Mark was the first to arrive at the Pentagon conference hall and he was surprised to find the place empty. He understood that the others were probably running late, but he couldn't say the same for Phiri. She was always present, she lived here after all.

He decided to look for her while waiting for the others and he was surprised to find Phiri in her room, cuddled up in bed with a blanket over her head. He was going to leave the room, thinking she was asleep, but then he heard her sniff.

Something was wrong and Mark could tell. She was obviously crying and he wondered why. Did she have a vision that made her sad? A lot of questions were going through Mark's mind when he heard her sniff again.

He stood by the door for a while, contemplating if it was a good idea to go talk to her or just leave her to cry in peace. Finally, he knocked softly on her door.

"Hey, you okay?" He called but she didn't respond so he tried again more loudly, "Phiri?" He knocked once more and still nothing.

"Hold on one minute" Rufus stopped Calvin with a raise of his hand. "So you're trying to tell us that your girlfriend, Charlene Hayford, is actually a werewolf? And she's the supposed new seer?""Like I said, even she doesn't understand the dreams she's been having" Calvin answered him. "It was after my conversation with Phiri last night that I was able to figure it all out.""This is so hard to process" Lucille said as she massaged her sides of her head. "Even if what you're saying is true, did you have to tell Phiri that she was going to die soon?" Mark asked Calvin."I never spelt it out" Calvin answered in his own defense. "She was able to deduce it from the questions I was asking. I do feel terrible about it, but if I'm right, which I think I am, then Phiri deserved to know.""I second that" Rufus said. "She's crying her eyes out" Mark said in a voice laced with emotions. "She is so young, yet she has to accept that she's going to die soon. No one would be happy about that.""

With a curious gaze, Roman watched as Ivy roamed around her house in a pair of black pajamas. It was way past noon and yet she hadn't gotten dressed or eaten anything. She just walked about, not sparing him a glance. He had taken a look around and had noticed that everything was in either black or white. He thought it weird that a woman would have so many things in such a bland colour. But he didn't want to judge, considering he didn't know much about her. Her identity was still a mystery to him, but he had every intention to find out more about her. She seemed like a very interesting person even though she seemed rather distant and cold at times. And so, here he sat, watching her walking around until she finally turned to look at him.Ivy frowned when she caught Roman staring at her and she frowned even harder when he didn't look away. The nerve of this man, she thought."What do you want?" She asked curtly while crossing her arms over her chest and glaring at him. Roman was startl

Calvin had dragged Tony to the mall to help him select something that Charlene would like. He wanted to buy it as a peace offering since she had not been taking his calls all morning and Calvin was convinced that she was offended by the way he treated her the previous night. Following Tony's suggestion, Calvin had gotten a very expensive handbag and he hoped that Charlene would like it. After shopping for the bag, Tony decided that he wanted to get some shirts for himself. He had dragged Calvin to the male clothing section and he had bumped into someone because he wasn't looking. Now, he was apologizing but the young woman was staring at Calvin. Was she taken by his looks? Tony couldn't help but wonder. It would seem so, he thought. Ivy stared at Calvin and it took her about to minute to recover from the shock of running into him like this. With the way he stared at her, she was positive that he didn't recognize her as the person that had gotten into a fight with his girlfriend the

Charlene was busy studying for her exams that had kick-started. She really didn't need to read but she was bored because Calvin had stopped trying to call and she was just trying to pass time. Her brother came into the room just then and sat down on the bed beside her, as he always had. She didn’t look at him as she began to quietly read aloud. Her back was facing him, but she knew that he was staring at her injured arm. “Does it still hurt?" He asked in his monotone voice. His eyes stayed locked to her arm as he spoke. “It has healed considerably” She answered him in a small voice before turning to look at him. "What's wrong?" She asked upon seeing the look on his face. "You said that girl did this to you?" Adrian asked. "How do you know it was her? You've never met her and I only gave a description. How were you certain that it was the same person?"Charlene sighed as she closed the book and placed it on the bedside table. Turning to look at her brother with an exhausted exp

Charlene couldn't believe that what she had been dreading just that afternoon was happening right before her eyes. Being a seer meant she had to choose between her duties to the werewolves and her duties to her father! She would have chosen the latter every day of her life. Her father and brother were the only family she had. Even though he wasn't the best parent, Charlene believed that her duties to her father trumped every responsibility she now had towards the werewolf community. Charlene was beginning to wish that she didn't have anything to do with lycanthropy. It was true that being the new seer would make her life complicated, but it also meant that her family would have everything so much easier and this gave Charlotte some kind of sense of peace. She was thinking about this and she was certain that this was not how she wanted her life to be. The last thing her family needed at the moment was any new drama or complications. Their lives had come with too many losses already a

