Freya Rose
We'd made our way back to the cabin, and I for one was exhausted. All I wanted to do was get in, grab some dinner, then head to bed, but as we got out of the car, we heard the screams. I slammed the car door and edged toward the cabin. Traian glanced over at me, and when we heard a crash of what sounded like furniture, we sprinted up the drive. After Traian flung open the door, he ducked and I instinctively followed suit. Above our heads flew the back half of an arm chair.
My eyes observed its path through the air, then fell upon Marik poised in a karate stance. He jumped into the air, then spun around and high kicked the back of the chair, sending it hurtling towards the trees. When he landed back on the ground, he let out an exaggerated groan that would rival Jean-Claude Van Damme himself. I laughed my ass off at him while the teens shook their heads. The slight smiles on their faces vanished when the Lyc
Mason HartI’d been cooped up in my room for days. I’d only left my bed to use the bathroom, then headed straight back and hid under the covers. The guy that called himself Evan kept trying to get me to remember things. He told me stories of his childhood, jam-packed full of details about this Mason guy. It didn’t mean anything to me. Sure, he was probably telling the truth but what did that matter? I couldn’t connect with any of it. In some ways, I wished I wasn’t Mason, because at least then I wouldn’t feel like I’d lost everything.I was so lost. No matter how hard I tried, I couldn’t remember a damn thing. It made no sense to me, I knew what objects were called and what they were for, but I couldn’t remember my name, what my favorite color was, food or drink. Hell, I didn’t even know what hobbies I liked, or what I did for work. Evan had been helpful, but
Samael WulfI was shocked to see Kali. I wanted to know what she was doing here, how she got out, and why she was so different. Every ounce of her screamed innocence and purity. I had no idea what had happened, or what Selene was playing at. Was it a trick? Magic maybe? What did Selene have to gain by bringing her back here? I needed answers, and quickly, before my brain exploded from all the theories swimming around in it.“What the fuck is going on?” I demanded an answer from Selene. With a sly grin on her face she walked over to the couch opposite me and sat down. She patted the seat next to her and Kali made her way over and sat down. Selene opened her mouth to speak but was quickly interrupted by my office phone. She rolled her eyes before nodding towards the phone. I sighed and got up to answer it.“Hello… really? Crap. Okay I’ll let her know right away. Thank you for
Freya Rose“What the hell, Sam?” My gaze turned back to him, “Why is she in a cage. I mean not that I’m complaining, but why is she human?” I pushed on his chest slightly, and stepped back, “What’s going on?”He stepped forward and held my arms again, then turned me around to face Kali.“Take in a deeper sniff, she’s not human.”I closed my eyes and did as instructed. I gasped a little when the scent swirled around in my nose. I could pick out the different fragrances and they built an image up in my mind. I could tell exactly what she was. I opened my eyes and turned to face Sam again.“The vampire side of her is gone. The hunter side remains, but there's something else. Something pure and innocent, I can’t tell what that is.”“It’s angel energy. I have an idea of what happened, but I need to ex
Samael WulfI'd just told Freya that I loved her. She stood in front of me with her mouth wide open in pure shock. The color drained out of her face, and before I had a chance to say anything else, she grabbed her bra, got dressed and sprinted towards the door. I managed to grab a hold of her arm and spin her around to face me.“Freya, say something,” I begged her.She looked up at me while snatching her arm out of my grip.“I’m sorry, Sam. I can’t do this. I can't be who you need me to be, I can’t give you want you want. I'm sorry, I just can’t.”Her brows were knitted together with sadness and her eyes were seconds away from letting her tears fall. I didn’t know if she meant that she didn’t love me back, or if she couldn’t. If she was in love with another, or what she really meant. She didn’t give me a chance to ask. She unl
LucyHonestly? She was attacking me?And I had thought this day couldn’t get any weirder than it already was. The first day of my adult life had started with the worst alcohol-induced headache I’d ever had – okay, the only headache I’d ever had from drinking. It seemed; things had only gotten worse from there. Finally turning eighteen, all the restrictions my over-protective parents had put on me after the incidents at the Overlook were finally gone, resulting in that strange pull, feeling Kali again after two years. Overlook. That name would haunt me forever in my dreams. First the Overlook Hotel, where I had met Kali the first time, then, the Soulless Overlook Gas Station...Fireballs hitting my living armor shocked me back into reality. Right. I had followed Kali’s distress to the source, finding her rigid with fear, perched on a dragon. Now, that strange woman look
Mason HartI awoke and felt great. I stretched into the air and then yawned loudly, before opening my eyes and inspecting my surroundings. I was in my bed, in my room back at the faction house. I got up and sorted myself out in the bathroom, pee, shower, shave, teeth and hair brushed the full works. I felt incredible and was ready to get back to work. I got dressed, then left my room. As I walked down the hall, I heard Carmen chatting away to someone. When she reached the top of the stairs, she stopped dead in her tracks and stared at me in shock. She pulled the cell away from her ear while saying,“Um, I’ll have to call you back…”She ended the call and gradually pushed her phone into her front jeans pocket. I didn’t bother to slow down, I was starving, so I pulled her in for a hug and spun her around, maneuvering her out of my way.“Good morning Carmen, beauti
Freya RoseHugging Evan felt good, almost like nothing had happened. I pulled away from him and asked,“You remember me?”He pulled his t-shirt down, revealing a tattoo like brand of an angel on his shoulder. I ran my fingers over the slightly raised mark.“It’s a witches mark. It means I can remember who you are.”I glanced up into his eyes, tears wetting my own.“Mason?”He closed his eyes while releasing a heavy breath through his nose. He shook his head slightly and replied,“His mark didn’t work. He doesn’t remember you, Freya.” My tears began to slide down my cheeks. “He is interested in your sister,” he said while reaching forward to wipe my tears.Hearing that Mason was attracted to Amelia broke my heart, but I couldn’t be mad. He didn’t know who I was. I couldn
LucyI had just calmed down at Savanah’s touch, when Evan came close again, handing a can to Savanah. My head snapped up the moment his energy brushed against mine. I knew he hadn’t even touched me. He didn’t need to. I was still acutely aware of his presence, making my heartbeat speed up again. I barely heard Freya ask about Kali. Only after Savanah nudged me in the ribs, I realized I’d been asked a question. A question that seemed of utter importance to Evan, because he was staring at me in anticipation now. I sighed, sipping on the Coke, biding my time. How could I explain it all to them?“First of all, you need to know that I wasn’t born in this realm,” I started in a whisper. “I only learned about the existence of other realms when my friends and I got stuck at the Overlook Hotel, a place that exists in multiple dimensions. That’s where I met Samael and
