MARIE RICHWOOD P.O.V
The tension in the room was large enough to be splintered into two by an axe. George and I sat dutifully on the settee; the both of us had been shocked into silence by Dad’s earlier expression of anger. George expression of sadness had gradually waned slowly being replaced by annoyance. My displeasure at being kept sitted in the living room was slowly edging its way into my face and I knew my patience was waning with Dad’s continual pacing which was blowing me out of my mind.
Mom sat in front of us, I knew Mom would always take our side no matter what. She was my mother after all, in as much as she gives off the humble aura shit. She was a tigress within and even D
CYRUS KAYE P.O.VI searched for Marie to no avail. I needed to tell her about Nicole, Nicole had been sincere with me in her explanation and I knew it was the truth. Whatever scheme Marie had George on, it needs to be aborted right away. I sighed in defeat. The school compound was nearly devoid of students. I scanned the area for any jot of blond hair around but I saw none.Recalling where I last saw Nicole, I went there, hoping I would see Nicole and George and clear out this issue, before it became a mess.I ran towards the building hastingly, I could heard no noise, or any sign of movement. I went in noiselessly, entering the administrative part of the lab
CYRUS KAYE P.O.VDad’s mahogany desk had never fascinated me this much before; I kept my eye glued to the wide beautiful desk. It was also my first time of describing the desk as beautiful. However, I would do anything to avoid the stares Mom and Dad were currently giving each other. Are you shocked? I am as well. It had been a complete turnaround of tables. After I took the bend to his office, I could hear the loud exchange of words between Mom and Dad. I chuckled. This was unusual; they have been able to tolerate each other all this while and ended up treating me unimportantly. What could have lighted the buried tension between them? My answer was not far-fetched. They were arguing because of me. This was a new happening as well. Know
CYRUS KAYE P.O.VStanding in front of her door, I waited anxiously for Marie to pick up the call. My voice was blocked with so much tears, I just wanted a shoulder to lean on.Turning back, I sauntered into the night. But the sound of my name being called made me halt my steps, I turned to look at Marie, she was leaning against the door frame, she slipped out quietly, her hair was flowing all around her, giving her some sort of angelic look. She had a short blue nightgown on, which stopped mid thighs; I forced my eye to leave her smooth legs that were on full display, fully accentuated by the street light.
MARIE RICHWOOD P.O.VI could not believe what I was being told. Cyrus was an extremely intelligent person. He must have guessed the connection. I was speechless. I never mentioned anything to him but he was able to decode game plan with George and Marie.I looked at him content with my choice, he was so relaxed sitting on my bed, bare chested, the chest I had just been touching minutes ago. He was looking so cool and handsome, I could not believe my luck, not only was he smart, he was gorgeous.“So what you are trying to say now is that Nicole is not in love with you?” George asked for the thi
MARIE RICHWOOD P.O.VElated at Dad’s approval to let me stay back in South Africa. I was beyond joyous at his affirmation that morning when Mom gave me the news. Mom was grinning too seeing how happy I was. I had no doubt she must have a hand in Dad changing his mind. I thanked her appropriately before entering the car. George was already sitted with Dad who ignored me as I took my seat at the backseat.Cyrus had left the house early in the morning after receiving a call from his mother, a call he had been reluctant to take. Whatever miracle happened. Mrs. Kaye had been able to argue her way out with her husband. Her son was not going to leave his birth home; she had also disclosed that the huge house belonged to Cyrus as his grandfather
MARIE RICHWOOD P.O.VNicole was pressed fully into George who held her soft body trying to pacify her; I had taken a few steps from her. Though I had been joyous when my deal with George started, but I was not so happy to see the outcome of it.George steadied her with his body, finally getting a grip of herself, Nicole pushed him away from her in rage, I was surprised at the force that came from such a small body,”I am not a game for the both of you to play with as you want. How dare you play with me like that?” backing away from him, she covered her tearful face with the back of her hand ”I am such a fool,” She muttered and began walking out of the sport complex.
CYRUS KAYE P.O.VHow Mom got Dad to retract his words were none of my concern. I had no idea what scheme my mother was cooking. How did she know I was the sole owner of the house we lived in? Something is fishy. She had always made it plain she does not have any interest in me. She even told me I was a mistake that put a hitch on her career, so why the sudden change in attitude.I just could not wrap my head around why she came to get me in the morning at Marie’s house; she offered no further explanation as we walked into the house. Dad had go
MARIE RICHWOOD P.O.V“How soon can we get your Mom to hand over the evidence we need? “ I asked Nicole when George released her“As soon as possible, I would have called her but Dad seized my phone. Therefore, if I can get a phone or I can go her house, I am allowed to go to her house once a month “She said embarrassed, “Alright, make use of my phone, delay is dangerous
CYRUS KAYE P.O.VWe stayed in that position for a long time, Mom held me tightly also not letting go. Gradually she released me, Tears slipping from her eyes, she smiled at me; her happy expression was enough to cure me of all the age long hatred. Giving way for her love“I am sorry, I spoke to you that way. I always thought you did not want me.”
CYRUS KAYE P.O.VI locked myself in my room immediately I came back from school. Mom had tried to talk to me but I did not listen to her. Nan had also tried to get me to talk to her but I ignored them both. Somehow, those two were in cohort. I never knew they were friends; though Mom was rarely home anyway. I noticed the continued absence of my father at home. I refrained from asking. He is a grownup man; he would find his way home. He was probably stewing somewhere having loosed to Mom for the first time in his life.I occupied myself with my compu
MARIE RICHWOOD P.O.VI waited until I heard the last bell. Cyrus had kept to himself throughout the day and I was sick and tired of the sullen attitude. I watched him from the corner of my eye as he arranged his books absentmindedly into his school bag. I sighed; I waited for him to finish with his packing. He threw the bag over his shoulder, ignoring Nicole’s goodbye wish. He stood up from his seat; giving me a small wave, he left the class looking unfocused.
