Anita’s Pov

The ballroom spun around me as I tried to push myself up off the floor. My hands slipped against the cold marble, still slick with the red wine that now stained my gown. My ankle throbbed with pain, but I couldn’t focus on that. The embarrassment and anger coursing through me were too overwhelming. I could hear murmurs in the crowd, whispers of pity and curiosity. My hair had fallen over my face, shielding me from their stares, but I could feel the weight of every gaze.

I clenched my jaw, refusing to look up. Now wasn’t the time to let anyone see the shame that burned in my chest. Not Amara. Not the pack members. No one.

With a trembling hand, I reached out to steady myself on the floor, attempting to stand again. My ankle gave way beneath me, and I collapsed back down with a sharp gasp of pain. The twisted ankle was worse than I had realized.

“Anita!” I heard Alpha Hades’ voice, filled with concern and fury. His strong arms wrapped around me before I could fall further, pu

Hades’s PovHer words hit me like a punch to the gut. I know she had been through so much—more than I’d ever realized. And yet, here she was, enduring it all without complaint, without asking for help. The thought of her suffering alone, bearing the weight of that pain, made something tighten in my chest.“You shouldn’t have had to learn to endure it,” I said quietly, my fingers brushing lightly over her ankle as I checked the swelling. “You don’t have to endure it now. Not with me.”Anita let out a soft laugh, though there was no humor in it. “I’m not afraid of pain, Alpha Hades. I’m not afraid of much anymore.”I looked up at her, my gaze meeting hers. There was a hardness in her eyes, a quiet strength that I both admired and hated. I hated that she had to be strong. I hated that she had been forced into a life of survival, into a world where pain was just another thing to get used to.Beta Damian was still outside, taking far too long to return with the doctor. Anita’s PovThe moment Alpha Hades set me down, I sighed with relief. Despite the throbbing pain in my ankle, the tension between us was becoming more unbearable than the physical discomfort. His touch had been too gentle and it stirred something inside me I wasn’t ready to confront. I stepped back instinctively, putting distance between us, my heart racing faster than I wanted to admit.Alpha Hades, noticing the movement, frowned. His piercing gaze locked onto mine, his voice low and filled with curiosity. "Are you that afraid of me, Anita?"I blinked, taken aback by the question. "No," I said quickly, shaking my head. "I’m not afraid of you.""Then why do you keep pulling away?" he asked, his eyes searching mine for answers. "If you aren’t afraid, why do you step back every time I try to help? You chose to be my assistant, didn’t you?"His words hit close to home, but I steeled myself. The truth was that it wasn’t fear of him that kept me at a distance, but something else. Something

Anita’s PovThe room was quiet except for the soft ticking of a clock on the wall. I sat on the edge of the bed, my fingers absently rubbing over the bandage wrapped around my ankle. Despite the doctor’s best efforts, the pain was still there, a dull throb that grew sharper if I moved the wrong way. I had tried to stretch it earlier, but the sharp pain that shot through my leg made me gasp. I had to remind myself not to push too hard, too soon.Just then, there was a soft knock on the door, pulling me from my thoughts. I furrowed my brows, unsure of who it could be. I wasn’t expecting anyone, and Alpha Hades had left after ensuring I was comfortable. Slowly, I got up, careful to avoid putting pressure on my injured ankle. I hobbled toward the door, using the wall for support. When I opened it, Beta Damian stood there, holding a small tray with a few vials and a bowl of steaming herbal concoction. His expression was sheepish, his usual playful smile missing.“Beta Damian?” I asked, sur

