Thought you were a nice girl

There wasn't really anything that could comfort me in the situation I was. There were too many factors stopping me from reaching happiness and being at peace, and it would remain that way for a while.

I sighed, closing my eyes the tears soaking the pillowcase.

I heard a knock on the door, but I didn't look back. Maya must have stood up to answer it because I heard the door open.

“Good day, ma'am,” she greeted the person.

“Good day,” the person greeted back, and I recognized her voice. It was lady Catherine.

My eyes widened as I looked back to find that she really was there. I pushed myself up and faced her. I couldn't believe that she had actually come to see me. I thought she would kill me or have me sent out the first chance she got.

I was feeling guilty, really guilty of what I did to her. I wouldn't even be angry if she wanted me out of the house because it was worth her almost getting killed by me. I wouldn't blame her at all.
