"No." Alex insisted. "I'll be visiting four times a week, and that's my last offer."

Balthazar laughed sharply. "Final offer? You think you're selling me something? This is my home, and Caroline is under my protection." He again emphasized 'my protection' in his words. "If you don't want to follow my rules, you don't have to come here."

Alex didn't answer even though his eyes were starting to look angry. Well, Balthazar wasn't wrong either.

I cleared my throat to get their attention. Alex turned to me, whereas Balthazar only glanced at me slightly. "Will Alex be able to visit me immediately after my seal is broken?"

"Ya-"

"No."

The two of them glanced at each other again. But it was Balthazar who currently had the upper hand over Alex, because everything he said just now had some truth to it. Right now I depend on him.

"How long?" I asked again impatiently.

Her hazel eyes looked at me and she smiled faintly. "One month?"
