Phiri couldn't believe what she was hearing. Was this what all the questions were about? Calvin's past? She looked down at Lucille's outstretched hand. She was supposed to take that hand, shaking it to seal a pact. But Phiri was not interested, so she tucked her hands into her pockets.

"We have better things to worry about than uncovering the grand alpha's past" Phiri said.

Lucille dropped her hand with a faint smile on her lips. Judging by the look on Phiri's face, it was evident that she wasn't going to change her mind.

"I guess I'll be doing this alone then" Lucille said as she took a seat.

"Why are you fussing over this?" Phiri asked. She really wanted to know what Lucille was playing at. She had known the woman long enough to know that she was only interested in a smoke with hidden fire.

Lucille ignored the question as she slowly twirled on the office chair she was sitting on. It wasn't long afterwards that Mark and Rufus arrived.

"So you're here already?" Rufus asked Lucille,

Staring deep into Charlene's watery eyes, Calvin could feel the rush of a multitude emotions as he listened to her. He couldn't remember anyone ever offering him a shoulder to lean on but here she was, an epitome of beauty and kindness, spreading her arms, inviting him into her embrace.Calvin took the cue and moved closer, immersing himself in her warm embrace. He instinctively inhaled her scent as she pulled him closer. He sighed, noting that she smelled of lavender and camomile. Great combination of fragrance, he thought. He felt himself relax as Charlene slowly ran her slender fingers up his neck and into his hair, softly massaging it. Calvin didn't realize when a satisfied sigh escaped his lips. He let him himself sink into the comforts of a woman's hug and soon, he had his head on her thighs, hugging them like his life depended on it. Now resting his head on her thighs, Calvin could feel the light weight of her soft bosom pressing down on his face and he was suddenly conscious

By the time Charlene arrived home, she was more furious than when she had left Calvin's house. She just couldn't stomach the fact that her seduction plan had been unsuccessful. Calvin's hesitation felt like a slap and just thinking about it made her face twist in annoyance. She didn't hate him though. She was only going to try again and that was a rough strike on her ego. Adrian had been looking for his sister all morning and when he saw her car pulling up at the front of the house, he hid himself, waiting to startle her. However, he changed his mind when he saw what Charlene was wearing. He was pretty sure that no club would be open that early so where could she be coming from? She was also looking flushed and he could tell that it was out of exertion. Adrian couldn't help asking himself what this sister of his had been up to. Charlene was already close to the entrance door when her brother just came out of nowhere, startling her. "What are you doing, Adrian?" She screeched. "I'v

Calvin spent the evening with his friend, Tony. It had been a while they hung out together and Calvin did not want to lose that part of him that was normal. With Tony, he could talk about things that were not werewolf related. He could feel his humanity again and he missed that feeling. They spent the evening watching soccer matches and talking about random things. As soon as the match was over, Tony put the news station and the first thing Calvin saw was Lucille's face. He frowned at sight, wondering why he couldn't go a complete day without seeing any werewolves. He read the headline and it was a broadcast about Roman's death. Apparently, the Pentagon had decided to tell the humans that Roman had died after weeks of suffering from an illness. According to them, Roman had stopped going to work as he couldn't cope anymore. The Pentagon had said that Roman hoped to recover, but he never did. They had also presented the press with a doctor's report concerning Roman's illness. Calvin

It is said that love a beautiful, yet complicated. It puts one in a vulnerable position, taking over a man's thoughts. It was this situation Calvin found himself that night. He had become so defensive of Charlene's interest and when he got to think about his actions, he was convinced of his feelings for her. Calvin had called for an emergency meeting with the Pentagon and they had heeded his call even though it was pretty late.He had not called Phiri as he had hoped to meet her at the conference room. She was always there, it seemed. However, when he got there, she wasn't present as he had thought so he put a call through to her. When she picked up her phone, she said that she was somewhere in the woods, running her wolf."I called for an emergency meeting with the Pentagon" Calvin informed her. "I need you here.""Okay, I'm on my way" Phiri told him. She couldn't guess why he had called an emergency meeting. But with the urgency in his voice, it sounded important so Phiri knew she

