Chapter 3

Sarah was walking on the street. She was sad. Due to her one mistake, her family was ruined. She is still suffering the punishment of that mistake. Not only was she made fun of, but every member of her family had to bear this insult.

Her mother stopped going out of the house; whenever her father went to work, he had to listen to the taunts; her brothers got insulted in school; and due to all this, they had to leave the town. Sarah felt a heavy weight of guilt and regret on her shoulders as she walked, knowing that her actions had caused so much pain to her family. She wished she could turn back time and make things like before.

Her father could not bear this torture and hanged himself. Sarah's mother could not bear her father's death and went into a coma, for which she is still undergoing treatment. Despite her remorse, the damage has been done, and the scars run deep for each member of her family.

After losing their parents at a young age, Sarah and Matthew were each other's supporters. Sarah had to work while studying in school, and when she went to college, she had to work more than two jobs so she could raise money to support her brother's education and her mother's treatment.

After enduring so much, time and circumstances had made her strong, and now she was fearless.

She had to arrange a new job quickly. She was worried about this. She had a good degree as well as experience, so she was hopeful that she would soon get a job in a big company and then she would not have to work two jobs.

She enters the ward where her brother is already present.

Matthew asked, “You came so early?"

Sarah said, “ I have left the job."

Matthew asked, “What? But why?"

Sarah said, “Maybe that job was not perfect for me." She smiles

Sarah asked, “What are you doing here?"

Matthew said, “ I came here to meet mom."

Sarah said, “ I can see it."

Matthew said, “There were no classes today, so I came here."

Sarah said, “Let's go home."

Matthew said, "Okay."

With this, both of them come out of the hospital. As they walked out of the hospital, Matthew put his arm around her shoulder and said, "I'm glad you're here, Sarah. Mom will be so happy to see you." Sarah smiled, grateful for her brother's support, as they made their way home, ready to face whatever challenges lay ahead.

Matthew said, “What will you do now?"

Sarah said, “ I have applied to some big companies; let's see when the interview is."

Matthew said, “ I know you deserve better."

Sarah smile

Matthew said, “Look, ice cream." Sarah smiled and said, "Yes, please, but I don't have money."

Matthew said, “Let me buy you."

Sarah said, “How did you get the money?"

Matthew said, “Leave all that aside and tell me which flavor."

Sarah said, “ Matt,"

Matthew said, “It's chocolate, isn't it? Sarah smile

Matthew said, “Wait here; I'll be right back."

Sarah said, "Okay,"

Nicholas gets a call.

Nicholas said, “What happened?"

Peter said, "Sir, I am resigning from my job; I have to go to my hometown, sorry."

Nicholas said, “What nonsense, Peter? How will I maintain everything without an assistant?"

Peter said, “Sir, I have already shortlisted some suitable people; their bio-data is on your table, and you have to interview them tomorrow."

Nicholas said, “But no one will be better than you."

Peter said, “Sorry, sir, but this is my compulsion."

Nicholas said, "Okay."

Peter said, “Thank you, sir."

In the morning, Sarah receives a message on her phone and reads it. Sarah was summoned to an interview at Hill Corporation for the position of assistant to the president. Sarah gets ready and heads downstairs.

Matthew asked, “Where are you going?"" I was summoned for an interview at Hill Corporation today for the position of assistant to the president.

Matthew said, “What? This is good news. I’m so happy for you, Sarah. You’re going to do great!"

Sarah said, “ I am employed, but I haven't started yet."

Matthew asked, “In passing, who leads that organization as president?"

Sarah said, “He doesn't often appear in public, so I'm not sure. If I am hired, perhaps this will help to greatly alleviate our difficulty. This organization offers a very competitive pay scale."

Matthew said, “Best wishes, my sister." Sarah is grinning; walk away.

Many individuals had gathered for the interview. Her confidence weakened as she saw so many people, and she tightened her grasp on the file.

Even though her CV was with the president, she was worried. He heard several employees remark that the president was a serious cold man who believes that failure to complete your duties will result in your termination. Sarah was only hoping she would be chosen because this job is really essential to her.

After many individuals, it is her time. She walks towards the cabin, her eyes down. She knocks on the door, and a frigid voice from inside says, "Come in." Sarah goes inside.

She approaches the table and stares at the president. Her eyes widen, and she becomes nervous as the president looks at her.

Sarah whispered, "Nicolas Hill," she thinks; perhaps he didn't recognize her. Sarah, fake smile.

Nicholas Hill said, “Sit down. It was nice to meet you again." He smiles. "Who are you going to propose to this time?" She was peering at him coldly.

Nicholas Hill said, “You've changed a lot, Sarah. Is that your name, or is it not? Do you still like me? Look, if you came here hoping that I would take pity on you and hire you, you are mistaken. I'm a serious businessman."

Sarah's patience is exhausted. Sarah snatches the resume from his hands. And Sarah said, “Fuck you and your job, Nicholas fucking Hill; even if you give me your firm, I will refuse to work for you, moronic man." She starts to leave from there.

Nicholas Hill said, “What is this attitude about? I can get you a job if you're willing." Sarah's feet come to a stop, and she turns to face him, furious. She comes toward him and slaps him hard.

Sarah said, “How dare you? What do you think of yourself? What else is to be expected of a cheap guy like you? If there is someone I hate the most in this world, understand that it is you, and that will never change. You ruined everything, and I'll never forgive you." Nicholas was surprised; he hadn't expected this. Sarah leaves from there.

Nicholas places a call.

Nicholas said, “Send back all of the candidates; I've chosen my assistant."

"Ok sir"