Amara’s PovI lingered in the shadows of the hallway, every muscle tense as I overheard Hades and Beta Damian talking just a few feet away. Their voices were low, but I had sharp ears. What caught my attention wasn’t their discussion about the Moonshade Root or how Hades had gone out of his way to help her.It was her name.“Anita…”The sound of that name froze me in place, sending a jolt of recognition through my entire body. Anita? It couldn’t be. She was supposed to be dead, wasn’t she? I had believed she was long gone, discarded like the insignificant rogue she had become. Yet, the way Hades and Damian spoke about her—the way Hades cared for her—it was impossible to ignore the sinking feeling growing in my chest.I needed answers. Now.Without wasting another second, I slipped away from my hiding place and stormed down the hallway, my mind racing with the implications of what I had just heard. Anita’s PovAlpha Hades had messaged me again, checking in on how I was feeling. It was a simple message, but it caught me off guard. But wait, Isn’t Alpha Hades supposed to hate getting close to women? Why is he suddenly so caring about me?Alpha Hades’ aloof reputation with women wasn’t something that had gone unnoticed. He had always been distant, cold even. But his recent behavior was… confusing. He had gone out of his way to help me multiple times now, and while I appreciated it, I couldn’t shake the feeling that there was more to his actions than simple kindness.Just as I was typing out my response to Hades’ message, a knock on the door startled me. My thumb slipped, and the message was accidentally sent, half-written.I glanced at the screen, annoyed at myself, before putting my phone down.Could this be him, Alpha Hades?Didn’t I just send him a message? Why is he knocking again?I sighed, pulling myself up slowly, careful of my injured ankle. Hobbling to the door, I reached

Anita’s PovI winced as Amara twisted my arm further behind my back. The pressure shot through my shoulder, and with my ankle still throbbing from earlier, the pain became unbearable. I tried to pull away, but the sharp jolt in my ankle caused me to stumble, nearly falling to the floor."Let go of me!" I shouted, my voice filled with both anger and desperation. My heart was pounding, the adrenaline rushing through my veins as I struggled to break free from her grasp.Amara’s grip only tightened, her nails digging into the skin of my wrist as she sneered. "You think you can just come back into this pack and everything will be fine? You’re delusional, Anita. You don’t belong here."I gritted my teeth, trying to keep my balance as I twisted my wrist, hoping to loosen her hold. But Amara wasn’t letting go. Instead, she dug her nails deeper, the sharp sting sending a wave of pain shooting up my arm."You won't try nonsense with me Amara. You better leave me alone or I will... " Before I co

Anita’s PovWhen I finally woke up, my head was spinning, and my eyes felt heavy. The last thing I remembered was Amara’s grip on me, the sharp pain from my ankle, and then… darkness. Now, as I blinked the grogginess away, I found myself lying on the same bed, the soft glow of light from a nearby lamp illuminating the room. I shifted slightly, wincing as the pain in my wrist and ankle made itself known.“You fainted,” came a voice, deep and steady.I turned my head to see Alpha Hades sitting beside me, his brow furrowed in concern. His eyes scanned me carefully, making sure I was really awake. He leaned forward slightly, holding a small jar in his hand. The scent of herbal medicine filled the air, familiar and soothing.“Exhaustion and stress,” he added, answering the question I hadn’t yet asked. "Your body couldn’t take any more. It shut down to protect itself."I groaned softly, embarrassed by my own weakness. “I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to cause trouble.”But Alpha Hades shook his he

The truth, the one I had buried so deeply, was suddenly laid bare. Before I could even process my own emotions, Alpha Hades spoke again, his voice lower this time, almost as if he hadn’t meant to say it out loud. “If I were your husband, I wouldn’t be pleased with the situation.”I blinked, stunned by his words. It was a rare glimpse into something vulnerable, something he hadn’t meant to share. For a moment, the cold, detached Alpha I had known seemed to disappear, replaced by someone who cared more than he let on."You’d—" I started, but my voice caught in my throat, and I wasn’t sure what I was trying to say. His words had thrown me off balance, and I didn’t know how to respond. Why would he say that? Why did it matter to him?Alpha Hades must have realized what he had said because his expression changed. Alpha Hades’s POVI couldn't believe what was happening. The man, Zoe, who had been stirring the pot, spewing lies about Anita, was now standing in front of me. His arrogance was thick enough to slice with a knife, but as I took a step toward him, it seemed to dissolve into something else—fear, uncertainty, maybe even guilt. The man was not one of us. I could feel it in my bones even as he had lied earlier. Immediately, I lunged at him, grabbing the collar of his shirt and yanking him up, his legs shaking defensively in the air. Looking him straight in the eye, I asked, "Who are you?" My voice sharp and low. "How come I've never seen you around the pack before? Are you even one of our people?"The man’s eyes darted around the room as if he were looking for an escape route. His gaze briefly met mine, but then quickly dropped to the floor. He stuttered, “I... I’m one of the people here... from the clan.”I didn’t believe a word he was saying. Something didn’t add up. If he had truly be

