Arriving at the bakery, I parked across the street since there was no parking on the other side. Turning off the ignition, I took the diaper bag from the passenger side and climbed out of the car. Looking across the street into the baker there was no movement which was weird. Every morning there would be people already waiting outside the bakery for us to open and the workers would be running around talking to each other getting everything ready but it was quiet this morning.
Where was everyone, aren’t supposed to come to work today or what. Did I miss something in the group about there being no work today? Maybe Elena texted me about today. Reaching for my phone in my pants, I unlocked it and there were no messages from the group or from Elena. Just when I was about to put my phone away it rang and Elena’s name appeared on the screen. “Hey, Miss Elena.” I answered, opening the back door on my side ,unclipping Neveah from the car seat, picking her up.‘Hey dear, how far away are you? ' Elena asked, sounding a little weird.
“I just arrived, I'm on my way in.” I said, walking across the street towards the bakery.Upon entering Elena came running towards us, taking Neveah from my arms showering her with kisses.
"Good morning to you, Miss Elena." I giggled seeing how happy Neveah was, ending the call.
"You look tired my dear, did this little one keep you up." Elena asked, examining my face."I'm fine Elena, no need to worry." I said, giving her a small smile.
"Come dear, let's go to my office and set this little one down." Elena said, walking towards her office.
“Miss Elena, where is everyone?” I asked, walking behind Elena looking around the bakery.
“Uhmm, I've sent them away for a few minutes.” Elena said, playing with Neveah.
“May I ask why, miss Elena?” I asked, walking beside her."Aaliyah dear?" Elena called out to me, stopping in front of her office.
"Something wrong Elena?" I asked, looking at her.
"Oh no nothing wrong dear. It's just that the reason why I sent everyone away for a few minutes was because my son’s came to visit me. My oldest son, Dominic, has this way of making people feel welcomed when they are in the same room with him. And the employees are scared of him when he comes around. So I told them in advance and told them they could leave for a few minutes if they wanted since there is still time before we open.
“Well if that’s the case……… then I don’t want to go in there.” I said taking small steps backwards. “Don’t focus on Dominic dear. He won’t do anything to you. It’s just the way he has been since Amelia died, he was a very sweet and kind person.” Elena said, handing Neveah over to me, taking the diaper bag.“Just this once Aaliyah.” Elena said, placing her hand on the door knob.“Okay, just this once.” I say after a few seconds of being quiet. What the worst that could happen. Elena’s son, Dominic, staring me to my death.Elena walked in first and I followed behind her with my head held down. Lifting my head I instantly fell out of place, unwelcomed by the way one of them looked at me, guessing that one is Dominic. From where he stood I could feel the dominants radiating from him. By the way he stood, the way he was dressed you could see the way he carried himself. The way he looked at me at first I felt a cold silver run down my spine but then I saw something in his eyes for a millisecond.
His eyes traveled to Neveah and it stayed on her for a few seconds before he looked back at me. It was like he was studying us from where we stood. Just being in the same room with him makes you feel out of place. I don’t know how Elena expects me to ignore him since I can feel his confidence and dominants radiating from him from where I stood. The other two brothers were just staring at me but not the same way Dominic was. They didn’t make me feel the way he did. No wonder everyone decided to leave the bakery for a few minutes just to avoid this man standing a few feet away from me.“Aaliyah, these are my son's. Luciano, Matteo and Dominic." Elena said, pointing towards each one of them.
“Boys, this is Aaliyah." Elena said, placing her hand on my back pushing me forward.“Who's baby is that?” The one leaning on the desk asked, guessing that one is Luciano.
“This little one's name is Neveah, Aaliyah's baby girl." Elena said, taking Neveah from me and walking towards them with her.“You look so young to have a baby." The one sitting down on the single couch said, crossing his leg over the other. Guessing that’s Matteo.
Elena stood in front of Dominic introducing Neveah to him but then Neveah reached out towards him with her little hands. Elena pulled Neveah’s hand back and she whined reaching back out to Dominic. Elena looked up at Dominic to see his reaction but he was staring at my baby with that same look. Stone cold, with no emotion at all. I took a step forward to get my baby away from him but he reached out to her and she took his index finger into her small hands, laughing that adorable laugh of hers.“Dear, you should get going. Almost time for you to start working." Elena said, staring at her watch.
