My best friend’s dad is my longtime crush!

Laura

I sat silently in the backseat and slowly drifted into my thoughts.

It’s my first time in California, and though it didn’t feel like it yet, I know I would have such a great time. I’ve been here only two weeks and so far, I’ve managed to make a friend. Arlene.

She’s a billionaire’s daughter just like myself, and we just happened to bump into each other on our first day in college.

We apologized at the same time and departed but fate wasn’t done with us. We found each other in the same department, same class, same bench and we just decided right there to be friends.

Arlene is not like me, she’s an extrovert, and my twin sister, Laurette, seems to think that’s what I need to get by in college - an extrovert who would show me the ropes…

“My birthday is this Saturday, and my dad is throwing me this huge party. I want you to come, you’re going to love it, I promise, please don’t say no…” Arlene had said to me in her tiny baby voice and puppy eyes. I hadn’t even given an answer yet before she pulled me into a tight hug, thanking me for accepting her invite…

“Thanks…” I said to the driver while I got out of the car and he zoomed off.

Standing in front of Arlene’s house, I felt goosebumps all over my body. It was a huge mansion, just like my house back in Los Angeles. The architectural designs screamed luxury and every side that I turned was exquisite.

It was a perfect work of art, and being a deep lover of art, I couldn’t wait to see what the inside looked like.

I opened the door and quickly closed it once I peeped in and saw the huge crowd in there. Arlene never mentioned there would be so much people and I didn’t think my anxiety couldn’t handle such.

“Laura!!! I’m so happy you came! I thought you canceled on me!” Arlene exclaimed when I finally found the courage to enter and she saw me.

I smiled as she dragged me in with her, she led me to a group of girls, briefly introduced us and left to attend to some others who just arrived.

I’m not a fan of parties and I just don’t do well with strangers around me.

I took slow sips of my drink while I watched as the girls danced and had fun.

“Want to dance?” A guy asked from behind me, and I quickly turned to take a look.

He was handsome, average height, and smelled really nice but just wasn’t my type.

“I’m sorry, but I don’t feel like dancing.” I let out slowly, took another sip and quickly walked away.

He looked like he wasn’t pleased with my response and I didn’t want to make things more awkward.

“Urghhhhh… finally some peace and quiet…” I heaved a deep sigh of relief as I brisked into the kitchen.

It was empty, and quiet, just the way I like it.

I walked to the counter and refilled my glass, after which I started looking around, drowning myself in the neat culinary art that littered everywhere.

Out of nowhere, the door yanked opened and three guys walked in, looking so upset. I recognized only one of them, he was the one who asked me for a dance and got turned down.

“Why did you refuse to satisfy him, huh? You think you’re beneath him?” One of the other two asked, and their foolish audacity irked me to my belly.

“I wasn’t in the mood for a dance, I never knew it’s my duty to satisfy a grown man.” I let out but seeing as their faces quickly got fierce, I instantly realized I shouldn’t have talked back.

They both shared a knowing glance and then started to approach me. I wanted to run but two of them grabbed me, while the other one started sniffing my face.

He was reaching for my chest when the door opened again.

“Help me please!” I quickly screamed.

One of the guys rushed at the man at the door but was knocked down immediately. The other two quickly pushed me to the ground, and went to fight for their friend. They suffered the same fate and then ran away like the stupid fools that they are.

“Are you alright? Here, take my hand…” the man approached me and extended his hand to me.

I looked up and finally saw his face and just like that, time slowed, and stood still. He was the same man from four years ago, the one who captured my heart. My love at first sight!

I stumbled as I got up and he quickly put a strong hand on my shoulders and steadied me, while I drowned in his heady perfume.

“I… I…”

“Laura!!” The door opened and Arlene came rushing in, smiling and blushing like she had just won a jackpot.

“I’ve been looking all over for you, thought you bounced on me…” she sounded excited.

“Ohh… I see you’ve met my dad.” She let out while my eyes got big as saucers.

“Your dad?” I exclaimed while she nodded and moved closer to hug him.

Seeing as she held him closely and passionately made me a bit uneasy. I was jealous. I envied her and I wished I was the one standing next to him, with his arms around my shoulder and my body pressing on his.

