Four Weeks Later. Getting down at her bus stop, Beatrice started humming to her favourite song as took steps towards her apartment which was just a nine-minute walk from there. It was late and she couldn't wait to get settled for the night. She bought dinner on her way to avoid cooking so the plan was to take a shower, eat, probably watch a movie, and have a long sleep since the next day was her day off. Hardly had Beatrice entered her apartment and gotten settled when her phone buzzed in her bag. She reached for it, frowned at the unknown caller ID, but picked up the call anyway. "Good evening, Ma. Am I on to Miss Beatrice?" "Good evening, I'm Beatrice. How may I help you?" She responded in confusion as it was so hard to witness an unsaved caller talking with so much respect. "Oh, good. I called to ask when you will be available to come take your measurements for your dress and also discuss the style you want. We are ready to show you all of our best designs from our catalogs."
She was almost giving up on Linda answering the call when She finally picked up. "Hi, Miss Beatrice." "Sorry, I hung up on you earlier. I was just so confused because I didn't make any reservations. The truth is, I can't even afford your service and to top it all, I'm not getting married." "I understand your confusion, Ma'am and it's fine. We've been told to keep this confidential and I assure you that you can trust us on that." Beatrice frowned. "What do you mean?" "Your husband made the appointment and he made us promise to do an excellent job for you." "Who is that?" Beatrice asked impatiently, wondering who the hell was messing with her life. "Mr Debock Tucker!" "That bastard!!!" Beatrice had no idea when those words fell from her mouth. "Look, I know you are just doing your job but please, don't reach out to me again. I'm not getting married, I don't have a husband and most importantly, I don't know who the hell Debock is!" "Please comply or I'll be forced to report you
"She's fine, Sir. She came back from work a while ago." "Did she change her number because I've been trying to reach out to her and her number isn't going through." "No sir, She still uses the Same number. Perhaps you should keep trying." Dan had no idea what to say anymore so he ended the call. He tried Beatrice's number almost immediately but it didn't go through. He kept his phone aside and continued to take off his clothes. He took a shower, changed into fresh clothes, and instantly got into bed. He had never missed anyone the way he missed her and he would never admit it. ................ Since it was her day off, Beatrice slept away all her tiredness and eventually stood up from bed at 11. She cleaned up her house after which she decided to take the trash out and then make breakfast. Before she could step out of her door, her eyes met with a big white envelope on the floor. She went to dump the trash and then came back to it. She picked up the envelope and then went back in
"You wouldn't pick up my call so I had to come all the way here." Dan sighed, massaging his temple. "Your sister's wedding is in seven days. I'm not here to plead with you to attend. It takes me nothing to dial your Grandma and tell her how you've been so hesitant about showing up." "Is Grandma not meant to be on some medical check-up trip?" "The doctor was able to pull a few strings for her and she would be at Anita's wedding. And of course, She expects you to be there with Natalie." "Listen to me carefully, Mom. I don't love Natalie, she's my past and there's no way I'm going to have anything to do with her ever again." "So who are you gonna present to your Grandmother?" "I'll figure something out." Gina smiled, "So that means you are going to show up on Saturday." "I wouldn't be excited if I were you. All I have to do is to see Grandma and come up with the perfect excuse." "You're so impossible! What the hell is it with you?" "Who exactly are you angry with? Anita or your
Hi Guys, if you started reading this book before 4th December, 2023, please you need to read again from Chapter 1 so you won't get confused because this book was rewritten. Thank you. …………………………………"Why the hell are you all even friends when you can't tell each other the truth?" Gina said to Henry. They were outside the office building, waiting for Gina's driver to bring the car over. "You know how stubborn Dan can be. I mostly don't know anything he does until after he has done the act." "I feel so terrible right now. It's so traumatizing to think that my son is involved in this kind of act. I really don't know what to say. My head feels so heavy." Gina said, trying so hard not to tear up. "I perfectly understand you, Gina. But please try to stay calm. I know how you feel because it's affecting my personality too. Beatrice wouldn't even talk to me because she believes I'm no different from Dan since I'm his friend." I'm sorry you feel terrible but the truth is just that Dan is a
"I'm going to murder you and him if that ever happens!!!" Daniel glared at his best friend who was smirking at him. "You know there's no harm asking for help if you don't know what to do. You've never experienced love before and that is why you are all over the place." "I'm not in love with..." "Shut the fuck up, dude!!!!! You are an expert in other areas of life but you are so clueless when it comes to having a good relationship with someone you truly care about." "I would gladly throw your words back at your face. You do make fun of me and my babe but it is with great pleasure to let you know that being in love or expressing your feelings for a woman doesn't make you a weak man and neither does it make you stupid." "For things to get better, you need to be honest with yourself first." "Be honest and accept your feelings. Only then would you have a clear head and a clear mind to think of what is right and also do what is right." "I'm not proud of how you've handled things so f
"Why are you smiling so brightly?" Bea asked her bestie who was chuckling, replying to a text on her phone."You should come to the club tonight."Beatrice frowned at her. "Have I ever had any reason to be there?""Come on, don't act like it's a bad place. Besides, you were there a few months back.""Yeah," Beatrice rolled her eyes. "That was because I got a call that you were drunk. Obviously, someone had to bring you home.""You don't need to throw it at my face.""I would rather stay at home and die of boredom than to be in a crowded place filled with intimidating people, booze, and loud music.""Wow! Never knew you hated me and my job!'"No, I don't. I would rather lay on my couch than to be there.""No problem, I'll tell Dax that you said you would rather lay on your old couch than to come to his party."Bea turned her attention away from her phone. "It's Dax's birthday?""Yes, and he's throwing a party at the club. Free drinks for everyone in the general lounge.""I'm just recov
"You want to join us for some drinks?" Chad offered.Bea shook her head immediately. "You all's best friend took advantage of me in disguise for a friendly dinner. I know better now.""See what I told you? Everyone else will surely see us the way they see Debock." Chad said to Henry.Daniel grabbed Beatrice's arm once more and rushed her out of the bar area through the VIP exit. He didn't stop until they got to the car park area, right in front of his car where he let go of her hand after she struggled with him."What the hell has come over you? Look what you are wearing?"Bea took a look at her outfit. "What's wrong with what I'm wearing?" She asked, not that she cared about his thoughts. She was putting on a short leather skirt, with an asymmetrical crop top that revealed her belly button and a bit of her cleavage. Her hair was curled up and her makeup was good. She had jewelry on and also matching boots."Holy shit, Bea. All the men in that club were literally gawking at you. Inclu
