Laura
I sat silently in the backseat and slowly drifted into my thoughts.
It was my first time in California, and though it didn’t feel like it yet, I knew I would have such a great time. I’ve been here only two weeks and, so far, I’ve managed to make a friend. Arlene.
She’s a billionaire’s daughter just like myself, and we just happened to bump into each other on our first day in college.
We apologized at the same time and departed, but fate wasn’t done with us. We found each other in the same department, same class, same bench, and we just decided right there to be friends.
Arlene is not like me, she’s an extrovert, and my twin sister, Laurette, seems to think that’s what I need to get by in college - an extrovert who would show me the ropes…
“My birthday is this Saturday, and my dad is throwing me this huge party. I want you to come, you’re going to love it, I promise, please don’t say no…” Arlene had said to me in her tiny baby voice and puppy eyes. I hadn’t even given an answer, yet before she pulled me into a tight hug, thanking me for accepting her invite…
“Thanks…” I said to the driver while I got out of the car and he zoomed off.
Standing in front of Arlene’s house, I felt goosebumps all over my body. It was a huge mansion, just like my house back in Los Angeles. The architectural designs screamed luxury and every side that I turned to was exquisite.
It was a perfect work of art, and being a deep lover of art, I couldn’t wait to see what the inside looked like.
I opened the door and quickly closed it once I peeped in and saw the huge crowd in there. Arlene never mentioned there would be so many people and I didn’t think my anxiety couldn’t handle that.
“Laura!!! I’m so happy you came! I thought you canceled on me!” Arlene exclaimed when I finally found the courage to enter and she saw me.
I smiled as she dragged me in with her, she led me to a group of girls, briefly introduced us and left to attend to some others who had just arrived.
I’m not a fan of parties and I just don’t do well with strangers around me.
I took slow sips of my drink while I watched as the girls danced and had fun.
“Want to dance?” A guy asked from behind me, and I quickly turned to take a look.
He was handsome, average height, and smelled really nice, but just wasn’t my type.
“I’m sorry, but I don’t feel like dancing.” I let out slowly, took another sip and quickly walked away.
He looked like he wasn’t pleased with my response and I didn’t want to make things more awkward.
“Urghhhhh… finally some peace and quiet…” I heaved a deep sigh of relief as I brisked into the kitchen.
It was empty and quiet, just the way I like it.
I walked to the counter and refilled my glass, after which I started looking around, drowning myself in the neat culinary art that littered everywhere.
Out of nowhere, the door yanked open, and three guys walked in, looking so upset. I recognized only one of them, he was the one who asked me for a dance and got turned down.
“Why did you refuse to satisfy him, huh? You think you’re beneath him?” One of the other two asked, and their foolish audacity irked me to my belly.
“I wasn’t in the mood for a dance, I never knew it was my duty to satisfy a grown man.” I let out, but seeing as their faces quickly got fierce, I instantly realized I shouldn’t have talked back.
They both shared a knowing glance and then started to approach me. I wanted to run but two of them grabbed me, while the other one started sniffing my face.
He was reaching for my chest when the door opened again.
“Help me please!” I quickly screamed.
One of the guys rushed at the man at the door but was knocked down immediately. The other two quickly pushed me to the ground, and went to fight for their friend. They suffered the same fate and then ran away like the stupid fools that they are.
“Are you alright? Here, take my hand…” the man approached me and extended his hand to me.
I looked up and finally saw his face and, just like that, time slowed, and I stood still. He was the same man from four years ago, the one who captured my heart. My love at first sight!
I stumbled as I got up, and he quickly put a strong hand on my shoulder and steadied me, while I drowned in his heady perfume.
“I… I…”
“Laura!!” The door opened and Arlene came rushing in, smiling and blushing like she had just won a jackpot.
“I’ve been looking all over for you, thought you bounced on me…” she sounded excited.
“Ohh… I see you’ve met my dad.” She let out while my eyes got big as saucers.
“Your dad?” I exclaimed while she nodded and moved closer to hug him.
Seeing as she held him closely and passionately made me a bit uneasy. I was jealous. I envied her and I wished I was the one standing next to him, with his arms around my shoulder and my body pressing on his.
“Dad, this is my friend. Remember the girl I told you I met on the first day on campus? She’s the one. Her name is Laura, and I love her so much, she’s my best friend.” Arlene let out excitedly, and while I loved the fact that she called me her best friend, I just didn’t think I deserved the title, considering the thoughts I was having about her dad.
“And Laura, this is my dad. He’s Jackson, one of the youngest billionaires in the country, but he doesn’t like to show it… I do.” She let out, whispering the last part and making him giggle.
