Chapter 13 - Love At First Sights

"Will you tell me now? What did my brother say?" Kate asked for the sixth time as she was very curious to know but Jennifer wasn't able to tell her as she will feel embarrassed!

They are sitting in a cafe near their college to relax a bit. But Jennifer was sitting with an expression like someone close to her died.

Yes, her first kiss died! No, wrong!

Her second and third kisses also died! She still isn't able to digest the fact that she lost her first kiss.

"Will you speak?" Kate shouted near her ear and gained her attention.

"Don't ask what your brother said! Ask what your brother did!" She said, continuing her gloomy face.

"Okay! Then say, what did my brother do?" Kate asked.

"Your brother.... your brother..." Jennifer said while trying to cry but her stupid heart won't let tears fall.

Why should I let tears fall? As I said, deep down you are happy, her heart said in a dreamy voice.

"My brother what?" Kate asked with more curiosity.

"Your brother kissed me." Jennifer said and instantly covered her face with her palms, trying to hide from her which wasn't possible at that moment.

"What's wrong with that?" Kate asked normally and Jennifer expected a scream from her as she thought that Kate should be shocked hearing her but she wasn't.

"What do you mean by that?" Jennifer asked, baffled, and removed her hands from her face.

"He kissed you on your cheek. What's wrong with that? He may have done that to make you know that he is feeling sorry for whatever he did." Kate said with innocence, not understanding what Jennifer meant.

"Kate, he didn't kiss me on my cheek. He kissed me on my lips and not once but thrice!" She said fake crying as real tears weren't ready to pour out.

"OMG! It's hard to believe that my brother kissed a girl." Kate was shocked but there was a tiny smile on her lips.

"What will I say to my future husband?" Jennifer asked while banging her head.

"This is good news. I need to tell this to mom." Kate chirped happily.

"What good news? What is so good about this?" Jennifer asked while pouting.

"As far as I know, my brother never kissed anyone. He is never seen with any girl. So it is good news. Mom will be so happy to know this. She always wanted that bro to have a love partner." Kate exclaimed with pure joy.

"Love? What love? There isn't any love between us. I have to ask him why he kissed me!" Jennifer said glaring at her and Kate nodded.

"I am already embarrassed. Don't make me more embarrassed by telling this to your mom." Jennifer pleaded to her by showing puppy eyes.

"Okay, babe. Now don't get sad." Kate said while pulling her cheeks.

Instantly a scene replayed in front of her. Ethan also pulled her cheeks and called her adorable and she started blushing while remembering that moment.

"Someone is blushing." Kate smirked at her while sipping her coffee and Jennifer held her cheeks to control her blushing.

"I need food." Jennifer said, pouting while roaming her hand on her stomach.

"You just had two burgers, three pastries, two doughnuts, five egg toasts, and three scoops of vanilla ice cream. How much are you gonna eat? Are you on your period?" She asked while raising her eyebrows at Jennifer who sheepishly smiled at her.

"Nope! Actually, I am more hungry when I am sad." Jennifer said smiling.

"Oh really? Why do I think that you are feeling more hungry due to the happiness of getting kissed by my brother?" She asked while smirking at Jennifer and she ignored her words and called the waiter.

"Bring me a pepperoni pizza, an extra cheesy pizza, and an extra spicy pizza." She said to the waiter and he nodded, writing down on his notepad.

He went away to bring the food and Kate shook her head smiling seeing her cravings. After her mouthwatering pizzas came, she didn't waste any time diving into those.

After making her stomach full with the delicious pizzas, she smiled with satisfaction, rubbing her tummy. Her phone rang, gaining her attention and she received the call from an unknown number.

"Who is this?" She asked without any greetings as it was an unknown number.

"Your dear brother." Adrian said and she mentally groaned in her mind.

"You should have added monkey instead of dear. BTW, why did you call?" She asked, getting annoyed.

"Come to pick me." He said.

"Come to pick you? Don't tell me you are here?" Jennifer got up from the chair instantly in pure shock.

"I am at the airport. The flight just landed." He informed her.

