"You're beautiful," mom said and I just smiled. Today will be our wedding and the makeup artist is fixing my makeup. She used shades of brown for my makeup.
"What's next?" Mom asked.
"I'll fix her hair," the makeup artist answered. I was just sitting in front of her. She decided to do a messy bun for my hair. She also added a few accessories on the bun.
"You can wear your gown now," she said after she finished fixing my hair. I smiled at her before standing up to wear my gown. I didn't invite any of my friends. This isn't just the kind of wedding they'll be glad to attend to. I'll invite them once I'll marry a man who'll love me until his last breath. I can see it. In the near future, Brooke will get a divorce.
I wore my gown. It was beautiful but I just couldn't feel it. Maybe this is how it feels to marry someone you don't love. Nothing seems to feel right. Nothing seems... magical.
When I was on the way to the venue, I kept playing with my fingers. I was nervous about something.
"We're here," napaigtad ako nang marinig ko ang boses ng driver.
Oh my god, this is it!
I was subtly trembling in nervousness. Oh my god. Oh my god.
I was starting to freak out but I managed it.
The organizer smiled at me, "What a beautiful bride! Come on now, be in your position," she guided me.
It was a garden wedding. My heart was pounding loudly. I never knew that this is how it feels when you're on your wedding.
I held my bouquet tightly when it was about time for me to walk down the aisle.
"You're beautiful," Dad whispered while they walked me down the aisle.
"Thank you, dad," I smiled.
"Take care of my daughter," my dad said as he gave my hand to Brooke who was staring at me. I met his gaze and I saw how he swallowed. He looked so dashing with his suit. He was wearing a black suit that complimented his dark, charcoal eyes.
He took my hand, "Not bad," he said.
"Uh, thanks?" I said. He shook his head, stifling a smile.
The priest started the ceremony.
He was talking about things. I didn't really pay attention because I was too nervous to even listen to him.
"Brooke Levine, do you take Renesmee Hades as your lawful wife, to have and to hold, from this day forward, for better or for worse, for richer or for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and cherish until death do you part?" The priest asked.
I saw his jaw tightened before answering, "I do."
The priest turned to me, "Renesmee Hades, do you take Brooke Levine as your lawful husband, to have and to hold, from this day forward, for better or for worse, for richer or for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and cherish until death do you part?"
I swallowed hard before answering, "I... do."
The priest made us exchange our vows. I actually did my vows and memorized it beforehand. I don't even know what I wrote in there. I just made it sound like how a wedding vow should. I just didn't specify things about affection and love. It was clear that he did the same too.
"You may now kiss the bride," my breathing hitched and I could feel my heart beating erratically. He lifted my veil before he started at me.
Suddenly, my world stopped spinning when his lips pressed against mine. He kissed me and I could feel waves of electricity flowing through every nerve of my being. He pulled away, avoiding my gaze. I did the same. It was too awkward.
I was stiffly sitting beside Brooke. Our wedding just finished and we're already in the reception. As expected, there was nothing special about our wedding. He made me feel that. Hindi kami nagkikibuan. It was very awkward when we were in the 'kiss the bride' scene. Like what the hell, I'm marrying a stranger! This is one of the cons of not going out with guys when you have the time. You'll lose your first kiss to a stranger. Well, I had a suitor, but... Nevermind.
"What's with the face?" I flinched when he whispered to me, his breath fanning the hallow of my neck. "You look like you've seen a ghost or something. Is it that bad to get married to me?"
I faced him and my lips parted when I realized that we were too close. Napalunok ako bago nag-iwas ng tingin.
"Answer me, woman. Is it that bad?" He repeated.
"Let me ask you something," I faced him, not minding that our faces were just inches away from each other, "What do you feel about marrying me?"
He stared at me before sighing, "It feels horrible," he answered.
I knew it.
"I feel exactly the same way," I just answered. He stared at me before he shrugged.
The emcee was talking about stuff when suddenly, the guests started to hit their wine glasses with their spoons. I don't even know who they were. I recognized some of them, but most of them were unfamiliar.
"Kiss!" The guests shouted.
My eyes subtly widened. What the hell, why would they want us to kiss anyway? Didn't they had enough with the 'kiss the bride' scene earlier? Geez.
I heard Brooke letting out a loud breath before cursing under his breath. We were both frustrated.
"Guess we don't have a choice," he said.
