Brianna got out of the vehicle even before the truck stopped. “I know that motorcycle,” Gray heard her say before the door closed.

“Cap!?!” she yelped excitedly as she entered the diner. “What are you doing here?”

“Thank the heavens, Brianna, you’re here.” Seth enveloped her in a bear hug and rubbed his cheeks against the side of her head. “Tell me you’re okay.”

“But I’m on leave. They approved me for a month. Are they taking it back?” She tried to push out of his embrace when she felt an arm around her waist, pulling her back.

A growl near her ear told her Grayson was not happy she was hugging another man. He had pushed Seth a few steps back, but the other man regained his footing.

“Brianna is my mate and you better remember that.” She looked at Grayson, perplexed that he would declare his wolf status in front of the stranger.

Seth nodded and came forward, his focus on Brianna.

‘Why’d you do that?’ She asked Gray, but didn’t hear his response.

“We were so worried. The team kept mess

Wolves. The moment Seth dismounted from his motorcycle, he scented wolves around him. It was a biker’s diner/bar, and it was only normal that wolves from different packs frequented these establishments whenever they passed through a city. There was an unspoken rule among packs that passersby need not announce themselves, but people who wanted to stay the night or take part in the festivities of a certain town should seek the designated biker’s bar or 24-hour diner to declare their intention to stay and be counted into the visitor’s log.Through this system, the packs kept the peace, making werewolves accountable for their actions. Runaways and wayward rogues are brought to prison to face justice when they cause any trouble. But this only applied to small towns like Silvercreek. Bigger metropolitan cities had a completely different set of rules because the cities had more people, the rules were more lax, and the packs mingled with each other without breaking any rules. Not everyone ab

Seth returned to the diner, eager to make amends with Grayson. He would never get closer to Brianna if the alpha suspected him of trying to take her away.“Hey, Bree. I have to apologize for telling people you were my wife.” “Hey, cap! You want to join us for breakfast?” He breathed a sigh of relief. It seemed like Brianna forgave him for causing trouble earlier. It was another reason to like her. She was very amiable.“Sure, if it’s okay with you, Sheriff?”Grayson laid his hand out, ordering Seth to sit on the other side of the booth. And though he didn’t speak, Seth knew Grayson was still cautious.“Why did you tell them we were married?”“Aside from projecting it to happen?” Gray let out a low growl and Seth just smiled. “I figured they wouldn’t trust me if I said I was your commanding officer. It sounds like I’m arresting you.”“That’s true. I guess it makes sense.” Their order arrived from the kitchen and Brianna exclaimed like a child. “Ohh, food! We got several orders, so fee

If Grayson was protective of Brianna because of the incident with Marina, he was extra cautious now that Seth was in town. He was more dangerous.“There’s nothing else for you here. I suggest you leave town. Brianna is safe with us.”“Are you really safe here? Blink twice if they are keeping you against your will.”She laughed. “Don’t worry, they are telling the truth. I want to stay. You can report to the chief that I am okay.”“I’m still on vacation, so why don’t you show me around?”Bree looks to Gray for approval, and he shakes his head.“It’s okay if Brianna is busy. I can go around town and play tourist. There must be some stuff to do around here.” Seth smiled, knowing exactly what to do.“If you are looking for your men’s vehicle, you can get them from the impound. They left it on the side of the road before they disappeared.”“Well, thank you, Sheriff.” Seth tipped off his imaginary hat. “Brianna, I must say, he sounds like an okay guy. Brianna fell to the floor before Grayson knew what was happening. Her knees gave way after hearing about the preparations her parents were providing when they began exhibiting signs of their early transformations. Now, there was only one thing that puzzled Bree. Why did their grandma hide them instead of bringing them straight to Silvercreek?“My mom mentioned that Bran and I were witches?”“I thought we were only werewolves.”Violet laughed like the sound came from deep inside her and rumbled to the surface. “Of course not, my dear. Once you have the witch’s blood running in your veins, there will be no denying you are a witch.”“How about the powers? Will I or Bran possess everything she did?”“Abilities present themselves to the bearer as they see fit. The powers appear depending on what you need the most.”Bree nodded. Now she understood why Bran could disappear into the darkness. It was because nobody was there to protect him during his transformation. He needed to remain hidden

