Chapter 21

I turned my attention away from Alex slowly, looked at the woman next to him who was smiling at me. Suddenly there was a huge hatred in my chest. It's so big that it makes me want to hurt it. Alex stood up from where he was and walked towards me quickly, one of his hands gripped my wrist then pulled me away. But I didn't move to follow him, my eyes were still focused on Evelyn who now looked a little confused.

"Cara, we have to talk." muttered Alex before pulling me again. He stepped in front of me, shielding Evelyn from my hateful gaze. Then his other hand tugged my chin gently, turning my gaze to him again. The expression on Alex's face made me forget my anger for a moment. He looked sad, just a little but that expression appeared on his face briefly. In my entire life, as far as I can remember Alex had never shown his expression or feelings freely. Maybe He showed pleasure or happiness, but that's all. If he feels other feelings, he always covers them with his flat expression.
