Marienne pov

With the new piece of information I had acquire I started to prepare. As I walk toward the bathroom, as I step into the bathroom I turn on the shower testing the water temperature as I set my feet on it, as I step completely into the shower and grab my soap. It takes two minutes for me to finish in the shower as I hurrily step out of my bathroom and put on my maids uniform.

I trek up the stairs in a hurry to meet up with the head chef,as I turn towards the kitchen which for some reason everyone was very busy, maids were cutting vegetables and chefs were being too busy shouting and ordering everybody around. As Iooked around i found it difficult to locate the head chef till I saw him standing on the extreme end of the room taking down stocks.

I stuggle my way throw the kitchen as I reach over to the chef who had his brow furrowed as he write on the sheet. I walk over to him but he seems to ignore my presence.

"Um….. good morning chef, I heard you were looking for an assistance to assist you in the market today," I inquired with a smile

The chef turned towards me as he scowled while staring at me which led me to believe he didn't appreciate me interruption.

"The position as already been taken" he snapped at me as he returned back to his work, leaving no room for argument.

I knew I couldn't let this opportunity pass me and I decided to take advantage of the head maid for the first time, she seemed to be feared around here and she gives and assigned position, I felt guilty using her name to carry out my plans, but I am determined to do anything to take me out of here.

"The head me had ordered me to go with you to the market chef" I said to him as he scorn as he looked down at me. He scoffed as he said.

"That damn woman, always involving her self in my damn business" he sneered

"I was just about to leave get your self in the car outside, we leave in 5 minutes" he said and as he turned around and left.

Using the back door out of the kitchen I came upon the clearing which happens to be the back entrance of the palace. I spotted a vehicle which I figured would belong to the chef as I waited for the chef to come out of the kitchen. I didn't have to wait long as I saw him walk towards his car completely ignoring my existence as he open the vehicle and he slip instead, I opened the passenger door and seat there as he on the car and zoomed off.

On getting to the castle gate, he was stopped to identify himself, he did that by drawing out a card which I assumed, he was asked a few questions mostly about why he was taking me with him he answered. When the little interrogation was done he zoomed down the road.

The card which had shown to the security happened to be an identification card only high ranking workers in the castle had, we Omegas rarely ever left the castle except we were relieved of our duties, so the castle didn't bother to offer us a card, they didn't see the need to.

It took twenty minutes to arrive the town as the castle was surrounded by the forest, you would have to drive a long way to see civilization after you leave the castle and the forest was patrolled by guards who were lycans,the thought of this sent a chill doen my Spine, that was the reason I had to lie my way out, running through the forest will draw too much attention to me.

We arrived at the market and he packed the vehicle, we got off the car as I trail behind him ,I try to figure out a way to get lost in the crowds without him noticing became he kept glancing back at me as if he suspect am up to something. He began walking so fast that I had to try so hard to keep up with him. We have been walking for an hour without buying something, I was tired and my feet were arching.

He finally stopped by the market stall that sold all kinds of spices as he picked up a spice and turn to speak with the seller. This is an opportunity I've been waiting for , as I took little steps backwards and mix into the crowds. I turned back to see that he is unaware of my movement as I mixed into the crowd.

I walked so fast with my head bent as I wander out of the market and into the city, I headed into a boutique as I needed to change out of my maid's uniform. I had taken all my saving and that of my mother with me all I need to do was to settle down and find a job.

As I step into the boutique, a young beautiful lady walk towards me with a smile on her face.

"Can I help you young lady?" she asked clearly confused what a palace maid would be doing in her shop,I needed to move fast as I thought of what I could tell could tell her to relieve her of her suspicion.

"I was wondering if I could get a change of clothes please" I said as her brows furrowed in confusion.

"Oh you must be wondering what an omega maid may want to change her uniform, you see I have been relieved of my duties in the palace and would want a change of clothes not to draw attention to my self" I lied

"Why didn't you do that in the palace, before leaving" she said clearly suspecting me. As I try to think fast what to tell her to take her suspicion away from me.

"I have been in the castle for years, I barely have any clothes to change into so I decided to come out with my uniform" I said through my teeth as I feared she would spot the lie

Her face light with understanding as she said

"Oh sure, you can come in" she said as she picked out a sun dress for me from her stall.

"Oh no, I want a jean and a hoodie" I said as I rejected the dress.

"You can pick your choice" she said as she led me to her stall which contained different shades of jeans I ended up picking a black skinny jeans and a hoodie that didn't cost much.

I was led to the changing room which I changed to my new jeans and top.she kept looking at me like she had something she wanted to say when she asked

"It is true what they say?" she asked with batting an eye.

"I don't understand what you mean" I asked clearly confused as I stare at her.

"Oh I mean the princes, is it true they are getting married? She asked clearly interested in the gossip . I looked at her confused at her words, though I have been in the castle for almost a week I haven't heard anything about the prince getting married.

"Married, noo am not aware of that" I said clearly confused by the question

"Well last week I went to a birthday party hosted my Delaney, she claims they were getting married at the end of the month" she said

"Delaney? Who is that? " I asked clearly curious.

"What…you don't know her, she is the princes fiancée" she said clearly surprised I didn't know who that was.

fiancée…I thought as my wolf howls out in pain I composed my self as I turned to look at her.

"Am sorry, we aren't allowed to disclose palace information, unless it is confirmed my the royal family." I said as she scoff clearly offended by my straight answer. I was right, we were expected to be seen but not heard in the palace, palace workers are not supposed to release any information about the royal family except you have a death wish.

As I finished putting on my hoodie, I left the changing room, I knew I needed to move fast before the chef alerted the castle, I hurrily paid the lady as I left with my old maid dress, which I dump by the side of the road.

I had enough money to last me two weeks thats if I manage it well, I took a bus which ess going to another city, it took three hours for the bus to arrived as I hope off the bus into the nearest motel I could find. I paid for a room on getting to the room, I clash on the bed as I was so exhausted from everything.

"The smell of freedom" I said as I slip into a dreamless sleep.