"Huh?" Before I could even react, his lips was already against mine. It was just a press of the lips for a few seconds. He pulled away eventually.
After for almost eternity, pinatayo kami ng emcee para hiwain ang cake. She even came up with a kind of saying that your love to your partner is equal to the size of the cake that you'll slice for your partner. Like, the heck?! Really?!
Brooke sliced a very small size of cake.
"That little?" The emcee asked.
Brooke smirked, "It would be a shame to lose my beloved wife in our wedding night, yeah? And I don't want her to struggle to eat a big slice of cake, I love her, that's why," he said that with utmost sarcasm. I knew that.
I was so close to hitting him but I stopped myself. Instead, I took a big slice of cake.
"Damn, woman, are you going to kill me?" He hissed.
"That's the plan, asshole," I whispered before I shove it in his mouth.
Nagpalakpakan naman ang mga tao.
I saw Brooke drinking water from my peripheral vision. He took a tissue before wiping the side of his mouth. I saw how he glared at me so I stopped myself from chuckling. Take that, jerk.
"We want a grandchild as soon as possible, Brooke," his mother said. This is awkward. Really awkward. Are they expecting me to have kids with a... stranger? I barely even know him! Our parents said before driving away. We were left alone. We were in one of their rest house to celebrate our 'honeymoon'.We were silent when he walked to the sofa and laid down, "Happy honeymoon... Yeah, right," he scoffed.I rolled my eyes before walking to the kitchen to check the fridge. I saw a can of soda so I took it before drinking it. The kitchen was complete with cooking utensils and appliances so I decided to bake chocolate chip cookies. I was planning to have midnight snacks later.I tied my hair to a bun before getting the materia
"Kasal ka na?!" Cleina freaked out. "And you didn't invite me! That's unfair!" She sat back on her seat."Sorry," I smiled apologetically. "I just thought that it wasn't the kind of wedding that you'd want to attend to," I said."Are you kidding me?" She asked unbelievingly, "Maybe it was, but you're my friend! And I don't want to miss your wedding on top of all things!""Sorry," I said. She sighed, "So? How's your married life?" She asked. My married life? It was fine, I guess. I mean, wala namang masyadong ganap. Minsan nga hindi kami nagpapansinan. We were both busy with work. He was managing their company while I was busy helping my parents with some things. Halos wala namang bago."Married life is okay," I just said. I snorted when I smelled something horrible. "What is that god-awful smell?" I asked covering my nose.
"What?"That was the first word that came out from his mouth after what I said.My heart was beating so fast. I was so nervous... scared, even.I know that he wouldn't accept the child. Why would somebody want to accept a child that was made out of libido?"I said, I'm... pregnant," my tears are threatening to escape my eyes."Hold on," he said before he stood up and walked to the bathroom.A tear fell from my eye. I knew it. He wouldn't accept the child.Guess I have to raise my kid alone, then.Oh, god.Looking back, I should've taken a contraceptive pill. I should've known better. He returned, wearing an emotionless face.
"Ano?! Sinong buntis?!" Dad exaggerated.Brooke looked at me confusingly."You didn't tell them?" He whispered."I was just about to tell them, dumbass," I whispered back."Wag kayong magbulungan diyan, sinong buntis?" Dad interfered. We were silent, not knowing if we should answer or not."Ano? Sagot!"Sasagot na sana ako nang maunahan ako ni Brooke."Ako. Ako ho 'yung buntis," he said. I blinked two times before stopping myself from laughing. Seriously?"Ano?! Ikaw ang buntis?!" Dad shouted, "Aba, anak, hiwalayan mo 'yan! Hiwalayan mo 'yan! Di ko alam na ang pinakasalan pala ng anak kong babae ay isa ring binabae!""The hell?" Brooke whispered to himself. I laughed because of him. Such an idiot. That was priceless."Hiwalayan mo 'yan, Renesmee! Hiwalayan m
5 years later..."Mommy!!" I smiled when I heard my princess' voice from downstairs.I went down and hugged her before hugging Kayden, "How are my babies? Did the check up go well?" I asked."Yes, mommy. The dentist said our teeth are healthy," she answered."Really?" I smiled."Yes, mommy. And Kayden didn't cry," she giggled while Kayden glared at her while pouting."Lux!! I told you not to tell mommy!" He said. I laughed because of him. Sa kambal, si Kayden ang makulit, which is normal dahil lalake siya, and he's afraid of dentists. Palagi siyang umiiyak tuwing pumupunta sa kami sa dental clinic every 6 months. Hindi nga lang ako nakasama ngayon dahil may ginagawa akong gown para sa kasal ni Cleina kaya si Brooke ang sumama sa kanila."Very good, Kayden. I told you, dentists aren't scary," I said."They are, mommy. They
When I woke up, I felt lighter. I was feeling better than yesterday. Having Renesmee was a good thing.I admit, I hated it when my father told me that I'm going to marry her. She was on my bad side in the beginning. But now, looking back, having her as my wife made my life easier. It was more convenient.Because of her, I have someone to cook for me. Not that I was using her but she cooks better than any other restaurants chefs does. Before I married her, I would always have my meal outside my penthouse. I never learned how to cook.My life was okay until she came. I thought that she would be another burden for me to carry but it was the other way around. It was me who was the burden. She stayed up all night to take care of me. I knew she was tired but she took care of me like a typical wife would do. I wasn't even expecting her to do that. She's nice. She's pretty, gorgeous, even. She's g
