Chapter 0002

Graduation day

All the students were very happy; everyone was with their parents; Nicholas was with his friends; and his eyes fell on Sarah, who was sitting in the corner and not with anyone. He stares at her for a while and then gets busy with his friends. As the day went on, Nicholas couldn't shake the image of Sarah sitting alone out of his mind. He couldn't help but wonder why she was by herself on such a joyous occasion. Finally, as the final bell rang and everyone began to leave, Nicholas decided to approach Sarah and ask her if she was okay.

It was time to go home, and everyone had come out of school. Sarah takes her bag and goes to the main gate.

Matthew said, “Hey sister, this is for you." He gives her a rose. Sarah smiles and hugs Matthew .

“Thank you; you came late."

"My class teacher took too much time today."

“No problem; let's go home."

“Wait, you will go to college soon, and to celebrate this, I will give you the treat of ice cream."

“But how did you get the money?"

“Don't worry, sister, this is my money I used to save from pocket money. You wait here; I will bring ice cream." Sarah smile.

Sarah was waiting for her brother then.

Nicholas said, “So, this is your new boyfriend?" Sarah listens to him silently but does not answer.

Nicholas walks towards her.

“Is this boy as rich as me? I don't think so. From his looks, he looks like a beggar." Sarah gets very angry and looks at Nicholas angrily.

She felt like slapping him, but she didn't want to be the laughing stock of people again. She starts leaving from there, and Nicholas follows her.

Nicholas said, “What's the reason for this attitude? What are you, a loser?" Before he can say anything, someone else punches his face. He sees that it was the same boy whom he had seen a moment ago. Nicholas doesn't get a chance to recover, and his face welcomes another punch. Nicholas gets angry and also moves to hit Matthew . Sarah stands in front of Matthew , and Nicholas stops.

Sarah said, “Don't even think." Nicholas was surprised.

“Stay away from my sister or I will kill you; you have done enough to us and..." “Shut up, Matt , and let's go from here; we should stay away from people like him." Sarah holds his hand and starts leaving.

Nicholas said, “Just like me, you were dying to date me." Matthew turns, but Sarah stops him.

Sarah said, “Let's go home.

With this, they both leave from there.

Nicholas said, “Brother and sister? What even I’ve done with them... Fuck, my nose is bleeding."

As they walked away, Sarah couldn't shake the feeling of unease that Nicholas had instilled in her. She couldn't believe the audacity of his words and actions. Matthew, on the other hand, was seething with anger but knew that Sarah was right—they needed to get away from someone like Nicholas. The tension in the air was palpable as they made their way home, each lost in their own thoughts about the encounter. And as Nicholas stood there, blood trickling from his nose, he couldn't help but wonder what he had gotten himself into.

After 4 years

The luxury club of New York, Le Bain.

Josh said, “Hey Nicholas." He called his name and waved his hand, and he walked to them.

Nicholas said, “Sorry guys, I'm late. I had some important meetings."

Adam said, “Your daily excuse." Nicholas chuckled, knowing that his friends were always teasing him about his busy schedule.

Andrew said, “No, he is the president of Hill Corporation. What do you guys think? Running a company, especially the biggest company in America, is not an easy task. I am proud of you."

Nicholas said, "Thanks, man, Yes, it is not easy; I have to include my grandfather's company among the best companies in the world."

Josh said, “We are sure you can do it."

Everyone smiles and nods in agreement, showing their unwavering support for Nicholas and his ambitious goals. Everyone was busy drinking and talking.

William said, “You are settled now, Nicholas. You see, some of us are married and some are engaged, so you should also find a partner for yourself now." Nicholas smiled and replied, "I'm not quite ready for that step yet, but I appreciate the concern."

Nicholas said, “ Brother, I don't find a girl of my type; when I find her, I will definitely marry her. I don't believe in dating or relationships."

John asked, “Your type? What type is that, bro?"

Nicholas said, “Yes, she is beautiful, intelligent, a hard worker, fearless, and, most importantly, not greedy.

Adam said, “Does such a type of girl even exist?"

Nicholas said, “If there is a girl like that, then she is only for me."

Adam replied, "Good luck finding her, man. I doubt she exists in real life."

Sarah's eyes open at the sound of the alarm, and she quickly gets up.

Sarah said, “Oh no, I will be late again for my job. Matthew should have woken me up." She quickly gets up and runs towards the bathroom.

After getting ready, she goes towards the dining area. Her younger brother had already prepared her breakfast for the table. She smiles and has breakfast.

After this, she leaves for her job.

Sarah was waiting for the bus; the bus came after 5 minutes. Today the bus was very crowded, so she somehow boarded the bus and stood in a corner.

Some boys were standing near her; she did not pay attention to those boys. One of them stands behind Sarah and touches her buttocks, and Sarah becomes uncomfortable. She turns towards that boy, and that boy smiles. Sarah ignores him at first, and the boy touches her again. She again gives the boy a warning look, but the boy smiles again.

The third time Sarah holds his hand, twists it, makes him fall down, and presses his hand with her heel, the boy screams in pain.

Sarah smiles and says, "Next time, think carefully before touching a girl, you bastard." The boy lays on the ground, clutching his hand in agony.

The boy said, “Sorry, leave me.

Sarah left him, and her stop also came, and she got down from the bus.

Sarah reaches the office, and her boss is very angry. This is the third time in a month that she is late.

Benjamin said, “Ms. Lewis, so you found time to come here after spending the night with your boyfriend? That's why you can't wake up in the morning early; you always come late."

Sarah said, “It is nothing like that, sir; actually, after leaving here, I work somewhere else. I am working as a waitress at the diner down the street."

Benjamin said, “Don't make excuses. I know girls like you very well. Is this company your father's, and do you consider yourself a princess?"

Sarah said, “Don't bring my father in between, sir."

Benjamin said, “Oh, just look at the attitude of this girl—nonsense. You too are worthless, and your father, who gave birth to you, is also worthless."

Sarah gets angry and throws the cup of hot coffee kept on the table at her boss's face. Sarah said, “Don't ever say anything about my father again; go to hell with your job." She starts leaving from there.

Benjamin said, “Useless girl, I will see you."

Sarah said, “Yes, definitely." Sarah comes out of the cabin.

She was disappointed; she lost her job. As she walked out of the office building, Sarah felt a mix of anger and sadness. She couldn't believe she had lost her job, but she also couldn't stand the way Benjamin had spoken about her and her father. She knew she had to find a new job soon, but for now, she just needed some time to cool off and process everything that had happened. Despite the uncertainty of her future, Sarah knew one thing for sure: she would always stand up for her family, no matter what.
