One year later, I was at my desk in the office at the pack house, working on the books for the pack. I took a deep breath and sat back in my chair, thinking back on the past year.

The kids have improved by leaps and bounds. My mind went to Blaine’s breakthrough moment.

Flashback

Shortly after I came home from the hospital, I had been resting on the couch because I wanted time with my family. The girls had gone to the kitchen to make a snack when Blaine approached me and laid his head on my chest.

He asked, “Mom, can you tell me the whole truth about my father? Isaac is my dad, but I need to know about the guy who got my mom pregnant.” Isaac smiled and nodded at me. I looked at Aadi and she nodded also.

I explained, “Well, your mom told me that he was a terrible man who had kidnapped her to sell her to some traffickers. He raped her multiple times before she was able to escape. I don’t know his name though.”

Aadi added, “She told me that his name is Devlin Thorn. When you were a tiny ba

We all went into the pack house and I asked if they would like some lunch before we go to the dungeons. Luna Kathryn asked, “Are you planning to go to the dungeon?” I nodded, “Blaine has a rather unconventional execution planned. We can go in Isaac’s office and tell you about it.”We sat in the lounge area of his office and Isaac started, “The first thing you need to know is that the prisoner is Blaine’s biological father. He kidnapped and raped his mother multiple times before she was able to escape. Not long after Blaine was born, he found them and tried to kill Blaine because he didn’t want kids. That’s how Blaine became paralyzed.”Luna Kathryn gasped, “Oh my Goddess! You poor child. You are so lucky to have survived.”Blaine spoke up, “It was the Goddess’ will that I survived. I have spent my whole life following Her path for me and I will until I die. Dad and I spent the last year looking for him so that I could get my justice. I’m just glad my biological mother kept track of him

Within minutes, there were at least one hundred snakes covering his body, biting him, while he screamed in pain and terror. Blaine nodded and all of the snakes stopped biting and started climbing the wall to leave the same way they came in.He was still conscious and yelling obscenities at Blaine while our son laughed, “I’m glad you’re still awake, Devlin. If you thought that was bad, wait until you see what is next.” He nodded at the guards and Heather withdrew the tree roots. We all walked outside and the guards roughly dragged him outside and just let him drop, face up onto the ground. He looked at Heather and she smiled, “Happy to help, brother.” The tree roots started winding their way up his arms again.Devlin asked, “So what now?” He smiled, “This is going to be better than expected. You are going to see your end coming and feel every bit of the pain. Rot in hell, Devlin Thorn. You deserve no less.”We all stepped back and watched as two panthers approached him. He screamed like

The following month, Alpha Doug and Luna Kathryn brought their two boys and one girl to visit our pack. The poor girl, Elizabeth, was stuck, in age, between both of her brothers, with no sister to have her back.Their oldest son, Lucas, was fifteen and held himself as a future alpha but he was also trying not to seem unreachable. He kept staring at Lena in awe, but it almost seemed as though he was afraid to approach her. I chuckled, “It’s okay if you want to hang out with Lena. Just stay where we can see you.”He let out a breath and walked up to her, “Would you like to take a walk?” She answered as she blushed a bright shade of pink, “I would love to.” As they walked away, I couldn’t help but notice the awestruck look on his face as he kept his eyes on her. I smiled at Isaac knowingly and Isaac nodded in acknowledgement. Aadi chuckled, “We may have a pair of mates.”Blaine approached Elizabeth, “Would you like to take a walk?” Elizabeth agreed and she started walking next to his whe

Two Years LaterI was helping Aadi with refreshments when I heard Lena yell for me, “MOM!” I rushed to her room, tires squealing as I turned the corner into her room, “What’s up, sweetheart?” She was standing there, at the foot of her bed in nothing but her bra and panties with a huge pile of dresses on her bed, “I can’t find anything to where and they are going to be here in less than an hour!”I chuckled because we go through this every time Alpha Doug and Luna Kathryn come down for a visit, “Okay sweetie, let’s see what your options are. We don’t want formal because that’s just too much, so take all the formal gowns out.” That reduced one foot of the pile.I sighed, “Okay, are you feeling any particular color for today?” She shrugged, “I don’t know.” I suggested, “I would love to see you in something that highlights your eyes. You have beautiful eyes and he needs to see that.” She giggled, “He already has. He’s always told me I have beautiful eyes.” I smiled, “Then we need to show h

For the last two years, Blaine had known that Elizabeth was his mate and it had been making him crazy. He still had another two years before her first shift. Instead of making himself crazy over that, he had buried himself in school and Alpha training. He had also been working on training his wolf. The warriors were shocked and amazed at his solid black wolf with amber eyes that glowed. They were also shocked that his wolf could run and fight when his human form couldn’t move from the waist down. They were also jealous that his clothes stayed intact when he shifted. He and Lena had been looking forward to seeing their mates every two weeks. We had been taking turns with Alpha Doug and Luna Kathryn on travelling to one another’s packs. I was just happy our packs had private jets to use, which greatly reduced travel time.Lena had been spending the past two years in Luna training with me. It gave her a big distraction from the mate bond and she was happy to bury herself in it. She had be

