If she placed the hand on her eyes longer then would it all be an imagination?
Harmony's chest was rising and falling, and even though Harmony could tell it was in a slow and non-obvious motion, she still begged herself internally to calm down. But it was proving difficult too. Adding the piercing eyes in her direction, and one particularly hot one that was descended at her, and topping it off with the engulfing scent of musk that was pervading her senses."Harmony?" He repeated, and she could hear the confusion in his voice.Deciding it would be too much to shame herself more than she had already done, she slowly removed the hand from her face, allowing a shaky lopsided smile on her face."Hi," She muttered, her eyes looking in the direction of the cup on the table rather than the person in front of her.She felt that she must look like she was scrunching her face into a messed-up expression in her bid to look as natural as possible."Hello," She heard him reply, and this time she gave in to her desire to seem normal and looked up at him.He really was appealing to the eyes….. So much so that Harmony felt uncomfortable being so close to him that the comparison would be far too glaring.Even in the dullest of colors, his edgy and blunt features managed to shine bright. With his silver hair being laid to rest messily on his face and his lip piercing glinting under the bulb light, complete with the tattoos that were no longer hidden by the turtle-neck shirt overriding his pale neck, it was safe to say he suited the term— Sexy way too much."Hi," Harmony's running tongue couldn't be helped, as she was beguiled by his warm eyes gazing at her.Such a blunt and domineering beauty yet he managed to appear rather warm and polite to others. Harmony reckoned he must be a nice person. His lip hooked ever so slightly and his warm eyes had a touch of mirth in them. "Hey," He said, amusement shining through his voice as he struggled not to smile."Hello," Harmony repeated, the humor of her own shaking her voice."Hi." He parroted, the soft laugh that threatened to escape his voice roughef his tone. She was unable to stop her eyes from brightening and her lips from curling into a small smile surfacing on her face upon seeing his soft smile. Then a bucket of realization poured on her. Her eyes popped as she said, "Oh," Her expression contorted from the bright one. "I mean…. You're here.""Of course, you'd be here, anyone can be here….." She awkwardly added, moistening her lips with her tongue. His mirthful black eyes illuminated something strange and rather tense in the blink of an eye and then it was gone. Harmony chalked it up as the light flashed in his eyes."Yeah, anyone can be here," He repeated. "Was surprised by how disturbed you looked, it looked like you were about to run out."She shook her head. "Of course not! Why would I run out? I came to get some food…. And it's not like I'm avoiding anybody."He nodded his head slowly. "That's relieving. I was concerned you might be avoiding me."Her expression burst filled with nervous humor as she chuckled drily, followed by a pfft sound from her. "What? Avoiding you? Why would I do that? I was just hurrying back so I could ask for directions to my Tha 101 class."The slight amusement that danced in his eyes hadn't faded. "Fresher right?" He asked. To which she nodded."Good. I'll take you to your class."'Good sir, don't you think you're saying the wrong line?' Immediately crossed Harmony's mind."Oh, uhm, you don't need to do that…" Harmony replied softly.Rhett on the other hand took a step closer to her, the scent of his cologne further wafting around her.Harmony was tempted to step back but at the same time she wanted to step forward, to inhale more of his cologne.'Jesus, harmony, what are you thinking?!' Harmony nearly wanted to slap herself if only to knock sense back into her head."It's fine, I want to," He responded. "Or, do you not like being around me?" He leaned in closer, causing Harmony's heart to race unbelievably fast."N-No, that's not it." Harmony choked out."Really? Because I get the feeling you don't like me very much," Harmony could have sworn his voice has gone lower making the hair on her skin stand erect and her cheeks flush."I-I do!" She said, hoping her cheeks weren't the red saucer she was suspecting they were.Rhett raised an eyebrow, a twinkle of amusement in his eyes. "Is that so? Is that why you look like you're ready to run the first chance you get?"Her eyes widened. She was ready to run the first chance she had, but she couldn't help it. Coupled with her social anxiety and just how intimidating… Well everything about Rhett King was, being around him was two sides. She was either comfortable in his presence or he just triggered her flight or fright instinct."I'm-I'm not running—""Not that I'd have a problem if you did. I like runners." He said those words so calmly as if they were everyday words.Harmony's heart skipped a beat at those words. "What?""I'm the captain of the track team, always looking to scout the new talent," He started, obviously sensing Harmony's fear. "Tell me Harmony, just how good are you at running?"Harmony nearly sighed in relief at his next words. 'Get over yourself Harmony, what did you think he meant?!'"I'm not much of a runner." She assumed a crooked smile."Oh. Shame.""Y-Yeah… So I'm gonna go—""Do you like parties?" He suddenly asked."Huh? Parties?" She parroted."Yeah, I have a party tomorrow, I want you to come. My house.""Yeah, I have a party tomorrow, I want you to come. My house."Harmony did in fact not like parties. There were so many people, with loud music everywhere. It was just iffy for her to even think of going to one.Or maybe you can blame it on movies like mean girls. She did start developing a phobia for parties after that one time in highschool that she got sprayed with a hose after trying to be normal and attending Bethel Madison's party.Bethel wasn't a very nice girl, and Harmony learned that day that Bethel didn't really like her even though she and Bethel had practically never had an interaction before that night.Anyway, Bethel showed her how much she didn't like Harmony with a hose that day. Everyone laughed and it was nothing but embarrassing.Since then Harmony learned for losers like her she was better left at home watching trashy early 2000s horror movies. Not that she even liked parties anyways. So the thought of attending Rhett's party didn't sit well with her. Of course al
