The Dining Hall

Ezra walked into the dining hall smiling; she yells "Good morning family!!"

The King and Queen were irritated. It showed on their faces; they quickly put on a fake smile and said good morning back. Ezra did not seem to notice their facial expression, but her sister did; she wanted to know why they acted that way toward her.

Ezra sat down at the table and started a normal conversation with her parents. After breakfast, she went to her office to write a report on her travels. She went to the training area Novella found her practicing her sword skills, and she ran up to Ezra with a dress in her hand.

"Ohh Ezra looked what I got," Novella sang.

Ezra turns and looks at Novella, who had a sliver slim silk dress in her hand. The dress was very sparkly, with two thin straps on each shoulder.

"That dress is pretty are you wearing it to the banquet," Ezra asked

"Of course not... but you are" Novella grinned

"Novella I don't I want to go I am kinda busy with paperwork," Ezra said

"Nonsense, you're going to the party we have to find you a king too," Novella said

"I am too young to get married plus I don't have the time," Ezra replied

"Please I am begging you I can't go without you," Novella pleaded

"Fine I will go but only for you," Ezra said

"Great let's go try on this dress then," Novella said

Ezra and Novella went to the dressing room; they tried on dresses while standing in the mirror. Ezra tried on the dress her sister gave her, but it was too big for her. The maid had to make changes to the dress. Meanwhile, Novella puts on a golden ombre mermaid dress. The dress had a lot of different vibrant colored stones on it. The top of the dress had a heart-shaped Neckline; Novella immediately fell in love with it.

She was happy about the event; she was ready to get married and fall in love. Even though Novella was open-minded about finding a husband, she already likes Prince Kanji; he is the heir of the second-largest Kingdom.

Prince Kanji is known for being a jerk. He sleeps with anyone he wants and treats people like slaves, even nobles.

He was not always that way; he used to be a kind man with great values. However, his pass has a bitter memory of the girl he once loved. Prince Kanji breaks the law and parties all day; Novella has been in love with him for a long time since they grew up together.

Novella became lost in thought. While thinking about him, she stared at her reflection in the mirror.

"Are you okay?" Ezra said

"Of course, I am fine I was just thinking about tomorrow's banquet," Novella.

"Don't worry about it you are going to be the most beautiful girl there," said Ezra.

"WE are going to be the most beautiful young Ladies. I don't know what I would do without you", Novella said.

"Me either Novella," Ezra replied

They hugged afterward and started to try on more dresses; Novella told the maid to set different dresses. The rest of the day went normal Ezra finished the letter and sent it to Prince Van. His Kingdom is not that far from the Lucky Kingdom.

Meanwhile

Novella was very arrogant and rude to the maids; to get revenge, they tampered with the measurements of her golden dress. The novella would beat the maids without a reason or explanation. She was a slob, a heavy eater, and gains much weight with her unhealthy eating.

The maids stood outside the door waiting for Novella to leave the room so they can dress Ezra. After a few mins, Novella left Ezra's room and went to get dressed. The maid picks a beautiful dress out for Ezra. They proceeded to put makeup on her face and curl her light gray hair. By the end of it, she was surprised by Ezra's beauty. Ezra always looked like a tomboy, so the maids were proud of the excellent job they did. Ezra left the room and walked to the ballroom for the pre-interview meeting. Everyone met in the ballroom; she was late.

As she ran to the ballroom, the guards open the door for her; king was in middle of the floor talking to everyone when the doors open. Everyone turns to the door and saw Ezra standing in the doorway. She walked in the middle of the crowd while everyone slowly moved out of her way. All the men in the ballroom were looking at her, making her very nervous. Ezra arrived at the throne and bowed down low to the King and Queen; they were sitting on the throne stage.

''I am sorry, Mother and Father, for being late," Ezra said

"It is okay take your seat at the throne," The King snipped back.