I was playing with the kids when Brooke entered the house. He was acting a little different lately. Ewan ko, o baka ako lang 'yon? I was being paranoid. Sometimes, he would go home in a good mood. And he's going home a little late more often now. When I asked him what was going on, he would just answer me with a shrug or his infamous 'nothing'. "Daddy!" The two kids ran to him and gave him a hug. He hugged the both of them before showering kisses to the twins' face. I went to him and untied his necktie like I usually do. He stared at me before looking away. I saw how his jaw clenched, "What's wrong?" I asked. He cleared his throat. "Nothing," and there we go again with his 'nothing'. I wanted to ask him but I stopped myself. I'm his wife but for him, I was never his wife. He never treated me like his wife anyway. He doesn't have any rea
"What about the kids?" I asked, hoping that the thought of it would somehow stop him from filing a divorce."Nothing will change, I will still be the father of our children. The only difference is that I'll be their father, but not your husband," he said and I swallowed a lump in my throat, trying so hard to keep my tears from escaping my eyes. Hearing him say all of this... God, it hurts. Hearing the man I love say all of this... It was shattering my heart, slowly... painfully.I was staring at him when the two kids suddenly barged in the dining room, "Mommy! Daddy! How about our bed time story?" Scarlett asked using her jolly voice while Kayden was smiling.Hearing how lively they were and how beautiful they looked with those smiles on their faces, I just wanted to cry
HIS POV"Sorry, sorry---" her gaze went up to me and she halted. We were looking into each other's eyes when suddenly, she looked away. And I saw how pain glimmer in the depths of her eyes. It has been two weeks since I last saw her. It was in the wedding. I wanted so bad to go to her but I asked myself, why would I? It's not like she's still my wife. And that thought still isn't enough for me to not think about going to her but I held myself tighter."You can go inside first," I said, staring at her.She didn't say anything and just entered the café. It was really unhealthy. And what, beer? Early in the afternoon? Seriously?"That's unhealthy," I said."I'll mind my own business if I were you," she said.Nagsungit pa nga.I didn't know that she can be this cold! And whether I admit it or not, I was bothered by it!Erina was already there when I arrived so I just had to sit and eat.I kept on glancing on their table and when
"Happy birthday, daddy!" I greeted my father. It was his birthday so we went to one of Brooke's family's resort to celebrate. I heard that they were best of friends since then. 'Yon din siguro ang rason kung bakit naisipan nilang ipagkasundo kaming mga anak nila.Anak!" My dad hugged me and the kids. Sabay kaming pumunta dito nina Brooke. We decided to take one car and he drove for us. Though hindi ko pa rin siya kinakausap. Ayoko pa.These kinds of things only exist in movies — that's what I thought. I mean, arranged marriages and all that are too old-fashioned. Hindi dapat pinipili ng mga magulang kung sino dapat ang makakasama ng mga anak nila sa buong buhay nila. At the end of the day, they wouldn't be the one who'll spend it.But at the same time as I believed that, I couldn't help but to ponder upon the things that could've
"Ex-suitor?!" Dri hissed. "Wow, so you guys had a lot of history, huh?"My lips were still parted so Kurt laughed at me."Yeah, we have a lot of history," he smirked, "I can even remember her being the biggest dork I have ever met," he teased.I raised a brow, "Excuse me?! I wasn't a dork! You were the dork one! Come on, don't you remember the time when we stayed outside your sister's condo for almost two hours because you said you didn't have a key when in fact it was in your pocket the whole time?!" I said and he pursed his lips."Well?" He raised a brow, "Do you remember when we were playing tag before and you were it? You ran to me and then you tripped, and you even pulled my pants with you!" Sumbat niya kaya napaubo ako. Dri laughed at that, Erina was smiling at the story while Brooke was only staring at the both of us, silently watching the two of us argue. His gaze was dark and his jaw was tightly clenched. "Like what the hell, that was the most embarrassing thing that ever hap
"Girlfriend?" His tita murmured, confused. "Am I the only one who doesn't know what's happening? Can someone explain to me what's going on?" I stayed silent. "We're divorced," Brooke answered, glancing at me. It felt like a deja vu, but now, he's not here alone, he was with another woman. They were curious so I decided to stand up. "Excuse me," I went to them, "Why don't you go to bed, kids? You still have school tomorrow," I asked. I can tell that they don't want to go to bed but they understand the situation. They were so quick to get it. "Mommy, what's a divorce?" They asked. "Some adult stuff that you wouldn't understand," I smiled.
