give him all the credit,” Stella says as she crosses her arms over her chest. “He left you here alone.”