"Mom just told me yesterday night that you are going to come. But I didn't know that you were gonna come today. I thought you were gonna come a few weeks later." Jennifer thought with frustration as he will annoy the shit out of her with his pranks.

"Wanted to give you a surprise, my baby sister." He said and Jennifer could guess that he was smirking.

"It's not a surprise, it's a shock." Jennifer exclaimed.

"If I am a shock for you then a surprise is waiting for your arrival! Come sooner, we are tired." He stated.

"We? Who came with you?" Jennifer asked, getting curious.

"You will know when you will come here." He said and hung up the call.

Jennifer pouted as she thought she would go to her apartment and sleep peacefully as she ate too much. Now, she can't even walk properly!

"What happened?" Kate asked, looking at her gloomy face again.

"My brother is here. He told me to come to the airport." She whined.

"Okay, let me drop you at the airport." Kate said smiling and Jennifer smiled back as she doesn't have to walk anymore.

They moved towards the parking lot while talking and laughing. Jennifer's smile was so beautiful that it caught someone's attention!

A man was watching her from a little bit of distance and he wasn't even blinking while looking at Jennifer as he got enchanted by her beautiful smile. He couldn't look away from her. Her smile, her laughter, her cute pout, and everything about her started driving him crazy.

"Your beauty is only made for me! Soon, baby, you are gonna enter my world. I will never let you go away from me. It's my promise." That unknown man said, smiling gorgeously and wearing his black sunglasses.

His clothes and car are screaming about how rich he is! He got inside his car and looked at Jennifer for the last time.

Then he drove away from there smiling and his mind was only thinking about her.

"I will drive the car." Kate said to the driver and the driver nodded, getting out of the car.

Jennifer sat in the passenger seat.

"You can drive. It's so awesome. If I had a car, I would learn to drive." Jennifer said cheerfully.

"Don't worry. Once you get a car, I will teach you how to drive." Kate said and Jennifer smiled at her.

After one hour, they reached the airport. After parking the car, they went inside, looking for Adrian.

Jennifer saw him sitting in the waiting area with a girl. She went there running happily.

Don't think, she was running to hug her monkey bro. Nope, absolutely wrong!

She ran there to hug her best friend Sophie. She crushed her body with a hug as she was missing her so much.

"Omg! I can't believe you are here." Jennifer said and hugged her again.

"You look so changed but still you are the same! My cutie-pie! " Sophie said, pulling her chubby cheeks.

"I missed you so much." Jennifer said and kissed her cheeks.

"I missed you too, babe." Sophie said smiling.

They looked at Adrian who was looking at Kate with his mouth hung open. Well, the same goes for Kate, she was also looking at him with her mouth hung open.

Jennifer looked at Sophie and she also looked at her. They raised their eyebrows, questioning each other!

Sophie shrugged her shoulders and looked at Adrian and Kate again. They were frozen at their place looking at each other dreamily.

"Hello?" Jennifer moved her hand in front of Adrian to get his attention but his eyes were stuck on Kate.

There wasn't any movement in both of them as they were looking at each other like there will be no tomorrow. Jennifer shook Kate's shoulder and Sophie shook Adrian's shoulder and finally, they came out of their la-la land.

Jennifer fake coughed to get their attention and Adrian scratched his neck giving a nervous smile. He went towards Kate and pushed Jennifer aside as he wanted to stand between them.

Wow! I just got ignored by my brother, Jennifer thought glaring at his back.

A few moments ago you also ignored him. Tit for tat! Her heart said, giving a bored look.

"Hi! I am Adrian, this donkey's brother." He said, giving Kate a charming smile that Jennifer never saw before.

Did he call me a donkey? Jennifer thought not believing her ears.

Oh yeah, her bitchy heart said with a satisfied smile.

"Hi! Nice to meet you. I am Kate, Jennifer's friend." She said while slightly blushing looking at him with her shy gaze.

"Looks like someone is in love!" Sophie whispered to Jennifer, looking at Adrian.

"Oh yeah." Jennifer agreed with her.

Adrian and Kate got themselves so busy in talks like Jennifer and Sophie don't even exist.

