I get out to the cars after school, and see Dallas sitting on the hood of his car and Cole standing in front of him, talking. Once they notice me, Dallas looks behind me like I’m hiding something. “What are you looking for?” I ask smiling. Dallas then looks at my face and smiles, “Just waiting for Amy.” He says, again glancing over my shoulder. “Don’t you have last period with her?” I ask Cole and he nods. “Yeah, but she ran to her locker. I figured she’d meet us out here.” He answers with a shrug.I look back at the school, it’s nearly empty by now. I had to stay back for a few minutes to talk to one of my teachers. “Have you asked Mia? Maybe she decided to walk home.” I say looking back at Dallas. “Maybe... I don’t know something feels off. I’ll call Mia.” He says, sticking his hand out to Cole for his phone. I look at him questioningly, he shrugs, “Lost my phone.” Ah, yes, he told me that, not long after lunch.Cole and I just stand there waiting. “Fucking Mia.” Dallas curses when
I wake up, I don’t even know how much later. My body feels like I got hit by a bus. I’m having trouble seeing from the obvious black eye, but I’m at least able to get myself into a seated position up against the wall. I pull out my phone with the left arm that still works, every muscle I move, makes me feel like I’m dying. It’s nearly six o’clock, my mom’s going to start wondering where I am if she isn’t already. I pull up my messages.*Hey, I lost my phone. It’s Dallas. You better not have walked home on your birthday! Where are you?* -Dallas*Hey, seriously where are you? Everybody’s getting worried.* -Dallas*Your mom doesn’t know where you are. Can you please answer someone?* -DallasThis is all Dallas’s fault. Why would he still be pretending to care so much when he knows exactly where I am? This hurts more than I thought it would, I really started trusting them. I scroll down to Mia’s name, I see that the rest of the guys have messaged me too, but I don’t care what they have to
I see Mia walk out into the waiting room, looking everywhere but at us. She seems nervous, so I stand and walk over to her. The rest of the guys follow, but Mia seems really distraught. I wish they’d let us see her; I just need to see with my own two eyes that she’s okay. Everybody’s being super secretive about what happened, and no one’s saying anything about her condition. We just know she’s here, but none of us know why.“Mia, what’s going on? Can we see her now?” Dallas asks. He’s really not doing okay, it’s like he isn’t being aloud to see the love of his life. I don’t have it in me right now to be upset though, I just need to know she’s okay. Mia looks down at the ground. “She’s okay now, but...” She’s taking way to long. “Spit it out Mia.” I say angrily. She looks up and glares at me. “Fine Liam. She wants all of you to leave. She doesn’t want to see any of you right now.” She says to the point. Why wouldn’t she want to see us? I thought things were finally being fixed between
When I walk outside, I see Dallas’s wolf. He’s brown with white tips on his ears and tip of his tail. He walks up to me slowly and stops in front of me. ‘Is she okay?’ He asks sadly. I know he’s upset she doesn’t want to see any of us. ‘She’s still in pain, but she seems okay. She didn’t talk to me though.’ I answer, ‘Come on, let’s go inside.’ I gesture for my house, and he runs over to it and runs inside. Once I get inside, he’s walking out of my room dressed in my clothes. He’s so upset, it’s written all over his face, then I see fury take over. “You know who did this! We need to do something!” He yells angrily at me. I sigh, “I think I know who did this. I can’t prove anything, and Amy hasn’t said anything. My dad says we can’t do anything until we’re sure.” I say calmly, knowing he’s not going to like my answer. His eyes are burning into my soul as he walks down the stairs. “Look Dallas, I care about her to. We’ll get her to talk and then we’ll punish whoever did this.” I say, he
I’ve spent a week in my room, healing from Clara’s latest beating. This was by far the worse I have received. Mia’s been bringing me my homework, and the teachers are emailing further work, they know with all my free time I’ll get even further ahead. Which is great, I’m already so far ahead I’ll probably be able to graduate before my senior year. Then, I can get away from the she devils and Liam’s goons.I haven’t seen much of the guys, I’ve only seen them while looking out my window. For some reason they’re hovering around my house, day and night. It’s quite unnerving, I don’t know why they’re here. Are they planning another attack? Liam said he wants names of the people who did this, but he already knows. He’s the reason it happened. Is he just trying to get me to snitch so he has another thing to attack me for? Well, that isn’t happening, I’ll take her name to my grave. I won’t even tell Mia, even though she thinks she knows, I won’t confirm it. I don’t even know for sure if there
My mom comes in about five minutes later with a pill. “Don’t be mad. Sweetheart you need to sleep. All this work you’re doing isn’t good for you right now, you need to rest and let your body heal.” She pleads, handing me what I assume is a sleeping pill. I sigh, fucking Mia. I take it from her, promising I’ll take it as soon as I was done with this math assignment. She reluctantly agrees and walks away letting me finish. I set it on my side dresser, having no intentions of taking it. I need to stay aware; I can’t risk sleep right now.I put my headphones in and get back to work, I don’t stop til I see a figure standing in front of me. I pull my headphones out of my ears quickly and shuffle to the head of the bed as far away from the figure as possible. My body groans and I wince at the pain of the sudden movement. I don’t even know who it is, my flight reflex just overpowering me. Once my body finally comes back to me, I start to focus on who’s in front of me. “What the fuck are you d