Calvin had been trying to reach Charlene all morning. It was well past noon and she wasn't taking his calls, neither had she responded to any of his messages. Calvin wondered why she was ignoring him. It was very unlike her and it was making him uneasy. Giving up, he decided to distract himself. He made a mental note to try reaching her later in the day. She was probably very busy, he convinced himself. Calvin was with Tony and they were hanging out with the other guys with whom they played basketball. The young men were just having a good time at the basketball court, talking about their final exams and upcoming games. They were all in a light mood when one of them asked the others if they had heard what happened to Adrian that morning. Calvin's ears stood at attention, very interested in the topic. He threw a questioning look at Tony, but his friend simply shrugged his shoulders, knowing nothing about the topic. "What happened to him?" One guy asked. "He was found unconsciou

Rufus threw a glance at the other members of the Pentagon, trying to catch their facial expressions after what he had said and it felt like they all thought that he wasn't making much sense."Don't look at me like that" the man grumbled. "I know what I'm saying." "Everyone knows that Calvin Moss has a reputation with women, but I do not think he's the type to be emotionally attached to anyone of them" Mark opined. "Perhaps, someone caught his attention then" Rufus insisted."This is absurd" Lucille said with an eye roll. "What has his personal business got to do with this?" "Remember that day he showed us a photo of the Hayfords?" Rufus asked and they all nodded. "He had said that the only one in the family he had interacted with was the girl... What's her name?""Charlene" Mark helped him."Right" Rufus said. "You all saw how Calvin warned us not to touch the brother. That day, I did suspect that it had something to do with his friendship with the girl. But today, I confirmed it."

Charlene stopped chewing and she could feel the heaviness in her heart just thinking about Adrian. Her brother was her best friend. They grew up up together and when their father had separated himself from the werewolf community, they had become inseparable. They've always had each other's backs and the fact that they were of the opposite gender did not affect their relationship. They didn't have a mother and their father didn't like talking about her. There were no pictures of her so the two barely had an idea of what she looked like. While Adrian had a faint image of his mother in his mind, Charlene never knew her. And though age had put some kind of distance between them, they both still cared about each other. "I'm sorry about what happened" Calvin said."He didn't deserve that" Charlene sniffed before looking at Calvin. "Adrian may act all tough on the outside, but he's so soft. I don't understand why anyone would want to hurt him."Charlene was pouring out her frustration but

Ivy wasn't sure who the target of Calvin wrath was. There was Roman, who was standing in front of him, acting like a live shield for the second possible target, Diana. The witch was definitely in Calvin's bad books. Irrespective of anything, Ivy didn't want either of the targets to get hurt. While she considered Diana to be the closest thing she had to a mother, there was also Roman who she had shared her first friendhip with. Though he obviously wasn't himself, she still didn't want anything to happen to him. Therefore, she tried to reach out to Calvin's mind again. She really wished that it would work this time, but it didn't. It felt like he had shut the doors to his mind and reasoning that even she couldn't get through."I think we have to evacuate", Ivy heard Lucille whisper. Charlene's heart skipped a beat when she saw the Pentagon members. She was even more terrified when she locked eyes with Richard's brother, Mark. He obviously still bore a grudge against her for killing his brother and she instinctively drew back."Ivy" Lucille called, ignoring the presence of the Hayfords. "What happened? We've been waiting for you and Calvin.""He got his powers back. The tree died and he just lost control", Ivy explained. "He doesn't seem to recognize him and he was just roaming the forest all day."While Charlene was trying to make sense of what Ivy had just said, her brother snuck back into the premises to report the Pentagon's arrival to his father. "So that's what happened?" Rufus asked rhetorically as he looked up. "What could he be planning up there?""The question should be how do we get him down here?" Mark said as he looked away from Charlene and up into the sky. Phiri was quiet as she looked from Ivy to Charlene. The latter was supposed to be the succee

"I saw a vision this afternoon".Adrian turned to his sister with a curious gaze. They were still outside the Rex building and he wondered if she was sleep talking as she stared at her feet as she spoke. "Stop looking at me like that", she said and then sat up. "Well, I was checking to see if you were sleep talking", her brother responded. "I only did that when I was child", Charlene said with scoff. "I've outgrown that.""Okay. So how could you have had a vision when you havn't gotten any sleep?""I don't know", she answered with a shrug. "It just came to me.
