It was pretty late at night, probably almost midnight. Bryan was still in his office, trying to distract his thoughts from the last conversation he had with Henry over a week ago by overworking himself. Ever since his best friend told him about the promise he made to his late wife, he has been distraught. He barely ate, he couldn’t sleep, he hardly concentrated during working hours, it was like his entire being was having a meltdown.

So, in order not to seem weak and vulnerable in front of his employees, he feigns anger during the day and buries himself in work at night when he finds it hard to get some sleep. That is why he is currently the only one in his company building, besides the security officers.

A furious knock on his office door tore his attention away from his laptop. Apart from his son, his chauffeur and the company security officers, no one else knows that he’s in his office.