"Do you both have any wish to get out of the airport? Or are you both planning to make a family here?" Sophie asked, smirking and Jennifer laughed hearing that.

Kate blushed hard hearing that and Adrian glared at them.

"Let's go!" Kate said smiling and they went towards the parking lot.

Jennifer was about to sit in the passenger seat but Adrian beat her to it, sitting there quickly. Jennifer rolled her eyes at him and she sat in the backseat with Sophie.

"Hey, all of you come to my home! Mom will be pleased to see you guys." Kate chirped happily, looking at Adrian.

"Cool." Adrian agreed immediately.

"What's cool? No, Kate, we can't come today. We will come another time. They just came here so it won't be appropriate to go to your home right now!" Jennifer said and pleaded to Kate with her eyes, trying to make her understand why she doesn't want to go!

"Okay, no problem!" Kate said, understanding her point.

Thank God! She understood me. I don't want to see Ethan at least not so soon, Jennifer thought, sighing in relief.

"BTW, Kate, meet my best friend Sophie and Sophie meet my new friend Kate." Jennifer introduced them to each other.

"You are Jenny's best friend. So from now on, you are also my best friend. We will make a great girl's team." Kate chirped happily.

"We will definitely rock." Sophie said, agreeing with her.

They talked more but it was mostly Adrian and Kate who were talking.

"Your brother is whipped already." Sophie said grinning and they both giggled.

"Did someone say anything?" Adrian asked, looking at them.

"Nope." They both said in unison while trying hard to hold their laughter.

Soon, they reached Jennifer's apartment building and they got out of the car except for Kate.

"Bye, guys." Kate said smiling.

"Will you be able to go alone?" Adrian asked.

"Don't worry." Kate replied shyly and drove away.

Adrian stood there watching the car move away.

"Loverboy, let's go." Jennifer said giggling and started dragging him inside the building while he was busy smiling like a fool.

"The apartment has two bedrooms. Sophie and I will share a room. You can take the other room." Jennifer said to them after they entered the apartment.

"You guys go and get freshened up. I will make something to eat." Jennifer said, feeling her stomach grumbling in hunger forgetting the fact that she ate so much two hours ago but now, she is hungry again.

They went to their bedrooms and Jennifer went to the kitchen. She made spaghetti, spicy shrimp salad, and cold coffee.

Then she went to her room and sat on the bed with her laptop. She thought of applying for an internship in any top company.

She googled the top company and it showed 'King Enterprises' as number one.

Internship in Ethan's company? No way, she disagreed with the thought instantly.

Then she looked at the second top company which showed 'Knight World'.

This one looks good. I should apply for an internship here, she thought smiling.

She quickly filled out the application form and submitted it after checking it properly.

I hope they reply soon. Finally, I will have a source of earning, then I will be able to eat as much as I want, she thought getting excited, thinking about delicious foods.

Even if you don't earn, you still eat as much as you want, her heart said in a mocking tone.

"Why not? Food is love, love is food!" She said with a peaceful smile.

Sophie hit her head with a pillow making her scared for a second.

"You again got lost in food? Come on, let's have lunch!" Sophie said and dragged her towards the dining hall while she was pouting.

"Food, I am coming." Jennifer chirped happily.

They started having their food and Jennifer was eating so fast like the food would vanish.

"Can I know the reason for your sudden arrival?" Jennifer asked, looking at Adrian while sipping her cold coffee.

"I think you already know the answer." Sophie said while hiding her laughter which was about to erupt like a volcano.

Jennifer took a few seconds to understand what she meant and then she started laughing hard.

"I told you, she would cheat on you." Jennifer said laughing hard while holding her stomach.

"But as usual you don't believe me." She said, mentioning his bitchy girlfriend and Adrian glared at her in annoyance.

"Jennifer Andrews always speaks the truth." She said with a peaceful smirk looking at Adrian who was rubbing his temple.

"And you?" Jennifer said, looking at Sophie who raised her eyebrows in a questioning manner.

"You never told me, you had planned to come to New York!" Jennifer said.

"Actually....." She was about to say something but paused.

She looked down thinking something and Jennifer kept her hand on hers in a comforting manner.

