THIRD PERSON'S POV
They say it is hard to wait for something that you are not sure would ever belong to you, but it is even harder to give up on someone knowing they are all you want. Till today Myra had thought this quote was utter nonsence, that was before she found herself in the same situation. Even she knew that no matter how much pain Xavier gave her, she would always stay and hope that one day he will be hers.It has been a week since the incident with Sarah. Myra hadn't seen Sarah since that night. Rumour had it that she had found her mate and left with him. This should have brought relief to Myra and perhaps some hope to her relationship with Xavier, but no. Nothing changed.Only Myra could attest to how hard it was to have your mate in the next room, to smell their scent all around you and still be unmated. But she was strong, she had gone through so many years of slavery and torture, how could this be any different? It shouldn't have been, but it was. Time and again she would find herself at his door, most of the time she spent her nights there, that was the closest to him she could get.It may not have been enough, but it was something. It was the middle of the night and Myra was asleep in her room, at least she was trying to sleep. Added to the fact that she was missing her mate, that night was the night before her parents death anniversary and it always brought back all the horrible memmories. She got up from the bed to have drink a glass of water, when she reached for her bedside table, there was none. She should have just gone back to sleep, but no. She made her way to kitchen hoping to bring some water from there. This was her first mistake and the second, was the fact that she decide to check when she heard some noise. Her third mistake was that despite the fact that the noise was coming out of Xavier's room, she decide to check it.She slowly made her way to the door and opened it. Not knowing it would cause her more pain than she had anticipated. There in front of her was Xavier making out with a woman she could not recognize.Perhaps if she had left earlier then she wouldn't have had to catch a glimpse of the disgust in Xavier's eyes at her actions of badging into his room."Get out" he bellowed but she didn't move perhaps from the shock or maybe the anger."Get out" she repeated as the woman with him hid under the covers. This was more than enough proof that he would never accept her. He would rather have anyone else but her and this realization pained more than the rejection he had showed her all this time.Still she wouldn't back down. She was his mate, she had the right to this much.THIRD PERSON'S POV This time Myra decided she would tell him everything. Perhaps this would bring an end to their relationship. But again she realized that they never shared any relationship. It has always been so one sided there was no hope for love. Finally, after dreaming for so many years, she woke up from that dream, the reality was a bit harsh, but what to do?. One has to accept the truth at times. She had always prided herself of being a realist, if there was any time to show all that then it was then but that didn't mean she wasn't hurt. "Why do you do this to me. Why do you hurt me so much. I have always dreamed of a mate. In my dreams my mate would care for me and love me but when i finally found my mate..." she sobbed . "There is a difference between dreams and reality, you should know this" He didn't look remorseful at all . In fact, he had that smug look on his face. Like it didn't matter to him. "I love you, I love you so much and I pray every day when I wake up and
THIRD PERSON'S POV “But pain's like water. It finds a way to push through any seal. There's no way to stop it. Sometimes you have to let yourself sink inside of it before you can learn how to swim to the surface.” ― Katie Kacvinsky For the next few days Myra wallowed in her misery. However, she did keep her word. She managed to stay out of the alpha's way. In fact, she had left the pack house. She was currently staying at the beta Ryan's place. Of course no one knew this. Beta Ryan was gay and unmated though no one knew that either. He had shared his secret with Myra in confidence and she had sworn to keep it. Of course she knew that many pack members would raise eyebrows at their living arrangements but that didn't matter to beta Ryan and she was also fine with it. There was change in her life, the positive kind, from having no one to having a friend, in fact , two. She had also befriended an omega with the name Crista. She was as kind as a kite and as beautiful as they come. She
THIRD PERSON'S POVRyan rushed accross the hallway leading to Xavier's office, colliding with a pack member in the process. He wasn't even sure how Xavier would react and whether or not he would actually go to see Myra. He knocked on the door but before he could answer, he barged in. It was the usual scene, the one of xavier with another woman. Perhaps he knew he would see such a thing, or had seen such a scene too many times so it didn't faze him. But still his heart hurt for Myra, for he had seen her wish to be accepted by her mate and her desire to be loved. And most of all, he could still see the hope in Myra's eyes whenever he talked of Xavier. She didn't deserve all the pain Xavier was giving her, that was the first thought he had when he entered that office. He would give so much just to have a mate, and here he was messing up his relationship with his mate. "Myra needs you" was all he managed to say. Xavier was still his alpha and there were very dire consequences for disre
