Chapter 90Olivia's POV “You don't have to be so harsh on him. This thing happened a long time ago, and you can't compare the man he was to the man he is now” Elana said, much to my annoyance. “Am I getting the feeling that you would rather prefer that I continue staying here? Is that what you are trying to do?” I asked her, not even bothering to hide the fury in my voice.“Of course not. I am on your side, all I am saying is that you have so many good things to hold on to now. You both have a baby on the way, and I am not insensitive enough to ask that you do not take some time for yourself, but it cannot be definite!” She explained and even though I saw the sense in what she was saying, I couldn't deal. “All I want to do now is to go very far away from here, and you know where I am going to. I don't want to hear any other opinion about this because my mind is fully made up” I said and sat down. “Fine. When do we leave?” Elana asked. “Tonight. We leave tonight. I am trying to se
Chapter 91Olivia's POV Somehow, we managed to disperse the crowd. The news of my identity was the raging topic on the lips of everybody. Not Alexander. I felt funny, I couldn't believe that Alexander was truly dead, there was a part of me that the information did not just settle in. “I can't believe he is gone. He was the closest to me, and he had made so many sacrifices to ensure that he served me in every lifetime” Augustus's sad voice filtered through my head. “What happened? Who could have done such a thing?” I asked no one in particular because I knew how we all felt about what had happened. The words of Elana filtered into my memory, she had mentioned feeling that something bad was going to happen. And now, something bad has indeed happened. I wanted to ask her more, but Augustus was in no state to be left alone. “Someone is working against me. I think Ariel has taken over another person in the palace. She has to be the one who can do such a terrible thing” he said and pun
Chapter 92Augustus's POV My mind was in chaos. I had over a million thoughts running through my mind, most of them being questions that I had not figured out the answers too. My body felt hot, and each minute haunted me with the memories that I had shared with Alexander in this place. “That went well” Olivia said, her calm voice cutting into the chaos in my mind and bringing me peace. I walked to the window, the alcohol bottle clasped tightly in my hands. “I am going to find whoever did this, and I am going to make sure that they pay the ultimate price for it. Alexander can't be dead like that. The guards, no one knew. He died alone” I said, and I closed my eyes, pulling up a mental image of him dying alone and going through the worst pain possible. It was not a pretty sight. “What do you want to do?” She asked me and I turned to her. Olivia had chosen to stay back and help me with this pain, a part of me was grateful, but I needed to make the best decision now. The witches had
Chapter 93Olivia's POV I was angry with myself. Angry for even softening for him in the first place, I knew the reason for that was because of Alexander's death, one I feared would affect him too much. I cursed myself under my breath, I wasn't supposed to be feeling this way. I hated him now, he had taken everything away from me and I could have sworn that I could not stand the very sight of him. “Take it easy, I could feel your rage all the way from my room” I heard Elana's voice in my ears as I tried to take in the warm garden air. It didn't help, I only felt worse because I knew that this familiar scent was going to be a thing of the past for me once I left. “I'm leaving. He doesn't even want me here. I know he wants his former mate. He has only been pretending” I said sadly and continued packing my bags. “I'll get ready so we can leave together” Elana said, but I noticed the hinge of sadness in her voice. This wasn't what she wanted and I knew. I knew deep down that the only

I had no ideas yet who was responsible for the murder of my ally, and now I was losing the one person that has been keeping me sane. “My king!” I heard Elana's desperate voice calling out to me as it got closer to the door of my office. I was up and ready by the time she got to my door, immediately I let her in and gave her a glass of cold orange juice. “What happened?” I asked, my heart flying to my mouth as I hoped that nothing had gone wrong. “I can't find Olivia anywhere. She is missing my king. I have looked for her everywhere” Elana said, her eyes carrying an unknown fear of the horrors that was probably running through her mind. “Are you sure you have checked everywhere?” I asked her. “Didn't you both sleep together?” She asked me, her eyes now filled with shock. “We do sleep together, just that last night was a tough one for us and
Chapter 95Olivia's POV I moved as fast as my legs could carry me. Augustus did not want me close to him anymore and even though it was what I wanted, I felt sorely disappointed. I wished that he had begged for me to stay, instead he told me the truth that I was still finding it hard to believe. The forest was dense as I made my way through, I did not want anything that would attract attention to me, considering the fact that everyone now knew that I was an Ace wolf. Everything beside me felt like it had life and every movement like it was targeted at me. “Strange woman, you shouldn't be out in the dark by this time.” I heard a voice behind me in the darkness and jumped, screaming as loud as my voice could, “it's okay” the voice continued, and I could make it out to be a man's voice. “Who are you?” I barked, throwing in all the courage that I had left. It was just getting dark and after walking this way all day, I had very little strength left to act tough. There was a soft rustl
Chapter 96Augustus's POV I couldn't shake off the gnawing feeling in my chest that something had happened to Olivia. Every moment had me feeling guilty, and I could have sworn that I heard her calling out to me this morning in my sleep. Ever since she left, which was now exactly 24 hours ago, I had imagined hearing her call me or her sweet scent welcoming me back to our chambers after a long day out there. My life felt empty, and I wished that I had not said anything to her about Ariel, instead, I had just told her the truth. “Your Majesty, you sent for me?” Elana said, I had not let her have a moment of rest since yesterday, she had done all she could to link with Olivia, but she was too far, beyond our reach. “Have you had any luck yet?” I asked, even though I already knew what the answer would be. “Not yet your majesty” she said and even though I already knew what the answer would be, my heart broke into a thousand pieces for the umpteenth time that day. “Fine.” I said grumpi
Chapter 97Olivia's POV The next time I gained consciousness, I was in a different room. My hands were no longer bound and the room had more ventilation than the previous one that I had been in. I struggled to get up, my body was weak from lack of food and the pregnancy that was tearing my insides with the need for food. Just then, there was a rustling of keys at the door and I quickly laid back down, pretending to be asleep. A middle-aged woman made her way into the room, she didn't even bother to look at me before setting the plate roughly on the floor, some of its contents spilling out of the plate. “I know you are awake, I saw you when you were running back to lie down on your bed. You better wake up and eat, the Alpha would soon send for you” she said and left the room before I could get a word out. Her words had stunned me, I laid there for some time before the rumbling of my stomach pushed me from the bed. I made my way to the plate, each step making me dizzier than I was.
Chapter 98Olivia's POV “Oh, you thought I would not be able to find out your real identity?” He asked me when he saw how stunned I was. The food immediately lost its taste and turned to sand in my mouth. I was devastated and the only thing I wanted to do now was to run. The one thing I couldn't afford to do right now. “I…I… Am not Olivia or whatever you say her name is” I managed to say, my voice sounding alien even to me. He laughed, loudly, then got up and went to the mini bar behind his chair to pull out a bottle of raw alcohol. “You see, I had my doubts when I saw you. King Augustus has been on my radar for a while and I kept racking my brain on how to get him to notice me. When I saw you, I had my doubts but today, after seeing the way you have cleaned up nicely, I know without a doubt that you are queen Olivia of the Lycan Kingdom” he said, his voice increasing in pitch and tempo with every word. “I am not her. I am simply Freya, a young servant that was dumped by her lover
