I’ll buy that damn pregnancy test.” She changed her outfit and headed to the front door. Her eyes popped out once she came face to face with a familiar face. “Leila!” She murmured. “You! What are you doing here?” She asked her, as surprised as Stella.

“Please, don’t tell them.” She begged her. However, Leila ignored her and walked past her. Stella ran back to her room to call Matt. her hands was shaking as she put her phone near her ear. “Matt, Leila is here. She saw me and I’m afraid she tells your mother the truth.” She paced back and forth nervously.

“John, I have to go back home. Take care of the last file on my desk please.” Matt walked past John’s office dragging his coat on his right shoulder. “Is everything alright?” He asked. “I’ll talk to you later.” He drove fast as soon as he got into his car.

Mia knocked on Stella’s room with a nervous look on her face. “They need you in the office room. I can tell you, they don’t seem happy.” She stood up fixing her outfit. “She told her everything.” She stepped forward tucking her hair behind her ears. “Stella.” She grabbed her arm. “Emma is there too.” She took a deep breath and headed to the second floor.

She swung the door open after knocking it one time. She took few steps forward then froze in her spot. Mrs. Garcia, Emma, Olivia, and Leila looked at her from head to toe. She looked down avoiding eye contact with them. The room could explode of the tension that rose in that room.

“You spent nights with my husband in a hotel room? How could you-” She attacked her but Olivia pulled her away. “Calm down Emma. Let us hear her first.” Mrs. Garcia spoke. Stella fidgeted with her sweaty hands. “Talk!” Emma screamed, making Stella’s heart pound out of her chest.

“We-” She was cut by the sound of the door. Matt stepped inside looking at each one of them. “You are cheating on me with…her?” She pointed at Stella. “Stop it Emma.” Mrs. Garcia raised her voice. “Now that both of you are here, can you explain what is going on between you two?” Mrs. Garcia announced as she averted her gaze towards Matt and Stella.

“I’m tired of hearing your doubts all the time, Emma. I’m tired of you.” Matt yelled at her. She approached him with watery eyes; her arms crossed over her chest. “Are you telling me indirectly that you are dating her secretly?” She asked with a threatening voice.

“Yes, I love her.” He stepped backwards spreading his arms in the air, while looking at them one by one. “Anything you want to say?” He then fixed his gaze on Leila. “You just can’t hide a secret, can you?”

She nervously looked down.

Mrs. Garcia couldn’t believe her ears. She adjusted her figure on the desk chair, putting her palms on her forehead. Stella was as shocked as his mother. She didn’t expect him to spill the guts. Concerning Emma, she was rooted to the spot.

The room was suddenly filled with silence. Their eyes moved towards Emma as she finally stepped from her frozen spot. Her eyes filled with hate; she let out a loud scream before she ran towards Stella. The latter rushed behind Matt’s back. Emma tried to catch her but he stopped her. “Leave her, Emma.” He made a wall between his wife and the girl he loved. “Why are you cheating on me with a maid?” She sobbed, kneeling down on her knees. “She gave me what you failed to give me, because you were too busy caring about your social status.”

Stella’s eyesight blurred. Everything became fuzzy; she grabbed on Matt’s shoulder to hold her balance. He turned around to her side. “Stella!” He muttered. Feeling in her body drained away until finally all was black. “Stella, wake up.” He grabbed her as she fell to the ground.

“Take her to the hospital.” Olivia suggested. “I’m coming with you.” Mrs. Garcia approached them. Matt was unable to focus with the people around him. All he cared about was the girl in his arms.

He carried her bridal style as Olivia opened the door for him. He rushed to his car followed by his mother and Olivia. “Why are you all coming?” He asked them as he finally put Stella’s figure in the back seat. “I want to make sure she is not pregnant.” Mrs. Garcia answered before she joined inside the car. “What are you talking about?” His eyes widened. “Hurry up Matt.” Olivia snapped him out of his thoughts.

Stella started to gain consciousness. She let out a soft moan while rubbing her eyes. “She woke up.” Olivia announced, making Matt turn around for a split second. “Where am I? Where are we going? Matt.” She tried to adjust herself, but Olivia patted her shoulder. “Don’t worry, I’m here.” He reassured her. “We are heading to the hospital.” He continued.