  • Flash marriage with the Alpha King   Chapter 119

Hades's POVI could feel the pressure building inside me, my thoughts scattered, and my blood simmering with frustration. The walls of the office seemed to close in on me. At this moment, I feel like my head is about to explode. First, it was that damn woman causing trouble at the banquet, trying to disgrace Anita with her lies. Then, I had to face the elders—each one of them demanding that I divorce my mate. And now, the clansmen were at the door, shouting, furious, and demanding that I cast Anita out of the pack. How is this possible? How did everything turn into a whirlwind of chaos just because of one woman’s slander? My mate, my beloved, the one who was chosen for me by Moon Muse herself, was being torn apart by false accusations. She did nothing wrong. She didn’t kill her father; she didn’t start the fire that took the life of the old Alpha. But here they were—clansmen who didn’t know the truth, elders who were too quick to judge, and a pack that was ready to turn its back on

  • Flash marriage with the Alpha King   Chapter 118

Anita's POVThe moment Alpha Hades' words fell, an urgent knocking echoed against the office door. It was rapid, insistent, and the annoyance it carried was unmistakable. Alpha Hades' expression shifted, a flicker of irritation crossing his features as he waved his hand dismissively, signaling Beta Damian to open the door. Beta hesitated for only a second before pulling the door open. To my surprise, several elders stood in the doorway, their eyes sharp with authority. When they saw me, their brows furrowed immediately, the tension in the air was thick. They exchanged a few brief looks before one of them—an elder with silver hair and a scowl to match—spoke, his voice deep with disdain. "Let’s talk about the conditions," he began, his eyes never leaving me. "What do you want to divorce Alpha and leave our pack?" The words stung, slicing through the silence. The question seemed so out of place, and yet, I knew exactly where it was coming from. The elders were clearly unsettled by the

Anita's POVThe air around me was thick with tension, with whispers, accusations, and the overwhelming weight of eyes that drilled into me like daggers. My throat was tight, and my chest ached as though a great weight was pressing down on me. I barely noticed when Amara stepped forward, her expression cold and calculating, her eyes fixed on me like a predator hunting its prey. I only had a split second to brace myself before the words spilled from her lips. "You were kicked out of the pack, then turned around and deceived Alpha Hades," Amara spat, pointing a finger directly at my nose. "Relying on your means to make him marry you. Do you want to ruin this pack again?"Her voice cut through the already tense air like a knife, sending a shockwave through the guests. The room, already rife with doubt and suspicion, erupted once again. The murmurs, gasps, and shocked exclamations crescendoed into a chorus of disgust. My heart pounded violently in my chest, and my breath came in shallow g

  • Flash marriage with the Alpha King   Chapter 116

Anita’s POV The impact of my stepmother’s words was immediate and catastrophic. Like a bomb dropped into the heart of the banquet hall, the shockwaves reverberated through the guests, shaking the very foundation of what I had fought so hard to build here. The murmurs began like a ripple on the surface of a pond, but within moments, the room was filled with whispers, gasps, and unrestrained exchanges of questions. “What is Alpha Hades talking about? Has our Luna killed anyone?” “Wait, she’s the princess of that pack? Then why is she working as a rogue in ours? Did they kick her out?” The shock was obvious. Eyes turned toward me in disbelief, eyes that once looked at me with a certain degree of respect now clouded with doubt, confusion, and a hint of suspicion. The words my stepmother had thrown at us felt like daggers, and I could feel each one of them sinking deep into my skin. My body went numb, my heart racing as I tried to keep my composure. It was like the world was spinning o

