When I got inside and shut the door behind me, I saw Ruby reading a book on the desk. I walked towards her and stood by her side. If she seemed to notice my presence, she didn't let it show.

“I don't want my mates to find out about the surprise party that I'm planning for them.” I said after a while, watching her flip through the pages as she continued reading.