Stella finally realized what was going on. “What if I’m really pregnant?” She felt a big a lump in her throat. “N-no need to go to the hospital. I’m f-fine.” She stumbled over words. “I am the one who gives orders. We are going to the hospital. End of discussion!” Mrs. Garcia insisted.

Stella and Matt looked at each other through the interior rear-view mirror. He gave her a weak smile to comfort her.

Matt, Mrs. Garcia, as well as Olivia waited near the checkup room. Minutes later, the doctor came out followed by Stella. The latter stepped forward as a snail, covering her chest with her arms and looking at Matt with a nervous glare.

“I assume you are the husband.” The doctor looked at Matt with a smile on her face. He was confused and just decided to nod, earning a dead glare from his mother. “Congratulations! You are going to be a father.” His jaw dropped down and he just froze on the spot.

Matt finally reacted to the environment around him when his mother approached Stella and dragged her by her hair. “You are going to abort this baby.” She nagged. “Mom, what are you doing?” He freed her from her grips. “Leave her.” He pulled her behind his back.

“This baby won’t come to life. This will ruin our family. Think wisely, Matt.” She lowered her voice as she approached him. “It’s my baby…carried inside the girl I love.” He grabbed Stella’s hand and headed outside the hospital.

“Get inside, babygirl.” He helped her sit inside the car; then he walked attractively and confidently to the other side of the car. He grabbed his phone and called John as soon as he got inside. “Meet me at your house.” He drove off after hanging up. “Who was that?” She asked. “You will stay in John’s house till we find another solution.”

“I fucked up your life from the first day we met each other.” She admitted, looking to the other side of the window. “Hey!” He stopped the car on the side of the road. “Look at me.” He grabbed her hands together with one hand and then he held her chin with the other one. “My life will never be fucked up as long as I’m with you.” He placed his forehead against hers.

They looked deep into each other’s eyes after brushing their lips together. “I love you.” She whispered once they broke apart from the breathy kiss. He cupped her cheeks as a grin drew on his face. “I love you.” He whispered back.

After a couple of minutes, they reached John’s house. He knocked a couple of times but no one answered the door. “He is not home yet.”

“Is that him?” Stella pointed at a black car driving closer to the house. “Yeah.” John walked towards them as Stella was holding onto matt’s hand. “I finished working on the files before you called-” He was speechless as soon as his gaze averted towards her. “Hi, I’m Stella.” She reached out for a handshake. However, his eyes were fixed on hers that he forgot how to breathe. She looked at Matt with confusion.

Matt snapped his fingers in front of his eyes. “Are you okay man?” He finally snapped back to reality and reached out his hand. “Oh. I’m sorry. I’m John.” He gave her an awkward smile before looked at Matt. “Dude, she is gorgeous. I’ll no longer blame you for cheating on your wife.” Matt chuckled; however, Stella remained calm. “Thank you.” She said with a soft voice.

“Let’s get inside, it’s freezing out here.” John said as he blew heat on his hands. “Go inside babygirl. I’ll go back home to pack your clothes and bring them here.” He cupped her cheeks then pecked her lips.

“What happened?” John asked. “She will tell you everything. I got to go now.” He rushed inside his car as John and Stella walked inside the house. “Sit near the gas fireplace. It’s warmer there.” She nodded with a smile as she sat on the couch.

Mrs. Garcia got home. “Where is Emma?” She asked Mia while removing her coat. “She is in her bedroom, Mrs. Garcia.” She sprinted upstairs to see her. Before she knocked on her door, she heard her talking on the phone. “That’s a great plan. I’m in.” She knocked on the door when Emma ended the conversation.

“I heard you talking on the phone. What’s with this plan?” She asked her with suspicion. “You will know soon, my dear.” She gave her an evil smirk.

They heard Matt’s car driving inside the gate’s house. “We need to stop him-” Mrs. Garcia said, but was soon cut by Emma. “No. let him go. I don’t care anymore.” She lied.

“What is going on inside your mind? What are you planning for?” She asked her one more time, but the other one just walked outside her room with her arms crossed.

Emma walked downstairs humming, followed by Mrs. Garcia.