"What happened?" Jennifer asked softly.

"As you already know, Brian was pestering me to become his girlfriend. But I didn't have any interest in him. One week ago, there was a party at his house. My family was invited to the party too. When I was alone in a corner, he tried to molest me. Thank God! I know self-defense. I beat the shit out of him but I was a little bit scared because his family is very powerful. I told the incident to mom and she suggested why don't I go to New York and study with you. I agreed and here I am in front of you." Sophie said and Jennifer took deep breaths to control her anger.

Calm down, calm down, her heart said to her mind.

"That bastard! I thought he loved you. I will chop his manhood into tiny pieces and will feed those to him." Jennifer roared like a lioness.

"Hey, angry young girl. Calm down." Adrian said, passing her a glass of water.

"The matter is closed. So don't worry about it. I already taught him a lesson." Sophie said while trying to calm her down.

"Okay." Jennifer said in a rough voice and her anger started vanishing slowly.

"You are okay, right?" Jennifer asked while side-hugging her.

"I am absolutely fine." Sophie said ruffling Jennifer's hair.

After finishing lunch, they washed dishes while talking and laughing. Then departed to their rooms.

Jennifer and Sophie jumped on the bed and had a pillow fight. After some time Sophie fell asleep, feeling tired because of the journey and Jennifer thought to see if there was any mail from the company she applied for.

She opened her laptop to see that she got mail from them and she danced in her mind.

Hello, ma'am.

You are selected for the interview. Your interview will be taken by the CEO. Mr. Knight said that you can pick any day and come for the interview. Please kindly let me know when you will be available for the interview so that I can inform Mr. Knight.

Why does the CEO want to take my interview like he personally knows me? And they replied so soon. He is so considerate as to let me pick a date as I like. Is he considerate like this to everyone or is it just me? Nah, why will it be just me? We don't even know each other, Jennifer thought, feeling very strange about the company and the CEO!

When should I go for the interview? Tomorrow I have to go to college because Sophie is also admitted to the same college. I have to guide her. Maybe I should go the day after tomorrow, Jennifer thought and quickly replied to the mail.

After a minute, they immediately replied to her mail.

Were they waiting for my reply? Jennifer thought, feeling weird.

Thanks, ma'am for replying. Sir said, he will wait for your arrival. Good day, ma'am, the mail said.

Huh? The CEO will wait for me? Looks like the CEO is a good man not an arrogant jerk like Ethan! Again Ethan? Looks like my mind is stuck on Ethan only, Jennifer thought getting angry because of Ethan.

Not me, that bitch heart is stuck on Ethan, her mind said, narrowing her eyes at her.

Did anyone say my name? Her heart said entering the conversation.

Not me, I was just saying Hello, her mind said, getting afraid and vanishing away quickly.

Hey, babe. Please take me to Ethan, I am dying to see his handsome face. This time, I will kiss the hell out of him, her heart said in a dreamy voice.

WTF! No kissing, Jennifer shouted at her heart.

Bitch, her heart muttered and went away.

Finally peace! She smiled brightly and again started thinking about the CEO's weird nature.

He is behaving like I am someone special to him. We don't even know each other, she thought feeling a little suspicious, and looked at Sophie who was sleeping with a little bit of snoring.

Jennifer hugged her from the back and trapped her by her leg.

"Jenny, let me sleep." She said, groaning in annoyance.

"Sleep. Nobody is disturbing you." Jennifer said and kissed her cheeks.

Sophie smiled in her sleep and Jennifer thought to take a small nap too.

After waking up from beauty sleep, they both talked a lot like they haven't talked for ages and Adrian also joined them. Then they decided to watch movies so they made some snacks.

The movie started and sometimes in the middle, they were talking about some random topics. Jennifer had already finished the snacks before the movie even started.

"Guys, I am thinking about changing my college. I want to transfer to your college." Adrian said with a smile while ruffling his hair.

I got it, monkey! Why do you want to change colleges? Jennifer thought, smiling in her mind.

"But it was your long-time wish to study in that college." Jennifer said with a small smirk.

