Chapter 112: Shattered Mirrors

Lyra's POV

I never realized how loud the world could be when you couldn't hear reality's underlying song. Without my cosmic awareness, every sensation felt raw and immediate - overwhelming in its simple intensity. The pack house bustled with activity as refugees from consumed realities sought sanctuary, their fear and desperation a tangible presence in the air.

"You're doing it again," Xander said softly, his hand finding mine. "That thousand-yard stare."

"I feel blind," I admitted, watching a family of reality refugees settle into what had once been our training grounds. Their world had been one of the first to fall to the Void. "Like I'm stumbling through the dark without a map."

A shimmer in the air announced my dark alternate self's presence. Though she'd returned to her reality, she maintained a connection with us - a ghostly projection that served as both warning and guide.