Walking over to Elena’s desk , I placed the diaper bag on the floor next to the desk. Walking over to Elena, who was still standing next to Dominic because my dear baby held onto his finger not letting go. He just stared at her, letting her hold his finger.“Mamma has to go to work now. I love you.” I said, placing a kiss on Neveah’s cheek.Dominic’s head shot up when he heard me talk. What is it now, something wrong with my voice.“You have a beautiful voice.” Luciano said, lifting himself from the desk. Walking towards Matteo, sitting down on the arm rest.“Thanks….I guess.” I said in a soft voice, placing another kiss on Neveah’s cheek.“It was nice meeting you all but I have to go work now.” I said walking towards the door.Leaving Elena’s office ,everyone was back starting to work. Rushing around to get everything ready since we had no time to get everything ready before we opened. Walking towards the kitchen I put on my apron and black gloves and started working.
The time right now was 7 o'clock in the afternoon. I got off work about an hour ago. Neveah was in her high chair eating her oatmeal cereal, watching Mickey Mouse while I was in the kitchen busy making dinner. By the time Liyana arrives it should be done. Tonight I'm going to make chicken carbonara because Liyana have been asking for the past week for me to make this so I decided to make it tonight.“How was work? I asked when I heard the front door open.“Uhhmm…….. the usual.” Liyana said, closing the front door behind her, walking towards Neveah.“Yes it was weird Neveah.” Liyana said when Neveah yelled almost as if she agreed or wanted to say something.“Come on, let's have dinner and you can tell me everything.” I said, handing Liyana a glass of white wine.“You made chicken carbonara.” Liyana said, sounding excited, when we got to the kitchen.“Yes, you have been asking so I decided to make it tonight.” I said sitting down on one of the barstools behind the island.“You know sinc
Arriving at the club you could hear how loud the music was. Parking across the street I switched off the car and climbed out. Running across the street to go straight into the club but was stopped by the bouncer asking for my freaking ID. I didn't have time for this shit my friend needed me and I needed to find her.He let me enter after I showed my ID and as soon as I stepped inside I was engulfed with the smell of cigars, weed and the disgusting smell of alcohol. I hated that smell. In my 27 years of living I never had alcohol touch my lips just because I knew what it could do to you. I knew how it could change the person you are. I've lived through it my 18 years of living with my parents.Taking out my phone I dialled Liyana's number and she answered immediately. All I could hear was soft crying but you couldn't hear the music where she was. It was faint so I knew where she was. Pushing past the people , to get to the bathroom. I couldn’t give a shit if you were grinding on each o
Making sure that she followed behind Dominic I made my way to this Mason. Getting closer to them I could hear them laughing and talking about Liyana. He was standing with his back facing me and I stopped behind him tapping him on his shoulder. As he turned around I jabbed him in his throat making him fall back. Two guys came running from behind me, bumping into me, rushing to his side helping back up. The girls just stood there staring at me and I took one step closer to them and they ran away without looking back. They helped him up and he lifted his head up looking at me.“Let go of me!” He said pushing the two guys away from his side and charged towards me.He came for me and I didn’t move. He grabbed me by the throat and I head bumped him making his nose bleed. He let go of me and wiped his nose as the blood came out.“F**king bitch.” One of his friends yelled as he came for me.He went for a jab but I ducked , slightly sliding to the side I gave a hook to his side making him stum
How do I say this in the nicest way possible because no matter what I try to say it comes out the wrong way because of the way I say it even if I try to say it without sounding like I want him to get the f**k out of our apartment. I don’t know how I ended up in this situation with Dominic sitting in the living room with Neveah. When I stepped out of that room all I heard from Liyana was “ Come on Mr.De Luca is waiting for us in the car.” I didn’t have a chance to say anything because I was pulled out of the office where the two brothers stood smiling, waving goodbye. It's been 20 minutes since we got home and I couldn’t find the nicest way without it coming out the wrong way, to tell this giant of a man sitting in our living room to leave because I wasn’t about to let myself feel uncomfortable in my own home. Liyana basically ran to her room when we entered the apartment leaving me alone with this man and to top it off when Neveah saw him she had this adorable smile of hers and mad