“Dad, this is my friend, remember the girl I told you I met on the first day on campus, she’s the one. Her name is Laura, and I love her so much, she’s my best friend.” Arlene let out excitedly, and while I loved the fact that she called me her best friend, I just didn’t think I deserved the title, considering the thoughts I was having about her dad.

“And Laura, this is my dad. He’s Jackson, one of the youngest billionaire in the country, but he doesn’t like to show it… I do.” She let out, whispering the last part and making him giggle.

“It’s so nice to meet you Sir.” I quickly chimed in while the two shared a chuckle.

“It’s my pleasure, Laura. And call me Jackson. I’m not that old.” Jackson finally chimed in.

His voice was so soothing, husky in a sweet way and I think I fell in love all over again.

Never in a million years did I ever imagined that my longtime crush would turned out to be my best friend’s dad!

The first time I saw Jackson was on my sixteenth birthday and he captured my heart instantly.

My boyfriend had just broken up with me because I wouldn’t sleep with him when we’ve only been together three months. He dumped the news on me a few hours before my sixteenth birthday party, and my heart was so broken that I wanted to cancel the party.

Laurette and my friends wouldn’t let me. They dragged me to the bar and while they had all the fun, I sat in a corner, secretly moping the tears that flooded my eyes.

I was still wallowing in self-pity when this tall handsome man walked in. He had a lady on his arm but that didn’t stop my eyes from feeding on him hungrily.

His aura was so strong and I just couldn’t resist him. He noticed me after a few calculated stares from me, but his eyes didn’t stay long on me.

As for me, my gaze never left his side. His high-end shirt did justice to his handsome face, nicely trimmed hair, chiseled chest which bulged against his shirt.

The lady he came in with, which I assumed was his girlfriend, was all over him and I envied her. I wished it was me standing next to him but then, I was only sixteen and I could tell he was in his forties. I was very young and completely inexperienced about love, there was no way he would go for someone that naive.

I left the bar that night but I never forgot him. His face was ever registered in my head, and even after my boyfriend and I got back together, this strange man was still in my heart!

It’s been four years and I never thought I would see him again or that he would be my best friend’s dad. However, standing in front of him again, I wasn’t sure if it was still love, but something in me awakened. An urge, a craving… call it whatever, but I yearned for every bit of this man!

“I’m sorry, but I’m going to need my bestie now!” Arlene retorted, interrupting my thoughts as she dragged me back to the party.

A guy was waiting for us and he quickly stood up once we were standing in front of him. He was wearing a big smile and I could tell what was about to happen.

“Laura, this is my friend, Andrew, he likes you and wants to get to know you better. Andrew this is, Laura, she’s my best friend so I won’t take any BS from you, huh?” Arlene let out excitedly before leaving the two of us to it.

Andrew seemed nice and good-looking but he just wasn’t my type, or maybe my heart wasn’t ready for anyone that isn’t my Jackson.

Andrew and I got on the dancefloor and everything was going well until he started getting too handsy. He was all up in my face, pressing my body to his, and trying to touch me.

“What’s wrong?” He asked when I finally pulled away from him.

“Nothing, I just need to use the restroom, I’ll be back in a jiffy.” I replied and then walked away without waiting for a response.

I was lying. I just needed an excuse to get away from his irritating attitude.

I made my way upstairs, checking the rooms one after the other, trying to find Arlene’s room so I could hide in there till the party ends.

I was still at this when I noticed a room, the door was slightly opened and I peeped inside out of curiosity. There was a fanstastic art in the corner, which further piqued my interest.

I went in and seeing the arrangement, I could tell it was Jackson’s room. I quickly went to the corner and got a good look at the art, which was really nice.

I was about leaving when the water started running in the bathroom. For a split second, I got scared and contemplated if to run or take a look.

I decided to take a quick peep. I opened the door slightly and there was Jackson. Naked under the shower in his full glory!

He was having a great time, lathering his body while the water poured over him in the most sexiest way. I was so impressed with what I saw and it made me weak to the bones.

I was so lost in my fantasy and mistakenly made a sound with the door.

That was my cue to leave if I didn’t want to get caught.

I quickly backed away, and ran out of the room…