The next morning, I woke up a little later than usual, but still earlier than everyone else, aside from Aadi. She is always on top of everything. After I finished my morning routine, I went to the kitchen and found Aadi finishing up breakfast.Aadi smiled, “Good morning, Zariah. How did the run go?” I sighed, “Lucas recognized Lena as his mate and accepted her.” Aadi asked, “So does that mean she will be leaving us today?” I nodded, “I think they are planning to leave today, after she packs her things.”Aadi sighed, “I’m not ready for her to go.” She sat my coffee in front of me on the table and continued, “I’m going to miss the hell out of her. She helps me a lot.” I nodded, “I know. She is a big help to the pack, but that means she will be an amazing Luna for Lucas. That’s what I’ve been training her for. It’s all I can ask of her; to be the best Luna she can be. I’m so proud of her.”That was when Alpha Doug and Luna Kathryn walked into the kitchen. Alpha Doug asked, “Are you talkin

We were almost done eating breakfast when Heather walked into the kitchen and grabbed a bottle of juice from the refrigerator and a banana from the fruit basket. She started to walk out of the kitchen, but turned around and smiled, “I’m going for my run. It’s a ten-mile day. The girls are on their way. Also, I do not want to talk about the stuff I heard last night.”We all laughed as she ran out of the house to meet her friends. I smiled, “She is so much like me. I did the same thing. My friends and I got up to twenty-mile days. She’s doing very well at seven years old. She will get done with her run, attend warrior training, allow four hours for Luna training, then two more hours for Beta mate training.“Then she goes to our home gym and meets her Uncle Axle for Gamma training and more fighting style training. She wants to be prepared for everything. She doesn’t stop. She has asked to be homeschooled so she can do it on her schedule. She is staying caught up and getting straight A’s.

Six weeks laterThe past six weeks have been an adjustment period for all of us. Blaine and Elizabeth have been looking for reasons to see each other, driving us all crazy. We have finally resorted to letting them take turns, every other weekend, taking our packs’ private jets to the other pack. We told each of our pilots they were not allowed to go anywhere else.We felt Lena’s absence each time we sat at the table to eat dinner and each time we loaded up in the truck. Blaine and Heather loved having the extra room in the back seat. Heather was very vocal about her opinion on Lena’s absence the first couple weeks. Thankfully, she has let up on that. Now my heart can heal and let my daughter live her best life.Isaac and I have felt her absence a lot. She always had such a different way of thinking about solutions to problems that we looked forward to getting her input. Heather, however, has another way of finding solutions. Her oracle abilities allow her to see the best solutions or t

Isaac ordered, “Franco, take your mate to the hospital. I will get my mate out of bed and into her chair and we will be right behind you.” I rushed out of the bedroom, “Don’t wait on me. Just go. We are literally right behind you.” Franco ran at full speed with Aadi in his arms.Isaac moved behind me and started pushing my wheelchair at full speed through the halls. I asked Isaac, “Did you happen to link the doctor?” Isaac answered, “Franco already did that. The nurses will be waiting for him. I already told them to give her the Luna’s room.” I smiled as I looked up at him, “Thank you, love.”He smiled as he waggled his eyebrows, “You can thank me later.” I shook my head chuckling, “You are so naughty.” He leaned down to whisper in my ear, “But you like my naughtiness.” I chuckled, “I do, but the place for this particular conversation is not here.” He stood and laughed out loud, “I get it.”As soon as we reached the clinic, there was a nurse and a doctor waiting for them. That evening, at dinner, Heather asked, “So, mom, I’ve been waiting patiently all day. Are you going to tell us?” I looked at my mate and we both laughed. I answered, “I was wondering when you would ask. We are having a boy and a girl.” Heather smiled, “That’s perfect. Are you going to stop with them?” I shook my head, “No. The Goddess told me we will have a minimum of five.”Heather gasped, “Mom! Are you sure you will be able to handle it with your medical issues?” I smiled, “This is the Goddess’ plan for us. I will always follow her path for us. There are good reasons for each of them to be born, although I don’t know what they are yet.” Isaac added, “Besides, you know we love raising children. We had so much fun with you, Blaine and Lena.”Heather smiled, “Yeah, we did have fun. And you are young enough that you can still enjoy them. I keep forgetting that you guys were still teenagers when you adopted us. We are all so glad you did too.” I blew a kiss to her from across the table a

Three months later, Isaac and I were sitting in the doctor’s office waiting to get another ultrasound done. My doctor had been treating mine as a high-risk pregnancy because we didn’t know what was going to happen after all of my scar tissue was removed. We were hoping my uterine walls held up. Doctor Spink was certain that all was okay with it, but my doctor just wanted to keep an eye on it.When his nurse came out to get us, we went straight to our exam room and she smiled, “Your baby bump is already starting to get big. Are you planning to find out what you are having?” I chuckled, “Of course. We’re so excited. I really hope they cooperate.” She laughed, “Oh, trust me, we’ve met our fair share of uncooperative babies. We have our ways of getting the information we need.”She took my vitals and Isaac asked, “Can we please get a female doctor? It drives my wolf nuts to see a male doctor examining my mate.” She chuckled, “That’s a sign of a good mate. I can ask Amy, our nurse practitio