“It’s so nice to meet you Sir.” I quickly chimed in while the two shared a chuckle.
“It’s my pleasure, Laura. And call me Jackson. I’m not that old.” Jackson finally chimed in.
His voice was so soothing, husky in a sweet way and I think I fell in love all over again.
Never in a million years did I ever imagine that my longtime crush would turn out to be my best friend’s dad!
The first time I saw Jackson was on my sixteenth birthday, and he captured my heart instantly.
My boyfriend had just broken up with me because I wouldn’t sleep with him when we'd only been together three months. He dumped the news on me a few hours before my sixteenth birthday party, and my heart was so broken that I wanted to cancel the party.
Laurette and my friends wouldn’t let me. They dragged me to the bar and while they had all the fun, I sat in a corner, secretly moping the tears that flooded my eyes.
I was still wallowing in self-pity when this tall handsome man walked in. He had a lady on his arm, but that didn’t stop my eyes from feeding on him hungrily.
His aura was so strong and I just couldn’t resist him. He noticed me after a few calculated stares from me, but his eyes didn’t stay long on me.
As for me, my gaze never left his side. His high-end shirt did justice to his handsome face, nicely trimmed hair, chiseled chest which bulged against his shirt.
The lady he went in with, who I assumed was his girlfriend, was all over him and I envied her. I wished it was me standing next to him, but then, I was only sixteen, and I could tell he was in his forties. I was very young and completely inexperienced about love, there was no way he would go for someone that naive.
I left the bar that night, but I never forgot him. His face was ever registered in my head, and even after my boyfriend and I got back together, this strange man was still in my heart!
It’s been four years and I never thought I would see him again or that he would be my best friend’s dad. However, standing in front of him again, I wasn’t sure if it was still love, but something in me awakened. An urge, a craving… call it whatever, but I yearned for every bit of this man!
“I’m sorry, but I’m going to need my bestie now!” Arlene retorted, interrupting my thoughts as she dragged me back to the party.
A guy was waiting for us, and he quickly stood up once we were standing in front of him. He was wearing a big smile and I could tell what was about to happen.
“Laura, this is my friend, Andrew, he likes you and wants to get to know you better. Andrew, this is Laura, she’s my best friend, so I won’t take any BS from you, huh?” Arlene let out excitedly before leaving the two of us to it.
Andrew seemed nice and good-looking, but he just wasn’t my type, or maybe my heart wasn’t ready for anyone that wasn’t my Jackson.
Andrew and I got on the dancefloor and everything was going well until he started getting too handsy. He was all up in my face, pressing my body to his, and trying to touch me.
“What’s wrong?” He asked when I finally pulled away from him.
“Nothing, I just need to use the restroom, I’ll be back in a jiffy.” I replied and then walked away without waiting for a response.
I was lying. I just needed an excuse to get away from his irritating attitude.
I made my way upstairs, checking the rooms one after the other, trying to find Arlene’s room, so I could hide in there till the party ended.
I was still at this when I noticed a room. The door was slightly opened, and I peeped inside out of curiosity. There was fantastic art in the corner, which further piqued my interest.
I went in and, seeing the arrangement, I could tell it was Jackson’s room. I quickly went to the corner and got a good look at the art, which was really nice.
I was about to leave when the water started running in the bathroom. For a split second, I got scared and contemplated whether to run or take a look.
I decided to take a quick peep. I opened the door slightly and there was Jackson. Naked under the shower in his full glory!
He was having a great time, lathering his body while the water poured over him in the sexiest way. I was so impressed with what I saw, and it made me weak to the bones.
I was so lost in my imagination and mistakenly made a sound with the door.
That was my cue to leave if I didn’t want to get caught.
