Chapter 93 TRUE COLORS

LORCAN’S POV

"What the hell are you doing in my office?" I questioned, my tone laced with irritation as I walked into my office and found Melantha holding my phone, a smug expression tugging at the corners of her lips. She seemed startled, caught in the act of something she shouldn't have been doing.

"I-I just came here to check on you," she stammered, her voice feigning innocence, while she gestured toward a plate of freshly sliced fruits. "You didn't have breakfast today, and you skipped supper as well. I thought I'd bring you some fruits."

I eyed her suspiciously. It was difficult to muster any trust for her after what she had done before.

"You can take them away. I have work to do," I replied curtly, my attention still focused on her. "And why are you holding the phone? Did someone call?"

Her explanation came just as easily, though my wolf warned me not to let down my guard. "Oh, no. I was going to call you on your cell phone, but then I realized you weren't here."