Cole just mind-linked me that Amy was sleeping, I let out a breath of air. She says she doesn’t trust us and doesn’t want us anyway near her. I really don’t get it, but I really don’t understand why Dallas is the last of us she wants to see. Dallas has been there for a while now he was the one who brought her into our group. I feel bad for Dallas, he really doesn’t seem to understand why she’s being like this.“I think Mia knows more than she’s telling us.” Dallas says, as he paces across the room. I look up and nod. “I’m sure she does, because we know nothing. There’s no way Amy’s told her nothing.” I respond. “We could see if your dad would Alpha command her.” Walker suggests. That’s not a bad idea. My dad wants to know what’s going on as much as us. My eyes widen at the idea, and I race upstairs to my dad's office, Walker and Dallas in tow.I don’t bother knocking and race inside. He looks surprised then amused by us. He chuckles, “What can I do for you boys?” He asks, and we expla
Fuck! We were all finally starting to get along so well. She even finally started wanting to include me. When she said she wanted me at her birthday dinner I was surprised, but so happy. I was finally being included by her, after everything I’ve done. All the ‘friends’ in the world, but lately the only one I cared about is her. And now, to find out how much me leaving her when we were young affected her, I want revenge. I stand up, ready to go find Clara. “No! We still don’t have proof! You are not allowed to do anything until we know for certain!” My dad shouts, reading my mind. Unfortunately, for Dallas he was the closet thing to me at the time. I throw him to the ground, screaming curses and charge out of the room.I went down to the game room and started pacing the floor. I hear Walker and Dallas join me. “Why the fuck are they saying we set her up!” I scream looking over at them, when I notice Mia came with them. “I think it’s pretty obvious.” Walker states but doesn’t elaborate,
My eyes open and I can see the sun shining through the curtains. I wonder how long I was out this time.Everything looks brighter, clearer, that scent. Goddess that scent! I throw my body up into sitting and look around. I’m in Liam’s room, I can smell it here, but my body starts moving before I can even give it commands.I look down, I’m wearing one of Liam’s t-shirts and it looks like some of my shorts. My legs take me to the hallway, down the stairs, through the living room and into the kitchen. My body freezes, ‘Mate!’ My wolf exclaims, just as Liam turns from putting a plate in the sink. My brain doesn’t process anything as my feet carry me to Liam and I jump into his waiting arms. Our lips clash in the next second, and it feels like I’ve come up for air. Like my bodies been held under water my entire life and I can finally breathe.I hear cheers go up around us, but I can’t focus on anything except my body pressed against Liam’s, my mate! Goddess, I never thought I’d say those w
This can’t be happening. Not again. She was left alone for five seconds! No!I watch as Dallas paces back and forth along the street, looking for her. Her scent disappears after we leave the porch. The only other scent is ours!Did her father find her?Everybody is looking, but we won’t find her. Not by scent, and she’s been gone too long that we’d see her.My mind races, as I try to figure out anything. Try to think of any plan. “Do you think maybe she ran again?” Cole asks softly behind me. A low growl leaves my throat.“How do you suppose she did that, Cole? She could barely walk! You think she just took off?” I scream at him. He puts his hands up, “Hey, I’m just pointing out all the possibilities! It wouldn’t be the first time!” He screams back at me.Already everybody is on edge. Fuck! I scoff, my hand running down my face. Then turn away from him. We’re just going to keep butting heads if I stay and argue.Hours we search for her. Hours! I can’t believe she’s gone again. The tho
Breathing heavily, trying to stay conscience, I look up at Andy. Who has taken a break from destroying me. “Why?” I ask, because he was never nice to me, but to team up with Clara… For this…He turns glaring at me, then shrugs. “Guess you won’t be leaving this room anyway. She’s, my mate.” I feel all the blood in my body freeze. What?!I’ve always been told mates mean everything to people that get them. Yet, he’s watching his mate try to get with someone else?“She’s going to become Luna, then kill Liam. Then I’ll be Alpha when she marries me.” He says with all the confidence in the world. I just shake my head at him, “She’s using you.” I tell him.He snarls at me, “You don’t know what you’re talking about.” He growls and I grimace. Not wanting him to continue beating me.“I know she’s loved Liam for as long as I can remember. I know she’s done everything to get rid of me to get to him.” I try to make him see. He just snarls again, “It’s all apart of the plan!” He shouts, coming to st