I quickly backed away, and ran out of the room…
Laura’s POVI couldn’t stop thinking about Jackson throughout the drive home. The image I saw was fresh in my head and my imagination started to go wild.I drooled at his toned biceps, peeking from under the shower, and inviting me. I got in the shower while he pinned me to the wall and planted his lips roughly on mine till I got moist down there.I surrendered myself and parted my legs to give him more room to explore my body. He moaned hotly against my neck, his hands fondling my breasts while he whispered my name over and over...“Miss, miss, miss!!” My driver called out, jerking me back to reality. My legs were parted, and my red panties were exposed, which he feasted on with a disgusting appetite.I quickly sat up, and rearranged my gown while he unplugged his eyes from my lap.“We’re here, but I don’t mind helping you out…” I was so disgusted and didn’t even wait for him to finish before hopping out of the car.Embarrassed, I pretended not to hear him as I brisk-walked to the doo
Jackson“Babyyyy!!!” Lisa exclaimed as she ran towards me and hugged me tightly.“What are you doing here, Lisa?” I replied when she finally peeled herself from my chest.“What do you mean? What am I doing here? Didn’t we agree to go to the event together?” She replied, rolling her eyes at me while I tried to remember when and if I ever had such a conversation with her.“I don’t remember making such a promise,” I replied, and she scoffed.“Now, you do. Let’s go, I’m all dressed up for you, it’s not like you’re going to notice though.” She chimed in, and that was when I took a second look at her.She was wearing a short sleeveless dress which hugged all the curves in her body tightly. Her hair bounced over her shoulders, and her red lipstick made her makeup pop, making her even more beautiful. The only issue is, I wasn’t in the mood for the tantrums she always comes with.I had gotten home an hour ago, hoping to have a good rest before checking up on Laura. But then, I remembered I had
LauraI was mad with anger as I walked out and straight into my room. Jackson intentionally taunted me… Does he know I’m attracted to him? - that’s the only reason why he could have taunted me like that. Urgggghhh!!! I heaved a deep breath as I crashed in my bed. I replayed the whole scene in my head again and I felt so embarrassed. A million and one ways, and I chose the only embarrassing one. “How can I face him now?” I grabbed the pillow and dipped my face in it. Maybe if I stifle myself, I wouldn’t have to worry about all this. My phone rang just then and Laurette’s face lit up my screen. “Oh my goodness, Laurey… I’m so happy you called. I really need you right now.” I let out. “Ohh really? What would you do without your twin sister then?”“Nothing, absolutely nothing!!” She exclaimed and we both burst into laughter. Laurette is my twin sister and we’re opppsites. We look really alike but have different personalities. Laurette is an extrovert, and believes in exploring new
JacksonMy head, mind, and body were filled with Laura’s thoughts. I couldn’t get over the anger mixed with embarrassment that was plastered on her face as she walked away. I shouldn’t have done that, but I had no choice. It was for her own good. I can’t give her what she wants. She’s my daughter’s best friend. No one would understand why I left all the women in the world to be with one half my age. “You’re the older person here, you have to push her out.” I said to myself as I brought the car to a stop. I grabbed only my phone and made my way into the office.“Good morning, Sir!” Anita said to me as she quickly rose to her feet. “Good morning, Anita. You look nice today.”“Thank you, sir.”“Please get my things from the car… have you sent my schedule to my table?” I asked while she nodded.“Yes Sir.” She chimed in and then left to get the things from the car while I went into my office. The place smiled nicely. That’s the best part about Anita. She’s very organized and neat, the
LauraThe moment I heard Jackson’s car leave the compound, I got up and peeped through the window. There was no reaction whatsoever on his face. He couldn’t care less about me. I stayed there and watched till he was completely out of sight before I got out of the room. After I walked away last night, I was so scared to go out. Not like I was scared of him or anything. I was just too nervous to run into him. I didn’t want him exerting that control over me anymore. It would just make him feel more like the jerk that he is. I went into the kitchen, as my belly was holding on to straws already. I was terribly hungry and needed something in me. To my surprise, a tray was staring me in the eyes once I stepped into the kitchen. It was on the dinette and there was a freshly squeezed cup of juice beside it. Whoa… did he really cook for me? I thought to myself while a little smile found its way onto my lips and cheeks. “And it’s so delicious” I let out with a shocked but satisfied grin.
