When Ryleigh realized what had happened, she stared at Ace. She exclaimed, "Are you kidding me?" but the man shook his head.

Ace sat down while carrying the child to regain his composure. Rye yanked a strand of her hair out of annoyance. She took a step forward and drew the chair across Ace. The man's eyes met hers as he glanced at her.

"You already know, Ace. If you're treating me as a joke or your source of amusement, you'd best return my child and leave the area, or at least go somewhere I can't see you. Please..." she pleaded, but the man simply chuckled.

And Rye was aware that the moment was not ideal for admiring the beauty of the smile that crept into his lips. If she were one of those courageous women who fight and don't care about their reputation, she may already be yelling at him. Nonetheless, she maintains respect for herself.

She pleaded, almost in a whisper, "Please... give back my daughter so that I may start working already."