After throwing up black liquid for what feels like forever, I finally brush my teeth and walk out to the living room.Liam hasn’t left my side since I entered the bathroom, but Dallas grabs my hand as soon as I exit. Pulling me and Liam next to him, so he can be close to me.I lean my head on his shoulder and sigh. The pain in my stomach still there, but less. They walk me over to the couch, and I look for Hazel.I see her standing over the desk, holding all of her books and ingredients as she searches for something. She senses me looking at her and sighs heavily, then looks over at me. “I’m so sorry, Amy.” She whispers, and Dallas and Liam both tense next to me. I look at her confused, “For what?”She closes her eyes, taking a deep breath. “It didn’t work.” She says, then turns back to her things. It didn’t work.It didn’t work! All of that! And it didn’t work? I go to stand but can’t find the strength to fully pick myself up.“Damn it!!” Liam yells, standing next to me and helping m
We all stand in the field, waving good-bye to the helicopter until it was completely out of view, per Heather’s request. Granted I don’t think I could have stopped anyway, I feel like two pieces of my heart just flew away.I stand there clutching my heart, as Liam pulls me into his chest, kissing the top of my head. “They’ll be safe, and we’ll see them soon, Angel.” I nod, hoping like hell he’s right.Hoping everybody here is still standing when all of this is over. I look over at Hazel, who has tears in her eyes, and she smiles knowingly at me. “They’ll be okay.” She whispers and I nod.At least they won’t be in danger here.“Okay, let’s get this connection broken. The sooner we get things done, the sooner this can all finally be over.” Hazel says and everybody nods.We all stand in the living room of Liam’s house, while Hazel starts setting up around me.Candles at each point of a star she has placed on the ground, ingredients set up around me, that I’m not even sure I want to know
We stay up for hours, coming up with a plan. A plan to get the kids out and a plan for taking down my father. I’m trying so hard to stay awake, but I’m failing miserably. Liam keeps begging me to go to sleep, but I need to be apart of the plan. I can’t go into it half assed because I needed to sleep. The kids went to sleep a few hours ago so John and Julia are down here with us. “I don’t like this plan; I need to be here with the pack when this takes place.” John says, talking to Liam. “Dad, I get it, but you and mom are the only ones we trust to keep them safe.” Liam explains to him. Our group already got in a fight about this. I obviously can’t leave, which means Liam and Dallas won’t leave. Which means as Liam’s Beta Walker and Dallas’s mate Nick, they won’t leave. Which means Mia won’t leave. Hazel can’t leave, being our only witch which means Cole won’t leave as her mate. None of them are willing to sit aside while everyone else is in danger. So, in comes John and
Cole comes in carrying a small box of I don’t know what, but looking down at it. “Why was I sent on a mission to retrieve a bunch of random crap?” Cole says grinning looking up at Liam. Liam shrugs, “I don’t know, Hazel said she needed it.” Liam explains motioning to Hazel, Cole’s eyes follow his hand until they land on Hazel. The box of random crap falls to the ground, “Mate.” Cole nearly whispers, my eyes go wide as I stare between the two. “Hi Cole.” Hazel says casually. Cole walks over to her and kneels down next to her. “I asked for these things, specifically from you, because we needed to have a conversation before this…” She gestures between her and Cole, “was reveled.” I just gap at them, so happy that they found each other. Cole looks at the group frowning, “What conversation?” He asks, clearly not happy that he wasn’t included. I smile down at my hands shaking my head. She clearly wanted to have this serious talk, before her and Cole had their moment. Which t
I guess it makes sense that it’s my stress levels, every time the spells happen there’s some major thing happening. Granted, I’m not sure when my stress levels were ever at a normal degree lately. Liam goes on, “Okay, Hazel. Explain.” I know he wants to get this out of the way. See what explanation she has for why she did what she did to me. The plan will probably take up much more of our time than this. Hazel takes a deep breath, “Amy, you know I get feelings and can sense things that most people can’t.” She pauses and I nod. “Well, the night Nick and I got into a fight, not long after I joined you guys on the road. I had finally gotten the sense that you weren’t aware of Nick being a wolf. You were passed out in the hotel room so Nick and I went outside to talk about it. I told him I was going to tell you. I honestly didn’t really think about your father being the problem at the time, I just thought you deserved to know.” She pauses and looks at Nick sadly and he nods,
My cheeks are bright red as I sit up and face Heather. “You guys were kissing! Are you getting back together?” Heather exclaims loudly, I glance up at Liam and turn back to our daughter. “No sweetie, we got caught up in a moment, but your daddy and I have a lot to talk about. Let’s go downstairs and get something to eat.” I don’t look back at Liam, not wanting to know how he feels about what I said. I’m not sure it’s even true, I just don’t want to get my baby’s hopes up. They’ve been through enough with more to come, without adding this to the mix. I grab onto Heather’s hand and start leading her down the stairs, with Liam close behind. When we get downstairs Heather lets go of my hand and starts racing to the kitchen. “Griff! Griff! Mommy and Daddy were kissing!” She shouts to him and the entire room goes quiet staring between me and Liam. I can feel the heat rising in my cheeks. Goddess, if it wasn’t bad enough to have Heather see us kissing now everybody knows.
