“I know you’re fine sleeping next to me, you’re fine living together as well and you’ve always been comfortable even if you’re butt naked before me…but isn’t that all because you think of me as no more than your loyal dog? Should we marry, would you really be okay? Kissing, touching…would it not repulse you thinking of me as your husband?”

“What are you on about? That’s scary.” Denise lifted her head and punched his chest playfully. “Even if you’re joking, let’s not refer to ourselves as dogs. You and Trey are most important to me.”

“Then, you’d kiss me?” He continued to press, making her eyes go wide, “Would that be okay?” He held her gaze with such intensity that she unconsciously looked to his lips. Then in an instant, she was up. She straightened her back when she climbed to her feet before quickly turning to stretch out an arm towards Jaxson. An awkward smile stretched across her face, one that shook the longer she stared at him. She couldn’t tell whether he was joking or not