It'd been more than a week since Calvin confessed his feelings to Charlene. That day, she had told him that she reciprocated his feelings and they had spent the rest of the day together. Although Calvin still felt an emptiness deep within, he was content by how happy she was. Exams at Hayford Business Academy was now in full swing, but that didn't stop the latest couple from hanging out together. Many of the students had began to notice Charlene and Calvin together. While some were happy for them, others just gossiped. Every young woman at Hayford knew Calvin Moss and being the daughter of the school's proprietor, everyone knew Charlene. The new relationship caused a buzz on campus as the two were seen together almost all the time. Now that Charlene was officially his, Calvin still didn't fill the void that was in him. There was that part of him that felt like he was missing something, but wasn’t. Even though he felt this way, her smile gave him a sense of comfort. He could tell sh

The old man adjusted in his seat, sighing as he did so, the old leather of his seat creaking. He leaned forward again, observing the five pairs of eyes that were staring right back at him.Being an omega wolf, this was more than a privilege for him. Never would he have dreamt of ever addressing the most elite werewolves in all the lands. He smiled again, happy that his nosiness of all those years ago was finally paying off. "I knew Morgan Hayford" the man began to speak, staring right back at the grand alpha. "I was the driver of the former alpha of the western Pack, Adolphus.""Why are we talking about Adolphus?" Calvin asked the others, interrupting the man. "Please listen to him" Phiri said and Calvin drew a deep breath before urging the man to continue."I was very much older than Adolphus, but he loved how I did my job" Fallon said with a proud smile. "Being his driver, I took him almost everywhere. I knew what he was usually up to and I knew when he began to visit Morgan Hayfo

"Excuse me" Fallon called, drawing attention to himself, causing everyone the stare at him. The man chuckled before saying, "I would have suggested that John could be Morgan's brother, but she was an only child so maybe he's a distant relative that has decided to raised the children.""I don't think so" Mark muttered."Me neither," Calvin seconded."He's not Adolphus" Lucille said. "I knew the man and he would not sit around for thirteen long years without doing anything."While they were busy talking, the landline on the table suddenly began to ring, causing the hall to fall silent. The Pentagon members exchanged anxious glances before staring at the ringing phone again. No one ever called the line except there was an emergency. "Is anyone going to take that?" Calvin asked, already getting irritated by the loud ringing noise. Phiri stretched her hand and picked up the phone. She placed it on her ear and spoke into the mouthpiece. "Yes? Pentagon."Everyone watched as her brows slowl

The struggling sounds ceased when Ivy got to the entrance of the building. She touched her back to feel her injury, but it was not completely healed. She could go into shock if she bled anymore so she threaded carefully.Inside the building, Ivy gasped when she saw Adolphus's head detached from his body. She didn't know how to feel about what she was seeing. Adolphus, leader of the zealots and the origin of everyone's problems was finally dead. She quickly turned her head when she heard heavy breathing coming from the opposite direction. When she saw that it was Roman, she quickly ran to him and held him in her arms. She looked him over and saw that he was seriously wounded. Ivy figured that it was Roman that had killed Adolphus. Ivy wasn't sure who the target of Calvin wrath was. There was Roman, who was standing in front of him, acting like a live shield for the second possible target, Diana. The witch was definitely in Calvin's bad books. Irrespective of anything, Ivy didn't want either of the targets to get hurt. While she considered Diana to be the closest thing she had to a mother, there was also Roman who she had shared her first friendhip with. Though he obviously wasn't himself, she still didn't want anything to happen to him. Therefore, she tried to reach out to Calvin's mind again. She really wished that it would work this time, but it didn't. It felt like he had shut the doors to his mind and reasoning that even she couldn't get through."I think we have to evacuate", Ivy heard Lucille whisper. Charlene's heart skipped a beat when she saw the Pentagon members. She was even more terrified when she locked eyes with Richard's brother, Mark. He obviously still bore a grudge against her for killing his brother and she instinctively drew back."Ivy" Lucille called, ignoring the presence of the Hayfords. "What happened? We've been waiting for you and Calvin.""He got his powers back. The tree died and he just lost control", Ivy explained. "He doesn't seem to recognize him and he was just roaming the forest all day."While Charlene was trying to make sense of what Ivy had just said, her brother snuck back into the premises to report the Pentagon's arrival to his father. "So that's what happened?" Rufus asked rhetorically as he looked up. "What could he be planning up there?""The question should be how do we get him down here?" "I saw a vision this afternoon".Adrian turned to his sister with a curious gaze. They were still outside the Rex building and he wondered if she was sleep talking as she stared at her feet as she spoke. "Stop looking at me like that", she said and then sat up. "Well, I was checking to see if you were sleep talking", her brother responded. "I only did that when I was child", Charlene said with scoff. "I've outgrown that.""Okay.
