Watching the portal close and become blocked. There is nothing I can do, and Fen has no urge to go after her.

“You just going to stand there and do nothing?” I ask him as I put Sassa back in her moses basket.

“No, she needs to do this on her own. The only thing I will say is that Gaia won’t get the closure she needs from Xena. Don’t worry, Gaia isn’t walking into this alone. There are already three working on Xena as we speak.” I pinch the bridge of my nose as I sigh loudly, which comes out more like a growl.

“So, does that make it better? No, it doesn’t. You just saw Kodiak take over even though she has been sedated. What if she goes full feral while down there? Then what Fen? She will be stuck down there. The barrier will prevent her from coming back.” I say to him as I move closer to him.

Selene placed that barrier as a fail-safe when she exiled Fen back there when he waged war to get to Gaia when she was a newborn. He became feral, needing the power of his daughter. T