  • Flash marriage with the Alpha King   Chapter 115

Anita's POVThe moment my stepmother, Evelyn, and stepsister, Amara, stepped through the doors of the banquet hall, the atmosphere shifted. It wasn’t just the weight of their presence. It was the way the room seemed to contract, like air being sucked out of a space too small to hold it all. My eyes met theirs across the room, and a wave of cold dread washed over me. Evelyn, with her perfect but destructive smile, and Amara, who had a calculating gleam in her eyes that made my stomach twist in knots. They didn’t have to say a word for me to feel the venom they carried. Their gazes met mine, then swept dismissively over the other guests, as if we were beneath them. I swallowed hard, feeling my throat tighten, a cold shiver creeping down my spine. The murmurs around us began almost immediately, like an undercurrent that started low but quickly grew into something more dangerous.“This is our pack’s banquet. Why would Alpha Hades invite them?”“I heard the elder is pushing for Amara to

  • Flash marriage with the Alpha King   Chapter 114

Anita's POVThe clink of glasses, the hum of conversation, and the low murmur of the crowd faded to a complete hush as Alpha Hades led me onto the stage. His hand, warm and steady in mine, was the only thing comforting me as I stepped into the glaring spotlight. The eyes of the pack were upon us, and though the room was filled with familiar faces, the weight of their gaze made me feel like a stranger in my own skin. I tried to swallow my nerves, but my throat felt dry, and my pulse raced faster with every second that passed.I could hear the shuffle of feet as guests shifted in their seats, their curiosity intense. The eyes of the pack, elders, warriors, and betas, all locked onto us as we took center stage. I glanced up at Alpha Hades, his broad frame standing tall beside me, exuding a confidence I could only dream of having. His expression was stoic, his features set in their usual hardened mask. But his hand, wrapped tightly around mine, told me everything I needed to know: he was

Anita's POVThe atmosphere in the makeup room had shifted from electric tension to something lighter. I couldn’t shake the memory of Alpha Hades’s kiss, and every time my gaze flickered toward him, I felt the heat of it all rushing back to me. He had this way of looking at me intensely—that made my heart race every time. But then, as if to ground me, he calmly turned to the makeup artist who had been standing silently by, waiting for him to give the go-ahead."Could you touch up Anita’s makeup?" Hades’s voice was low and controlled, but there was an edge to it, as if he was trying to maintain a sense of normalcy after the intimate moment we’d just shared. The makeup artist, a young woman with short auburn hair and gentle eyes, immediately noticed the smudge of lipstick on my lips. Her gaze flicked between Hades and me, and I could feel the blush creeping up my neck, coloring my face even more. It was ridiculous, but I couldn’t help it. The intensity of the moment was still so fresh, a

Anita's POVAlpha Hades walked toward me, his presence so commanding that the room seemed to shift with his every step. People around him, sensing the intimacy that was about to unfold, tactfully retreated, leaving us alone in the quiet of the dressing room. The air felt different now, charged with something unspoken, an electric tension that hummed beneath my skin. I stood frozen for a moment, unable to move, my breath shallow as I stared up at him. His eyes, dark as the night, met mine with an intensity that made my heart race faster than I could comprehend. There was a calm confidence in his every move, but something in the way he looked at me, something in the predatory gleam in his crimson eyes, made the space between us seem impossibly small. My pulse quickened. I wasn’t sure if I was more afraid or excited, but the emotions mixed together in a cocktail that left me breathless. As he drew closer, his hand brushed lightly against my back. The sudden coldness of his touch made m