"Remember Harmony, you don't have to force it if you ever need someone to talk to me and your aunt is always there for you." A plump man with a bald spot said.Harmony opened her eyes. Although those dewy moonlight blue eyes had remained closed during the duration of the ride from home to college, she was nothing but asleep. Her stomach has been twisting with nervousness, as this was her first day in college.Harmonica Saint was a natural introvert. Since high school she had seen nothing wrong with the way she dreaded leaving her house, the anxiety she felt when she had to speak with others, or the self-consciousness she felt when she was around large crowds. Now leaving the comfort of her old town and her family, she was a mess, it felt like she could vomit from the churning anticipation settled in her gut.Harmony blew out a breath. "Sure, Uncle Sam, you don't have to worry, I'll be fine." She said, leaning away from the car seat to face her Uncle.Uncle Sam and his wife Aunt Mirand
"Here!" She shouted to the tricycle driver, as they approached a large campus building with the billboard "General studies hall" erected next to it.The driver stopped immediately, she dropped down from the tricycle and paid the tricycle driver. Sucking in a breath, she crossed the gutter and began her walk inside the Campus hall. When she entered the Lecture hall, she was stupefied by the sheer size of the hall. Then she couldn't stop her head from automatically trying to calculate just how many people were present in the hall."They're so much…." The words unconsciously slipped out of her mouth as she watched the number of people present and the occasional students that entered the Lecture hall. She had never felt so intimidated before. These people were each going about their business but still, she felt as if they were each conscious of her presence, that their differing eyes were jeering at her, that the occasional chuckles from one or two persons were aimed at her.…. Stupid. Sh
He was not much different than he was outside the school gate, only the silver locks were not as wet as they were before but they were still plastered on his face like a second skin.He was still wearing his pitch-black clothing, and his height was still as intimidating as it was before. The only difference was unlike that blank expression, filled with nothing, but glints of curiosity, he was smiling. A small curl of his lips upturned, something that Harmony felt she would dub as a polite smile if it was anyone else, but on this person it was….. Sexy.Seeing this person again, Harmony felt like she was thrown back to high school with those staring eyes at her, and those mouths whispering rumors about her…. Bastard…. Orphanage…. Creepy. But there was only one difference…. His intense gaze was hot but it did not burn pain as those high schoolers did, it simply nipped on her chest and made her shudder.'I am not…. I am not being dramatic right?' Harmony thought as she stared up, wide-ey
The winds ushered itself inside the house through the open window. The black crow on the willow tree close to the house pierced its black eyes into the house. It seemed to be earnestly watching something inside the house, its beak once in a while crowed at the scene in front of it The moon outside was half full. It seemed to have descended closer to the earth, imposing greatly, winking at the green pastures below. It was a deep dark red while its other half hid inside a thick white fog that was the sky.The breeze danced with the green leaves that made up the floor outside, teasing them as it howled towards the house, slowly but surely the cold breeze danced towards the house, it's teasing play was no more as it banged the open window to spread wider, it's sudden intrusion made the 2 feet tall metal whistle jingle and chime. As the whistle aligned a gainst the beige wall jingled and chimed, a pair of round black eyes shot out from the clock on the shelf and darted towards the door, t
Harmony felt she was so much calmer than she was when came to school yesterday. According to the TimeTable, she downloaded from Waylon University's student portal, she had THA101 first, and the venue was supposed to be somewhere called LR4 in the Theatre Arts department. She didn't know where that was, and the map at the school's gate she could not understand for shit, but luckily there was a glaring Banner with the Theatre Arts department written on it where she had dropped off."This school is really big," She muttered to herself as she entered the so-called Theater Arts department.Even though she had reached the department it was mainly still an open environment, though there were two huge buildings, one being in the middle and another at the side.Worst came to worst she presumed she would have to ask for directions from there. She decided to first enter the building at the side. The aroma of something tantalizing entered her nose and soon enough she realized this was most likel