JacksonI was completely lost in those beautiful eyes of hers.Laura.She was standing in front of me, looking so beautiful that I felt like eating her up right there. Looking deeper into her eyes, I saw ice cream and I wanted some. “Hi Jackson…” I suddenly heard faintly in my head. It was sudden, and I jerked forward a bit, causing my lips to lightly brush over hers. I caught the smile on her face when that happened, and it made me relax a bit. At least, I know I wasn’t the only one affected by the tension between us. It was getting to her too. “I’m so sorry please, I didn’t mean for that to happen.” I quickly apologized while she smiled and oh my God, that beautiful smile made my head turn in all directions. “You look beautiful.” I just had to say it and seeing her try hard to stop herself from blushing was more than enough satisfaction.“Thanks Jackson.”“I moved into the apartment today. I figured you would need your space and I didn’t want to be the one robbing you of that.” S
JacksonI went to bed with thoughts of Laura flooding my head. I forced myself to bed when imaginations wouldn’t stop forming in my head. I went to bed with her face and name, the last one on my mind, and I woke up to the same thing. I had to force myself to focus on other things, and thankfully, the meeting I had was the perfect solution. Once I remembered what I stood to gain and what was at stake, I braced up and shuffled my thoughts…I adjusted my cufflinks as I stepped into the glass-walled conference room, my focus locked on the investors waiting for me… until I saw him. John Reynolds. My stomach clenched. Of all the people I expected to see here, Lisa’s father wasn’t one of them. The last time we spoke was before Lisa ended things… it was even quite a while before then. Back then, we were civil, even friendly.l despite the fact that neither of us knew any of us was existing. It was Lisa who introduced us shortly after we started dating. It was one of those times when she
JacksonI leaned against the door, rubbing the back of my neck as I tried to shake the image of Laura from my mind. The way the water glistened on her skin. The way her hair clung to her back, sleek and damp. The way her legs moved, smooth and effortless, as she stepped onto the pool deck… Damn it. I exhaled sharply, dragging a hand down my face. I needed a distraction before my thoughts spiraled into dangerous territory. And as if the universe had heard me, my phone rang. I glanced at the screen. Arlene. My heart softened instantly. I swiped to answer. “Hey, princess.” “Daddy!” Her voice was full of excitement, that familiar warmth wrapping around me like a safety net. I smiled, the tension in my chest loosening. “You sound happy. What’s got you in such a good mood?” “I just wanted to talk to you,” she said, a slight pout in her voice. “I miss you.” That hit me right in the gut. “I miss you too, baby.” I sank onto the couch, my earlier frustration melting away. “
LauraI lay there, completely spent, tangled in the sheets that still carried his scent. I probably wouldn’t be washing the sheets anytime soon as I’m not sure when or if I’d ever be getting another chance with him. Until that happens or not, I’d be using the sheets as an alternative. Those scents are enough to make me come hard. My body hummed with satisfaction, and I couldn’t help but let a sly smile stretch across my lips.I turned to face him, tracing my fingers along his strong jawline. “You’re incredible, you know that? That was so intense, and I enjoyed every moment.” I muttered to him, while beaming with smiles.Jackson’s gaze softened, but there was something distant in his eyes. He gave me a faint smile and leaned in to kiss my forehead. “You should clean up. I’ll join you soon.” He chimed in, his tone quiet, almost hesitant.“Alrighty, I’ll be waiting for you, and who knows, I might just be free for a second round.” I retorted, seductively winking at him but he had a blank
LauraThe moment I saw that look of surrender in Jackson’s eyes, I was ready to throw myself over him and let him make passionate love to me, in a rough manner.I dipped my tongue down his throat and though he was reluctant at first, I didn’t stop until he gave in and we were soon kissing desperately like our lives depended on it. It was as if I would never get another chance to be intimate with him… maybe I wouldn’t and I wasn’t ready to waste this one opportunity. "You taste really sweet," I muttered in his ear, while he moaned."You too." He muttered too and then slid his hands over my a*s, gripped my cheeks tight, and spun me around, pushing me up against the bed.I let out a soft moan into his mouth, while he suddenly pulled his lips away. I couldn't let him take any break at that moment so I quickly pushed myself back in but he held me back."Are you sure you want this?" He asked while I rolled my eyes out of frustration. How could he be asking me this when he can see how much
LauraI stormed into my room, still fuming. Jackson infuriated me. The way he teased, the arrogant way he smirked like he knew exactly how much power he had over me… it made my blood boil. He was so damn sure of himself, so cocky, and the worst part? He wasn’t wrong. He did have power over me. And I hated it. And to think he actually left me in the middle of nowhere and drove off. What if I had no means to get home? I would have been stranded there and left to die. How can someone be so heartless? All through the ride home, I kept thinking about it, how I had stood there and waited for him to come back but he never did. Twenty minutes passed before I realized I had been abandoned, and I had to walk a bit before I could order for a ride. Getting home, I couldn’t do anything. I was boiling with rage. After walking aimlessly around the house a couple of times, and was still boiling with anger, I knew I had to distract myself.I needed to let off steam before I exploded, so I grabbed