["Renesmee!"] I distanced my phone from my ear as soon as I answered Avery's call."Avery, ba't ka napatawag?" I asked.["Nesmee, birthday ko na bukas! Punta ka sa bahay, ah? Hawak ko pamilya mo,"] she threatened. Oh, right. Her birthday is tomorrow."Birthday mo na pala bukas?" I teased. I personally designed her a dress and sued it myself.["Such a bad friend! Kaibigan mo 'ko tapos kinakalimutan mo lang birthday ko, ah!"]Nagbangayan pa kami sandali after she invited me. Sabi niya hindi raw makakapunta na raw
"You will never be my choice," I said and pain crossed her face. A tear fell from her eye which stopped me.Why would she cry?"I will never be your choice..." She trailed, looking down. Another tear fell from her eye before she met my gaze with cold eyes. It was emotionless and something in me made my chest clench at the sight of it. I felt like I don't want her to look at me that way. I want her to look at me like before... with those beautiful eyes glistening with something that really captivates me. But now... She was looking at me with those cold eyes. "Guess nothing was enough for you," she looked away."Renesmee-""Where is it?" She cut me off."What?" I
"Hi," I smiled."Si Brooke? Kasama mo?" She asked."Uh, mauna na 'ko," Drake said. "Sumunod kayo kaagad, ah?" He reminded."Of course," Mystique smiled. "Long time no see. Kumusta na ang mga inaanak ko?" She asked."They're okay," sagot ko.
I shifted uncomfortably on my seat. She said she wants to seat by the wall. He was just seating behind me! Tsk."Ate Nesmee, okay ka lang?" Nag-aalalang tanong ni Gia. She sipped on her drink while waiting for my answer."I'm okay," I replied."Nakauwi na pala si Ate Avery?" She asked."Ah, yes. May nirereto na naman nga sa'kin," hindi ko na napigilan ang bibig ko."Ha?" Tumaas ang kilay niya, nagtataka, "Hindi ba may asawa ka na? Wait, what? Sino ang nirereto niya?" She asked. Gia was young. She was about... 4 years younger than
"Magkakilala kayo?" Brooke asked and Avery raised her brow at him. "Of course, kuya," she flipped her hair. "Long time no see, Nesmee! Marami akong ikukwento sa 'yo! Ang tagal na nating hindi nagkita! Ilang taon na ba? 6 or 7 years? In fairness, going strong kayo ni kuya, ah?" Hindi updated 'to. "Ano? Shopping tayo? Bar?" she asked, clueless about the tension inside the room. "Stop pestering my wife, Avery," Brooke pointed at me when Tito Reinold cleared his throat. "Correction, son, ex. Ex-wife," he smirked. Natigilan si Brooke bago nag-iwas ng tingin. "Right. She was my wife," he said as he looked away. "Wait, what?" Avery raised her brow at us, "Bakit may 'was' at 'ex' na nalalaman?" She asked. Tita Julie sighed, "We were just talking about the divorce they just filed when I called you, Avery. They're divorcing their marriage," sabi ni tita. "Ano?!" She stood up from
