Chapter 78

As we step outside, the night air hits us, cool and tinged with the acrid scent of smoke. The sounds of sirens grow louder, but they’re not the only thing I hear. In the distance, I can make out the shouts of the hunters rallying their forces. The attack on the building was clearly just a prelude to something larger.

“We need to get to the command center,” Luke says, his voice steady despite the chaos around us. “We need to coordinate with the other packs and figure out what’s next.”

We rush to the command center, where the remaining pack members are already regrouping. The room is abuzz with activity as they sift through reports and plan their next move. The tension in the air is palpable, and I can see the strain on everyone’s faces.

“We’ve had reports of multiple attacks across the city,” one of the pack members says, their voice tense. “It looks like the hunters are launching a full-scale assault.”
