"What are you doing here?" Jensen asked, his gaze boring holes into Tallie who was literally struggling with her emotions. This was the first time she was seeing him in months. She was feeling both immense relief and happiness. She couldn't be bothered by the coldness of his expression.
"Babe, where have you been?" She asked and Adelynn's eyes went wide.
Jensen's eyes went even colder and the frigid tension in the air tripled."You are her husband?" Adelynn asked, her eyes narrowed."Adelynn-""Don't Adelynn me" she snapped. Then, she burst into a humourless laughter."You were fucking married. Yet, you chose to do everything you could to rip my marriage with Dominic apart. How could I have been so stupid? I should have never trusted you in the first place" she spat, her blood fired up with anger.
"You're getting it all wrong. This is just a misunderstanding" Jensen"What?" Jensen rasped, his eyes wide. "He's dead. He died three months ago. He was terribly ill and there was nothing I could do to make him feel better. It didn't help that you abandoned us. How could you just forget us like that?" Tallie sobbed, her eyes red rimmed. Jensen swallowed hard, tightening his grip on the steering wheel. There was grief and bitterness in his eyes. But, this was only because he'd lost his son. He felt nothing but hatred towards Tallie. She had ruined his chance to be with Adelynn. Because of her, he was sure that Adelynn wouldn't want to have anything to do with him. He'd been so close to having her all to himself. The truth remained that he wasn't going to give up just like that. She would become his by hook or crook. "You made a terrible mistake, Natalie" Jensen droned and she stared at him, bewildered. "A mistake?""Yes""You're unbelievable! Who are you and
"Excuse me, ma'am" Adelynn looked up at the blonde teen standing in front of her with a juice box in her grip. "Can I help you?" Adelynn asked, a smile on her face. "A man asked me to give this to you" the girl said and handed the juice box over to her. Adelynn's brows creased up a little."A man? What else did he say?" She asked."He asked me to tell you that it's a little gift from Leo" the girl said with a smile on her face. With that, she walked away. Adelynn stared at her retreating figure, a small smile tugging at her lips as nostalgia swept through her.... Flashback... Spring had just arrived and the air smelt of sweetness and freshness. Adelynn sat on a bench in a park. She let out a sigh, a small smile curving her lips. Today, she was going to finally meet her pen pal, Leo. She could barely hold in her
Seven days had passed since Adelynn's unpleasant encounter with her exboyfriend. She had been anxious and apprehensive, knowing that Jensen was still out there. Within those seven days, Adelynn had been feeling a little ill. At first, she had believed it to be as a result of how stressed she'd been. But, the symptoms were quickly progressing, coupled with the fact that she had missed her monthly cycles for a while now. She didn't want to raise a false alarm yet. But, she had a gut feeling about it. She stared at her reflection in the bathroom mirror and splashed cool water on her face. Lying on the sink were the three home pregnancy test she had just urinated on. She couldn't bring herself to see what the results were, yet. She felt very anxious and had to take long, deep breaths to help herself relax. She could hear Dominic making a call. He had been on the phone most of the time as of recent. He was doing everything he could to get more evidence
A warm smile tugged at Adelynn's lips once her husband returned home. He noticed the presence of his mother, Adelynn's mother, Stella and Chloe. "Okay, what's the occasion?" He asked his wife as she unbuttoned his white shirt. "You'll see" she whispered and he grinned. "Are we seriously doing this, right now?" Dominic asked, smiling at her. "Yes, we are. When you have freshened up, you can join us for dinner" Adelynn said and walked out of the room, leaving Dominic to wonder what was really going on. He took his bath and got dressed in a black T-shirt and grey sweatpants. As he made his way down the stairs, his phone rang. It was a call from one of his business associates. After the call had ended, he went to the dinning room and took his seat beside his wife. He placed a hand on her thigh. "Will you tell me what's really going on now?" He whispered in her ear and she laughed. Dominic's mother laug
In the large sitting room of Dominic's home, he was sitting on the couch with Adelynn's head on his lap. He fondly stroked her hair as they watched the TV. "Do you remember the first letter we wrote to each other?" Adelynn asked and he smiled. "Of course, I do" Dominic responded as he thought about how nervous he'd been to write the letter. At first, he'd thought that Adelynn wouldn't get the chance to read the letter because Jensen would always follow her wherever she went. Dominic had managed to sneak the letter into her locker. In the letter, he had written to her, asking her to become penpals with him because he didn't have many friends. He'd asked her to send him messages through the mail if she was interested. Adelynn on the other hand had found him very interesting and she'd agreed to be his pen pal. At first, she'd hesitated because of Jensen. But, she managed to hide it from him for the time being. Thi
Pensive, Dominic Suarez paced the length of his study as his bestfriend's words replayed themselves in his mind. "Jensen is my stepbrother?" He thought aloud, a frown on his face. "My mother was once married to Jensen's dad?" He muttered, the frown on his face vanishing. He let out a sigh and rubbed a palm over his face. "For goodness sake, I'm not dumb. That is so ridiculous" he said and lowered himself onto his chair. He didn't need a soothsayer to tell him that everything Austin had said concerning his parentage was bullshit. He tapped his fingers against the surface of his desk, a thoughtful expression on his face. He knew Austin. He wouldn't say such a thing ordinarily. Had he been blackmailed or something? He thought about the possibility that Austin had tried to deceive him for Rielle's sake. For truth to be told, Dominic wasn't upset. It had taken him a long time to understand w
Austin stared at his friend with a look of incredulity on his face. He knew Dominic was trying to help him. But, as much as he really wanted to save his own wife and unborn child, he certainly didn't want Dominic to get hurt or worse, killed. Especially not with Adelynn carrying his child. "You can't just go to them. Dominic, we need backup" Austin said and Dominic gave him a blank stare."We can't bring the cops into this situation and I'm pretty sure you know why"Austin's frown deepened. "Listen to me, this is risky business. We don't know how armed Rielle's kidnapper is. What if something goes wrong and you get captured? What if it triggers the memory of your unpleasant experience?"Dominic snorted. "Did you actually think that I was going to put my life on the line to save Rielle? Definitely not. Of course, I have back up" he replied with a cocky smirk."Wow, you're still as cocky as ever" Austin said, looking irritat
Heart pounding, Adelynn placed a hand on her stomach, hoping and praying that her unborn child would be okay. Her blood ran cold when she heard a masculine voice from the direction of the stairs. "I know you're hiding there. Come out"She swallowed hard, her limbs trembling. A gunshot went off and she slammed a hand over her mouth to stifle the scream that had already escaped her lips. She could hear the footsteps approaching. She quickly moved away from her spot. "Don't make it harder for yourself, Adelynn. I'm not going to hurt you. No one's coming here for you, you know. Your husband is currently preoccupied--"Adelynn's eyes widened when she saw another figure by the window. She could only see the figure with the help of the moonlight. She was worried now. What if the house was actually surrounded? Another gunshot went off and she flinched, her hand accidentally making contact with one o