Six days later, I was in my office when Heather walked in and sat in one of the chairs across from me. I sat back in my chair and asked, “What’s up?” She smiled, “I just got back from getting my schedule and materials for school. I don’t need to take any of the Math classes, or the literature classes. I have to take at least one civics class and a bunch of electives to get my Associate of Science degree. I will be able to take the majority of my classes online too.”I raised my eyebrows, “That’s great, sweetie. What does your schedule look like?” She handed a piece of paper to me and I saw that she is doubling up on her credit hours. I asked, “Sweetheart, are you sure you want to take so many hours in classes?” She nodded, “I’m sure. These classes seem to be fairly easy. I think Chemistry and Biology might be a bit difficult, but not impossible.”I sighed, “Okay. I might be able to help some, but Aadi might be even more help. What is your civics class?” She answered, “I think it will b

Thursday evening, we all sat down for dinner, then we all noticed that Heather’s seat was empty. I asked, “Ben, have you heard from Heather yet?” Ben answered, “She called me at lunchtime. She said she may be late. She still had four more tests to take.”I nodded in understanding, “I bet she’s overthinking some questions. My daughter is most definitely a genius, but she does doubt herself a lot. Ben, you will have to keep that in mind and reassure her of her intelligence regularly.” Ben laughed softly, “She’s most definitely perfect for me. I tell her how smart she is all the time. She’s also a badass on the training grounds.”Isaac laughed, “Yes, she is. Just like her mother. Before Zariah was paralyzed, she could kick some serious ass. She put me on my ass more than once. She may not be able to use her legs anymore, but she can still pack a punch too.” I smiled, “The Goddess always puts us with our perfect partner.”Ben smiled, “I couldn’t agree more.” Blaine sighed, “Mom, Elizabeth

That evening, Isaac and I went home and found Aadi cooking dinner. I asked, “How are things with you? You look a tad bothered.” Aadi answered, “Not really bothered. Not mad either.” I laughed, “Okay. So, what’s the problem?”She answered, “Franco’s brother got here at around eleven this morning. As soon as they got out of the truck, Ben started sniffing the air and he hasn’t been able to stop. Franco has been so excited about it that he forgot to run to the store for me. I’m craving cookies and cream ice cream. I really wanted that for dessert.”I chuckled, “How about calling him now and asking him to stop?” She sighed, “I understand why he’s excited. His brother has scented his mate. He’s taking him all around the pack to see if he can find her. I’m just having a hormonal moment.” I looked back at Isaac and He chuckled, “On it.” He walked out the door and walked right back in.I furrowed my brows at him and he smiled, “I think I know who Ben’s mate is.” He ran upstairs and walked back

I had just finished updating the books for the pack’s business when my phone rang. The school counselor sounded quite irritated when he informed me that Heather had finished the tests. I thanked him and told him we would be there shortly.I rushed to my mate’s office and smiled, “She finished. Let’s go.” Isaac beamed, “Okay.” He jumped up and we left. He started to head toward the truck and I shook my head, “It’s going to take longer to get me in there than it would to just walk.” Isaac chuckled, “Okay, then. I’ll push your chair then.” I nodded, “Okay.”We made it to the school in a couple minutes because Isaac decided to run most of the way. We went to the principal’s office and we found him trying to seduce his secretary by kissing her neck. Isaac cleared his throat and we watched him look at us while continuing his seduction. When he realized it was us, he stood straight up, cleared his throat and stuttered, “A-Alpha, L-Lu-Luna, how may I help you?” I just shook my head in disappoi

Is he planning to spend a couple days?”Franco nodded, “He was planning to stay at least a couple of days. If he finds his mate in your pack, he is planning on asking permission to build a house.” Isaac agreed, “Of course he can. I will always welcome new pack members.”I reminded my mate, “I will be going to the school with Heather this morning to give permission for her to take the test to graduate early.” Isaac asked, “Isn’t she a bit young for that? She’s not even in high school yet.” I laughed, “She will be fine. She just isn’t being challenged enough right now. When we got to the kitchen table, everyone was there and Aadi looked like she was ready to burst. I chuckled, “Aadi, would you like to tell us your news first?” She laughed, “You got a visit too, didn’t you?” I nodded, “I did. But I will let you tell everyone what she told you first.”She grinned, “I know the path for both sets of twins.” Franco asked, “You do?” She nodded as she continued to tell everyone at the table everything the Goddess told me. She looked at me and asked, “Do you have anything to add?” I shook my head, “Nope. That covers everything she told me. I’m excited for them and they haven’t even been born yet.”Blaine asked, “Did she say when they would shift for the first time?” I answered, “I know your siblings will shift as toddlers. She didn’t give a specific age.” Aadi answered, “She didn’t tell me anything about when ours will shift.” I added, “But I would assume that if they were meant to go through everything together, then they would all shift together.”Heather