JacksonThe day had dragged on longer than I would’ve liked. No matter what I did, my mind kept slipping. Losing focus. I was in the middle of a meeting with my senior managers, nodding along as someone discussed the company’s quarterly projections, but I wasn’t hearing a damn thing. Instead, all I could think about was Laura. Her pissed-off face when she asked me to stop the car, and then stepped out. The way her lips had parted, eyes blazing as she told me to go to hell before turning on her heels and walking away. The way I’d let her.I clenched my jaw. I could see through her, I knew she was playing games, trying to get back power on me which was why I did what I did. I wanted her to know that her plans were nothing but childish. But that was so wrong on all levels. I should have gone after her. Even if I was so mad at her, I should have made sure she got home safe instead of letting my own damn pride get in the way. To think I had just promised Arlene to look after her j
LauraThe first thing that was on my mind as I woke up was Arlene. She would be leaving soon and I needed to see her, hug her and manage to get some sweetness before she leaves for Paris. If only I wasn’t so big on planning, we would be going together. But nah, I can’t just leave on an impulse. I freshened up real quick and made my way out of the house. The morning air was crisp as I brisked into the house and went straight upstairs to Arlene’s room. I knocked twice before pushing the door open, finding her zipping up her suitcase. She turned to me with an excited grin. “Laura! You’re here.” I smiled, stepping inside. “Of course, I had to see you off before you go jet-setting to Paris.” She giggled and dramatically flipped her hair. “I know, right? The city of art, love, and hopefully, a lot of good food.” She let out and I knew she was intentionally being dramatic about it. She wanted to remind me of what I would be missing.“Yeah, yeah… still not changing my mind so drop the
LauraI barely had time to check my reflection one last time before I heard the honk outside. Arlene squealed excitedly and rushed past me, nearly knocking over the vase by the door. “They’re here!” she called, grabbing her purse. I followed her outside, taking a deep breath to settle myself. Nate had barely stepped out of the car before Arlene flung herself into his arms. He caught her effortlessly, spinning her around before planting a soft kiss on her forehead. “Missed me already?” he teased. “Duh,” she said, squeezing him tighter. “It’s been, like, a day.” Nate chuckled, brushing a strand of hair from her face. “That’s too long.” I watched them, feeling a familiar pang in my chest. They were so effortless.Meanwhile, Andrew stepped out of the driver’s seat and made his way toward me with a bright smile. “You look beautiful,” he said, reaching for my hand. His fingers brushed against my skin as he lifted my hand to his lips, kissing my knuckles. I forced myself
JacksonAfter Laura left the roof, I couldn’t stop thinking about her. I tried… tried to refocus on the work in front of me, gripping the wooden plank and running the sander over its surface, but my hands moved on its own, my mind constantly circling back to her. I loved the way her breath skipped when she saw me shirtless. How her eyes lingered a second too long, her cheeks warming, her body going still as if she were caught in a trance. Most especially how her eyes felt on me. I smirked to myself, gripping the sander tighter. She wanted me. No matter how much she tried to hide it, no matter how hard she pretended to be unfazed, her body betrayed her. And that thought alone did things to me. I exhaled sharply, shaking my head, trying to refocus on my task, but it was pointless. I had lost control of the moment. With an irritated sigh, I set the tools aside and dusted off my hands. There was no use forcing it when my mind was completely wrecked by the thought of her. I needed
LauraThe moment I stepped back into the living room, I realized I wouldn’t be staying long. Arlene was curled up on the couch, laughing sweetly into her phone, no doubt talking to her boyfriend, and Andrew, well, he wasted no time turning all of his attention to me. The moment I sat down, he slid a little closer, his arm resting on the back of the couch behind me. Not touching, but close enough that I could feel the heat of his body. I sighed softly. I was already too tired to deal with this. “I think I’ll call it a night now,” I murmured, stretching my arms slightly for emphasis. Andrew’s brows furrowed. “So soon? It’s still early.” “I know,” I said, offering a small smile. “I just didn’t get much sleep last night, and today has been exhausting.” His gaze softened slightly, though I caught the subtle flicker of disappointment in his eyes. “You sure you don’t want me to walk you?” I chuckled lightly, shaking my head. “I’ll be fine, Andrew. I’ll probably be asleep the
JacksonFrom the moment Laura stepped into the house, I knew I was in trouble. She looked fire… dangerously, sinfully hot in that damn outfit. The kind of hot that made men forget their morals. And I, unfortunately, was just a man. I clenched my jaw, gripping my whiskey glass a little too tightly as I watched her from the corner of my eye, pretending to be unbothered. She looked like she wanted something more from me, but I ignored her, pretending like she wasn’t the most distracting thing in the room. I needed to look away, so I forced myself to turn back and vanished into my room, leaving her there at the door. I settled at my desk diving into my work. I had unfinished projects from work, and that seemed like the perfect distraction, keeping my mind off the fact that Laura was walking around my house, looking like that, existing like a problem I didn’t know how to solve. The universe must have taken pity on me because it wasn’t long after that that Arlene arrived.I went