Myra woke up the next morning in the warm hands of Xavier, in fact, she had thought she was dreaming until he had let out a grunt in response to her pinching him. But even then, he didn’t move. He continued to hold her closer as if she was something delicate, something fragile. And for the first time in her life, Myra wanted to be. The cool morning breeze and the immense amount of light that had penetrated the room made it impossible for Myra to go back to sleep, unlike Xavier who still had his eyes closed. She felt the urge to use the bathroom and decided to get up, but Xavier’s arms around her brought her closer to him. She wiggled a few times, only managing to wake him up. ‘Where are you going? “He asked her opening his eyes. He was still half a sleep and damn it if he didn’t look good. Of course, leave it to Xavier to rock the morning look. He was about to speak when he noticed his eyes change color. They weren’t their usual gold anymore, they were dark, extremely so without be
THIRD PERSON'S POV It took Xavier well over a minute to understand Myra’s statement. And when he did, he still found himself hesitating to reassure her. Perhaps because he knew that he had been the one to lead her to such a path. A path where she no longer believed that anything good would happen to her. But even then, the need to explain himself to her grew so much that he could not control it even if he tried. “There are no cameras. Myra…” he hesitated. “This is no joke. “Another moment of hesitation. “I want us to work. I want to try and be a better mate for you. Listen, I know I have hurt you but just give me one more chance. I have no right…” this time he cut her off. “You have no right to ask me of such a thing. You hear, NO RIGHT. Just because you helped me while I was in heat which by the way was your responsibility doesn’t give you the right to ask me of this. You are very selfish. Very selfish.” She whispered the last part on the verge of tears. Oh, the guts of this man,
THIRD PERSON'S POV Myra woke up in a strange room, very elegant but still rather strange. The room had huge silver-gray curtains and white walls. The bed she was on had gray silk sheets and a huge comforter. It took her a while to realize that she was in Xavier’s room. She got up with a jolt and made her way to the door. As if attempting to leave before he came back. She hesitated when she realized it was dark outside meaning it was night. “Going somewhere” She heard from behind her and spun around so fast she nearly tripped on her feet. First, she took in the picture of Xavier in only a towel. One that hung too low on his hips. Then she followed the water droplet that ran from his neck, down his chest and abs and disappeared into the waist of his towel. By the time she raised her eyes to his, he was already looking at her. “No, I am not going anywhere, I was just…” she found herself struggling to give an explanation. “Admiring the moon, yes admiring the moon. It looks good from t
THIRD PERSON'S POV Oh, she was beautiful, a Greek goddess, Aphrodite. Yes Aphrodite. He really wasn’t sure how he had managed to push her away all those weeks. Now that he had seen her beauty, her tenderness, her response to attention and appreciation, he wasn’t determined to let her go. How could he when he had gotten a glimpse of what it would be like to be with her to have her as his mate? And now, standing there in his t-shirt, he realized just how proud he was to be called her mate. “I know it’s a bit big but you don’t have to look at me like that.” She said almost to herself breaking the trance he was in. “You look good” He managed. His eyes still fixed on her. She shifted uncomfortably in his gaze. Part of her liked the new attention he accorded her, that much she would admit, the other part was cautious at it. If he truly wanted to be with her then she definitely wasn’t going to be the obstacle in their relationship. If it was all some cruel joke then she would be damned i
THIRD PERSONS POV Myra was woken up by a bhang on her bedroom door. She groaned in annoyance as she made her way towards the door, ready to lash out at whoever it was that was disturbing her dream. She opened the door with one rough pull then looked at the person on the other side of the door in shock, only manging to smile a few seconds later. "Will you let me in or should i just stay out here?" Xavier asked, a smirk plastered on his remarkably handsome face. He looked a little different, wild, she dared called it. Instead of his usual designer suits, he had on a sweatpant. She had seen him without his suits before but had never seen him without them that late in the morning. She would have let him in immediately if she hadn't found herself fixated on his abs and muscles. Oh he was fit, that much she would admit, and all hers. This, whatever they had would have to last, whatever it took, she would make them happen. Those kids she had dreamt were playing in the garden would have to