Waking up to the sound of Neveah crying. Getting out of bed, I made my way towards her crib, leaning over to pick her up. Realising she only had half a bottle left when I reached out to grab it to feed her. I forgot to make her bottle’s last night because a certain someone I just wanted to get in my room away from him. Cradling Neveah in my arm, I fed her with the other one and sat down in the rocking chair. It didn’t take long for the bottle to be empty. Neveah’s little eyes were open staring at me, and didn't look like she was going to sleep any time soon. Might as well go make her 2 more bottles for when she wakes up again in the middle of the night because it was only 2 o’clock in the morning. Throwing a nappy over my shoulder in incase a little milk comes out when she burps. Laying Neveah down on the bed for a moment to do the kriss kross baby wrap, to keep her close to me while I am busy. I love this method because it is more convenient for me when I'm at home, then I don’
It’s been three days since everything happened, what happened to Liyana and Dominic sleeping over. Thank goodness he was gone the morning when we woke up. At least he didn’t leave the stuff just laying on the couch. The blankets were folded neatly, laying on the couch. I haven’t seen or walked into him again and I’m grateful for that. The week felt so long, days felt as if it was going by slowly but it's the weekend finally, saturday. That meant it was time to go grocery shopping and buy a few baby stuff for Neveah as well. Since I can’t go shopping without buying her something new. Whether it was toys or clothes I just had to buy her something. Sometimes Elena would visit us on the weekend and help look after Neveah and spend the weekend with us even sleep over. So yesterday afterwork Elena let me know that she was coming over but I let her know that I wasn’t going to be home. She said that it would be no problem, that she would come over to help with Neveah and Liyana while I went
I’ve done all the shopping, bought the necessary things we need and clothes and toys for Neveah but then on my way to the De Lucas estate something caught my eye that was in the window of a store I drove by. It was a designer bag that Liyana looked up once on the internet and she couldn’t stop talking about how she wished she had the money to buy one for her because she fell in love with it at first sight . She said that the bag itself was gorgeous and that she just loved the design. I can’t even count how many times she had shown me pictures of that bag. Even if I tried I could never forget how the bag looked. It was printed in my mind. I was going to get her that designer bag and surprise her with it since tomorrow is her birthday. Grabbing my handbag I climbed out of my car and made my way towards the store. Walking into the store an employee walked towards me.“Welcome, is there anything I could help with or is there something ma'am looking for specifically?” The girl said with t
It had to be this woman. She already pissed me the hell off an hour ago. Now I had to walk in excited to see my baby because I fucking missed her but instead I had to hear this woman say something about my baby. And by the time I stepped my foot in the kitchen it had to come out. She better start praying that I don’t end up crushing her windpipe.“Aaliyah!” Someone yelled but it was muffled. I could barely hear because of the anger I had inside me.I could hear The De Lucas brother arguing with Dominic to do something since he stood to my side. I could see him with the side of my eye just standing there staring at me. He had this amusing look and a damn smirk on his face. He had his hands in his pockets having this look in his eyes. Almost as if he wanted to see what I would do next. If I would take this even further by choking this woman to death with my bare hands. “Let go of me.” The poor woman choked out every word, gripping my arm with her long nails drawing blood. My hands go
It was Monday and I couldn’t forget about what had happened Saturday. Even Liyana realised that something had happened because of the way I was the rest of Saturday when we got home. Dominic had me thinking about him more than I was before. When I went to bed he had me lying awake thinking about him. I just hope that I don’t walk into him any time soon or even see him from a distance. I needed him out of my head. I was waiting for the babysitter to arrive so I could be on my way to work. My baby was lying in my arms sleeping peacefully. (Knock at the door) I stood up when there were two soft knocks at the door. Opening the door Sophia stood with a smile on her face. Sophia is a very kind and shy person. Why I chose her was because she really needed this job more than the others and because she was suitable for looking after my baby. She finished University but had trouble finding work. I did a background search on her and she grew up the same way I did so I wanted to make sure sh