Back at the ballroom

After the king left, the Princes bowed down to the Princesses then introduce themselves one by one. Ezra and Novella started talking to the Princes; Ezra was looking around for Prince Van, But she could not find him. Some of the Princes were demanding Ezra's attention; they followed her everywhere.

Ezra did not like the unwanted attention; she tried to avoid the creepy ones. She decides to leave the ballroom altogether and go into the garden looking at the beautiful flowers. Ezra was looking at the roses; she bends down to smell them.

Hearing footsteps sneaking ever so slowly behind her, she quickly stood up and got in a defense position. Ezra could tell that it was a man by his footsteps; the mysterious man stood behind her and tapped her shoulder. Ezra's leg sweeps and kicks the mysterious man the man fell on the ground.

Ezra recognizes that it was Prince Van.

"Oh I am so sorry I thought you were a creep," Ezra said

"That was a hell of a kick, I guess the rumors about you are true," Van asked.

"What rumors ?" Ezra said

"That you are a good fighter," Van said

Ezra blushed in front of Van; she looked down at her feet to hide her face. Van got up from the ground then he dusted the dirt off himself. He stood in front of Ezra and looked down at his feet.

" What you looking at Ezra," he said.

"Well um, "Ezra said, then she pulses.

Van smiles because he thought it was cute that she was blushing.

" Are you blushing is that why you hiding your face?"

'' Well yeah, I didn't expect you to say that, "Ezra said

" You are too cute; you're too pretty to hide your face,'' Van said.

Ezra lifted her head then looked Van straight in the eyes. She smiles

"Okay Prince Van why are you here in the garden," Ezra said

''Because of you, I saw you leave out of the ballroom. I followed you," Van said

" It was becoming too crowded in the ballroom so I left for some fresh air," Ezra said

"I have been wanting to see you ever since you left my Kingdom, "Van said

''I figured I get the chance to talk to you if we were alone. I didn't expect many guys to surround you, "Van said

''All of them annoyed me; some of them were just creepy; it is not my marriage interview," Ezra protested

"I guess I need to work hard to impress you," The prince responded.

"Why would you have to do that?" Ezra said

" Because I plan to marry you I thought that was obvious, "Van said

'I thought it would be simple just to ask you, but I know I have competition now, but you are worth fighting for. '' Van said

Back at the ballroom

Ezra went on the throne and sat down next to Novella; then, the king started talking again.

"I want to thank everyone for coming to Novella, my oldest daughter's wedding interview," King Nar said.

" Unfortunately, my youngest daughter is not ready to marry till next year we will be marrying her off," the king said.

When the king said that, some of the princes left the room and went back home. There were Five Hundred princes from different countries inside the ballroom, three hundred of them left. The princes were talking amongst themselves about Novella. Most of them were confused as to why the other princes were leaving. The king was embarrassed but regained control over the crowd.

He demanded the attention back to him.

"As I was saying Novella will interview everyone one by one if she likes you. you will get a second interview," the king said.

" Well, Let the interviews begin," the king said.

The King and the Queen ran to the office in shame; When the King got in the office, he threw his papers off his office desk.

''My King, please come down,'' the Queen said.

" That was embarrassing it brings our Kingdom great shame why would they just leave like that," the king said

The Queen put her head down in shame and embarrassment.

" There are rumors that have spread around the Kingdom about Novella," The Queen said.

"What kinda rumors," the king growled.

" Rumors that will destroy a young princess's reputation," the Queen said.

" So what are you telling me, that my sweet Novella is a whore?" the king said

"Do not call her that,'' the Queen yelled.

" This has brought us great shame we were giving strict instructions from the holy ones that the woman has to be a virgin before they get married," the king said.

" Those rules were made six hundred years ago, look I am not saying that what she did was right but we need to protect her my love," the Queens said

"Fine, I will do my best to cover up this mess you and your daughter made," the king said. The Queen hugs the king and kisses him.