You came to do some shopping too?” She asked without turning her head.“I know my arrival is a surprise. But you don’t understand Brianna. I’ve been in love with you for so long, so when I scented Grayson on you, I lost it.”“It’s kind of weird that you declared your feelings all of a sudden when you showed no signs when we were training.”“I’m your senior. You’ve never shown an interest in us before.”Seth gave them a sneer that would have put every evil villain in shame. “I know your brother has shifted into his wolf form and is wandering the forest as we speak.”“And?”“As demonstrated earlier, you are on the brink of shifting. I wanted to witness this happening.”“You’ll never drug me again.”“Sure. I conducted that experiment to see if it’ll affect you. A shadow opened the oven door and took out several biscuits that were still warming on the tray. I hid behind a post, afraid that the oven light would give away my position, but when the person passed by the island and grabbed a few chocolate chip cookies, I knew they were oblivious to my presence. Why would someone steal from the ranch kitchen when Amelia welcomed anyone who wanted to come over and eat? Curious about the person’s motive and identity, I followed the robber and was surprised the person led me to the barn. Keeping a safe distance, I followed several steps away and saw the person go up the stairs to the hayloft. There were no lights around, so I wondered how the person could see in the dark. Are

Where?” Bree tried to pull the blanket covering Bran’s body to see the evidence herself, but Grayson used his feet to sweep her aside.“You know that your brother is naked under the sheets. Do you think he’ll be happy to know that you saw him without his clothes?”“I’ve seen him naked plenty of times.”“Brianna,” Grayson scolded, and for a brief moment she had a reason to smile. “I didn’t see any fire at the site. Where did he get the burn marks?”“Must be a cattle prod, alpha. We found one lying around a few feet away from the site. They tried to hide it, but we were better.” Someone from the back replied.“Bring it to the kitchen. We can locate which ranch it came from.”Gray headed to Brandon’s room as Bree followed behind with worry.“Who would do this? Do you think Seth’s grandpa had found out what happened and sent someone for retaliation?” She asked, eager to know what happened and if they needed to be cautious.

Bran had never been smooth with the ladies, but he never knew anyone who would knee him in the groin without provocation. He just asked for her name. Was that not allowed in society anymore? After recovering from his pain, Bran limped back to the ranch, spending time with the cows forgotten. He figured having a scraggly beard and mustache did not make him appealing to anyone. He probably looked like a hermit, foraging in the woods.‘Not ugly,’ a voice whispered.“Hello!” He called out behind him, wondering where the voice came from.A sharp pain stabbed Bran between his eyes, radiating to the back of his head. The intensity of his headache made him double over and fall onto the leaf-strewn forest floor.‘Bree!’ He called out before hitting the ground. At the ranch, Brianna was busy exchanging stories with Amelia when she heard Bran through their link. The sweet intoxicating aroma of newly baked butter cookies teased his senses and he couldn’t help but follow.“Wait! Who are you?” Bran called out as he caught up to the person weaving between the trees, obviously trying to avoid detection. He was surprised to find a woman clothed in black, her hair tucked under a black beanie.“I don’t want trouble. I just wanted to see how you were doing.” “I’m okay. My memory is a little rusty, but everything will return soon enough.” Marina heard about his amnesia, and she wondered if he knew who she was. Brianna, Grayson, and the rest of the pack are safe because of you.”Bran struggled to open his eyes, it had been only hours since he had been rescued and his werewolf blood was supposed to wipe out the toxins from his body easily, but the people who captured them dumped too much of the concoction into his body that it would take several more hours to be completely gone.“Do you know you were able to mask every pack member’s presence as they waited outside for their chance to attack?”“What?”“The pack members who were present said the forest appeared like something from a horror movie. Grayson and their group looked out of place. Muscled men coming out of several sports utility vehicles in a hiking area in the middle of the woods didn’t look like a friendly hiking expedition. The sunlight was fading fast in the mountains, and the pack knew the darkness would help camouflage their identities when they shifted. They can’t have reports of multiple untagged and undocumented wolves running around the park when it wasn’t necessary. It could give away their entire existence. But time is of the essence. I would have felt if it had been severed.”“Which only means there is no such thing.” James sneered.“Just because it never happened to you, it doesn’t mean it’s not true. Do you want to remain obstinate by keeping the twins?” Victor inquired.“Leave one of them to show good faith.”“No! The twins are better off together.” Victor replied.“What are you talking about? Earlier, most of the group had expressed that Grayson should have asked them for help before meeting with Seth in the clearing, so the kidnapping could have been avoided. “Attacking another pack should be the last option.” Victor Walker, the pack’s retired alpha, had flown on the red eye from Florida when he learned about the abduction.