"Yeah, it was. But I found out that the college isn't that good." He said, smiling awkwardly.

"Why even try lying when we won't believe you?" Sophie asked and Jennifer nodded at her words.

"Loverboy, you aren't going to change college and if you do, then I will tell dad about your every little secret." Jennifer threatened him.

"You both are so bad. You guys aren't helping me to get close to my soulmate." He said, making a puppy face and they burst into laughter, seeing his crying face.

"No means no." Jennifer said sternly, though she is two years younger than him but most of the time, she orders him around.

"You both are doing a big sin. You both will go to hell." He said fake crying and went to his room while cursing them.

"OMG! He has already gotten half-mad in love." Sophie giggled looking at his childish nature.

"Soon he is going to be fully mad." Jennifer said giggling.

"BTW, I want to tell you something." Jennifer said when her mind drifted to Ethan.

Sophie hummed in response and Jennifer narrated everything that has happened to her since she came to New York. Sophie's eyes got wide when Jennifer told her about the last incident and she started laughing.

"I can't believe Jenny, you lost your first kiss." She said and Jennifer kept her hand on her mouth.

"Keep your voice down or Adrian will hear." Jennifer said.

"Adrian has heard everything." They heard Adrian's voice and they looked back to see him smirking.

"Oh shit!" Jennifer whispered, getting shocked and scared.

"You are gone." Sophie whispered to her.

"Finally got something to blackmail." Adrian said with an evil smile and Jennifer gulped, not getting good vibes from his smile.

"So are you gonna let me transfer to your college or not?" He asked and his smirk grew wider.

"Do whatever you want to do." Jennifer said smiling but in her mind, she was cursing him.

"Will you tell my secrets to dad?" He asked while pinching her cheeks.

"As long as you don't tell all this to dad." Jennifer said, huffing in frustration.

"My sweet sister." He said and pinched her cheeks again, making her pout.

"BTW, I want to see who this Ethan is! How dare he insult you?" His voice turned into a serious one.

It would be good for you if you don't meet him. Not at least when you will be with Kate. If he sees you with her, I don't know what he will do to you! God, do save us from his wrath, Jennifer thought, getting worried, and started praying to God in advance.

The next day, Jennifer and Sophie got ready to go to college. Adrian had already left for his college.

Jennifer guided Sophie the whole day and it was almost time for going home when they saw Kate running towards them. She reached them and started catching her breath.

"What happened? Why are you running?" Jennifer asked her, giving her water to drink and she gulped it down in one breath.

"Now tell me what happened?" Jennifer asked again.

"I was looking for you both from the morning. Mom has invited you guys to come to our house." She said, smiling broadly and Jennifer was about to deny her but she spoke again.

"Mom has prepared delicious food for you." Kate bribed her, smiling wickedly.

Fooooooooooood! Jennifer screamed in her mind, getting more hungry.

"Is your brother home?" Jennifer asked her for safety as she doesn't trust Ethan at all.

God knows what he will do if they meet again.

"Nope." Kate said, assuring her and Jennifer sighed in relief.

"Come on, we have to pick up your brother from college." Kate said blushing and dragged them to her car.

Soon they reached Adrian's college. Jennifer called him and he came instantly running as he was too excited to see Kate.

He directly went to Kate and did a handshake with her. They were talking to each other while blushing profusely.

Jennifer pulled him from Kate and made him sit in the passenger seat. The girls sat in the backseat and the driver started the car.

All the time, Adrian was trying to make a conversation with Kate and she dismissed those conversations with a small answer. Jennifer and Sophie giggled looking at Adrian's miserable state.

Soon, they reached the King mansion and they exited the car.

"Don't be shy. Come in." Kate said welcoming them and they went inside.

They entered the hall and Jennifer got an earth-shattering shock.

Ethan, her mind screamed, getting scared.

Ethan, her heart screamed, drooling over his hotness.

Jennifer looked at Kate with a glare and she looked away, hiding from her. Jennifer looked at Ethan who was looking at her intensely and she gave him an expressionless face.

After a few seconds, he winked at her playfully, making butterflies appear in her tummy.
